    My go-to way to STORE salad greens (as well as alot of experts' way, according to google), is always store for use IN the spinner. I wash and spin-dry the greens, then put the top back on and tuck the whole thing in my refrigerator.

      But the spinner is not airtight, how do the green leaves stay fresh?

      @JoyDVshop ปีที่แล้ว

      @@m1sschocolateface I didn’t think about it not being air tight. Well keep in fridge and/or consume quickly.

    Call me OCD but I soak the greens for like 20 minutes, then wash & spin like 3-4 times 😂
    I have found some NASTY stuff on the greens & have been paranoid ever since! Plus we don't know what was sprayed on or around our veggies... 💚

    • @killert41
      @killert41 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Heck yeah u can easily keep it there not for weeks but 2,3 days should be good its just plastic container that spins its not gonna magically start changing into radioactive thing when in contact with your veggies

    • @oh_Siddhie97
      @oh_Siddhie97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@killert41 I wasn’t asking to store veggies inside that thing. I am not an idiot of course it is plain simple that if you use it for storage then it won’t be any better than a canister. I wanted to know if the drying provided by the spinner would be efficient enough to store them in ‘some other place’. Some vegetables rot even if left a very slightly damp.

    • @walktoeat3755
      @walktoeat3755  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, it gets most of the water off. There may still be a little moisture on the leaves, but it's not very noticeable once dressed.

    Greens never dry that fast. Is 5 minutes of soaking really necessary? Add ? to the water?

    • @walktoeat3755
      @walktoeat3755  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Letting the greens sit in the water for a few minutes allows the dirt some time to sink to the bottom of the water that you dump out. This will also loosen up any dirt that is really stuck on your greens. If your greens aren't very dirty, then you probably don't need to leave them in that long.

      Hm, but soaking them for 5 minutes in TAP water isn't ideal either, right? I've read somewhere, that if you want to refresh your dull veggies, you just soaked them in ice cold water. So they must absorb some of that water right? Tap water is loaded with heavy metals and chemicals....

    That's not how to do it! Soak in the bowl, nor the streamer, lots of water, agitate then remove out of the water into the strainer then waste water and spin. That way you leave the dirt in the water, not on your leaves.
