    I recall exploring the ruin of Ardvreck Castle - a very lonely, magical, evocative place. I wish I'd heard this story beforehand, but it was in the 1970s - before your time, by my reckoning.

      yeah, that is before my time, yet Ardvreck is still beautiful.

    A lesson to be learned, for sure. Gossip is an evil all its own, especially when you spread rumours you know aren't true to hurt others.

    The lesson was for him and he fell short. He would not have understood if someone else paid the price, these are great teaching stories.

      Isn't that what Christ did though? Take the blood price on humanity's behalf? You think a Catholic would know that.

    For a moment there I thought there was goin' to be a twist involving the orphan. Perhaps it was just because she was baptized but still can't help but wonder. 🦇

    Why is it always wizards that put the devil in his place, never priests?

    That is a lovely tale, though bit hard on the poor wife who did nothing wrong. Sigh.

    What a great story! Thank you. This was a very thought-provoking video on many levels, and a cautionary tale.

    Your accent and cadence brings back comforting and mysterious stories my grandmother would tell me as a boy in the early 60's from our home in Boston, Scottish/Irish heritage, some of it I couldn't understand but it was hypnotic. Thank you for the ride back in time.

    That was a ridiculous thing of the younger brother to do. He not only proved to his family that he was black magician but also inadvertently killed his nephew. I'm surprised he wasn't accused of witchcraft or sorcerery and burned at the stake. It's always women it seems who were bore the brunt of the accusations of witchcraft during the middle ages early 16th century. Never the men, who by all accounts and historical records, were just as skilled or proficient in magic as there female counterparts.

    Another wonderful tale. I am just wondering what happened to the orphan girl. According to the story the Devil said he dared not touch her. Makes you wonder what was with that.

    Is there a story of a fae getting a mortal woman pregnant?

    • @LiathWolf
      @LiathWolf  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, quite a few. If you look at old tales of the Kelpie, you will find that near all of the creatures apperances are as an attractive young man that would enrapture woman with his presence. This would often end with a pregnant mortal and a half fae child (Urisk, Glastig, etc) hope that helps, Thanks for watching
