wayyyyyy ahead, really just the past couple years it's actually getting on the charts in terms of rappers at least, like think about POTSU getting a plaque for "Jocelyn Flores" among others, super rare
I've been listening to instrumental hip hop for over 20 years, way before the lo-fi thing got going, but was always an MPC guy as mainly made jungle tunes. Recommended my buddy an Sp404 as he wanted to make hip hop away from a computer and promised I'd help him learn it.
So I ended up learning how to use his SP as I slowly taught him the basics of beatmaking. Found myself wishing I had one of my own but couldn't afford it due to too much going on including buying a house. Anyway, my buddy called me today and said that he's decided he's gonna just stick to the decks and he's giving me his SX as a present. 😎 I'm so gassed man! It's still practically new as he never used it aside from when I would come over to learn it and teach him.
TH-cam algorithm brought me here... 5 years late. Lol
