I been doing it for 6 months under my friend authority. My authority is over 90 days old, start Tuesday of last week. Today I is monday, and I am on my 5th load, 3600.00 for week so far. Still have 4 more days to go. Just wanted encourage you guys !

I say good job for your first load and first tarp job!! I have seen other Hot Shotters use furniture pads on top of the freight so it won't cut your tarp. I'm subscribed for the ride!! Travel safe always!
Your tarp job looks good to me. Of course I’ve never done one and refuse to take loads that require it. (Just by choice). However, I don’t understand why they wanted you to tarp those plastic tubes/pipes. The place where you got the load had pipes/tubes stacked around the outside of the building without any covering 😂. Anyway, good tarp job and it was really nice of that guy to help you. I can count on one hand the number of times I got help! Good luck out there, stay safe!!👍🏿
when you do the big 4" winch straps roll them up and then fold it on itself and then squeeze it through the winch. basically it'll look like you have 2 straps together when putting it in. it'll allow you to get them tighter than you have them. also, saw someone else say it, but yeah the straps need to go under rub rail. keep pushing man. before you know it you'll be loading things like clockwork.
U should also fold over your straps so it don't flap and the slack gets taken out fyi!! Just a tip I got from some hot shoters really helps out on big tall loads so the straps aren't flapping and slapping!!!
Just a piece of advice, be careful using regular gps when hauling. I went thru virgin and it took me up the wrong mountain and I couldn’t turn around when I seen the sign that said no trucks. That’s mountain road was very narrow and it was dangerous
SAME 🤣🤣 My first time ever going through West Virginia and I'm from Texas I almost sh!t myself 😂😭 Them tight STEEP windy roads ain't no joke! I should've known when the gps said 2 hours for 80 miles 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I will be dropping a video dedicated to important tips and information when getting started with hotshot! Once I make it home this weekend I will drop the video
Heck yeah man I will definitely be watching that one I'm trying to start up my LLC right now and get every thing buttoned up and getting the rest of my equipment at the moment I'm excited to try this
Yea just first time they start bullshitting about any payment stop there and don’t haul for them cause they will let it stack up and then end up owing you couple loads.
The only thing you have to watch out for is the bar dosen't slip out and hit you in the face, a guy with a TH-cam channel called (Trucking for racecars) has a good video 📹 on binders and straps , be safe 🙏 out there brother 🙏 😀 👍
Okay maybe I will see you out there I'm in Fayetteville NC I pick up Lowe's out of Georgia all the time my business is Hotshot across the globe Consulting see you soon brother prosperity
Dead head was 200 miles. I got a call from the broker once I hit the state line and was asked to go back to the same drop off and pick up a load to go back to GA. 🤦🏾♂️
😅😅.. if you didn’t have that meeting to go back to, you’d definitely be in the money to get that return load. Proud of you getting first load, many more to go!
Straps have to go inside rub rail. That is a huge mistake. Soon as dot sees that you will get inspected. I am not hating on you or putting you down in any way. Just trying to help you. Anytime you run straps they have to go inside. Because you can lose the load if someone sideswipes you. Hope that never happens tho.
@corntv1107 not trying to hate. Just be careful I used to do that too. Dot got me for a 385.00 ticket. You did everything else perfectly. Just the straps have to go inside. Wish you the best of luck and congratulations
If DOT got you for straps being on the outside of rubrail. They are 100% wrong. That ruling was applied around 2011 and lasted for about six months. FMCSA quickly removed that rule. Securement is the only objects allowable to be outside of rubrail. However, it is best to keep securement within the rubrail, including dunnage. Looks like dunnage maybe over hanging. Also, is there a reason you do not have mirrors up for towing?
@@lifeontheroad_ Yeah DOT did not pull me over. This was our first load so we have made the adjustments on going inside the rail with our straps. Also since then we have utilized our tow mirrors. Thanks for the feedback

Make sure the sharp ends of your bungee hooks are facing away from the tarp, this will prevent tearing holes. Looking good!
🧐 taking all the tips I can get

I totally understand where you are coming from because the pipes are not covered once I delivered lol.
Sometimes tarp is just to prevent chips to the load from road debris.

Make sure all the hooks on your bungees are facing out not towards tarp because once you get moving the wind will move tarp around and make holes
