Check your local rules, artificially sent lures can be classed as bait on certain rivers, and if its a fly/spin river unscented soft bait ok, scented not, as can be classed as bait.
Excellent video there Ian -- Now all I and others need to know is do I need a license to fish the lower reaches of rivers but most important, where does the lower reaches of the rivers meet the sea where no license is required to legally fish! -- (Especially the Taieri and Clutha Rivers)

Is it OK to use these gulp baits on the central north island lakes? Are they construed a scented lure?
Gulp baits are scented. There are other non-scented plastics too.
