Now u are a real nurse! u made me cry when u said u stop what your doing to answer call bells and if u see a patient that needs changing u do it even if its not your patient I pray that God will continue to bless u a million times over! Thank u for being such an excellent health care provider I'm also glad that u know that family is more important than a check your caring for others but I hope you can spend 70% of your time with your kids because they are the most important things its good to have 4 days off to take care of your kids an the household a women's work is never done u have to work study for your masters maintain the house and the kids its a lot! Anyways keep up the good work and great videos xoxo

I really respect your stance on patient care. Because of one bad hospital stay, I ended up in a nursing home for 8 months and it was terrible. I am a spinal care patient and could not walk at the time. Patients care was lacking: call lights were left for hours, infection control protocols were not followed, meds were mixed up, etc. It seemed that most everyone thought they were too good to help. It was painful because I was aware of everything and I was the youngest patient they had ever cared for (35). Thank you for doing what you do...❤️.

You are such an inspiration! I'm studying right now as a LPN and was feeling discouraged about the route I am taking, that I looked up on TH-cam for other people's experience and luckily I found yours. Like you mentioned in your other video, God really sends the right people at the right time and I feel like my person was you. Thank you so much. I am feeling more motivated and I can't wait. Please continue with the nursing videos, they help immensely.

I’ve been going to school for nursing on and off(life happens)I’ve recently decided to take the LPN route because it’s what’s best for me at this time in my life. I was a little discouraged because some RN’s that I know were saying oh why are you becoming a LPN just go straight for RN.....But I’m doing what’s best for me. I’m glad I came across your videos! We need more nurses like you period. I stopped working as a CNA because the nurses really sucked . Omg they barely passed meds on time. I had a patient that had spinal surgery and the nurse just wouldn’t give her her meds for pain. I reported her and oh yes she got in trouble . That lady was 4 hrs pass her time due to receive her meds.

OMG I just quit my 1st job as a M.A because of the disrespectful, toxic staff. I stayed with that Podiatrist 8 months. The Podiatrist tolerated all their rude behavior. Loved and enjoyed the patients but hated the staff. So I know exactly where your coming from when you spoke of the disrespect. I see it as motivation to better myself and stay positive. Thinking about doing LPN hope I'll do well by the grace of God.

Great video! Thank you for caring and putting patients first. I started in acute care 20 years ago as a new RN. I would not have survived my first year without the experienced LPNs taking me under their wing. I worked with a few nurses who where there for the paycheck and gave me a hard time for taking time to help the CNAs, or spending time with my dying patients as they preferred to gossip and eat pizza and doughnuts... disheartening. Great point on mutual respect. The entire team deserves respect and then most will work with you vs against you. Wonderful patient advocate!

I have my reasons for going the LPN route after many years of working corporate/HR, management, etc. patient care and advocacy is what I love in assisting the patient in their recovery and rehabilitation. Thanks for touching on Excelsior, as I too am taking my pre-req’s right now via credit by examination and paying out of pocket. You provided good info. Best of luck to you in Florida, and continue to be you. Focus forward 😊

Thank you for he Q&A. One of your viewers stated "God sends the right people at the right time." I signed on to TH-cam to look for videos on studying for entrance test for LPN courses in different states and your video was the first to come up and started on its own. With the first video I watch and the Q&A video relaxes me a little. I've stated before I'm 50 and just starting my journey to nursing. Your tenacity is very encouraging. Your advice has really helped me. I just want to say that your spirit is really blessing me! I clicked on this because of the title.
I have a heart in caring for people and used to want to be a FMT (Family Marriage Therapist ) but that's a lot of money.
For a year I said and thought I wanted to go back to school for OTA. I love their mission field (helping patients with a illness or disablity become mobile), but I don't like the schedule and their cons make me look at them side ways. Well everyone is telling me to do nursing.
I really like the thought of caring for someone and learning behind what they do but my mind has been psyching me out about being a nurse because I've never daw myself doing it like my sister or my friend.
Listening to you talk from the heart, it's making me access myself; check where my heart is, why I'm thinking this way, and after hearing you out. I know I can do it. And I think going the LPN track would be good for me, personally, so that I can get better acquainted with it. Thank you for sharing your heart with us.

I am so glad to hear someone who agrees with me about helping the CNAs instead of just ordering them to change someone. I just started my 1st LPN job at a SNF/Memory Care Community and my preceptor told me that I needed to "think like a 'nurse'...not a CNA" but the thing is that at the end of the day, that person is MY patient, and letting them sit there waiting for the CNA to get to them could be what leads to all sorts of knarly stuff. Not to mention the fact that WE, LPNs, are supposed to assess each person's skin minimum of 1 time per shift. But doing things the way my preceptor does, I have only seen 3 of my 13 PTs butt, back, &/or perineum over the course of 3 shifts. And don't even get me started on vitals!🤦 Half the time they only check B/P & PR...what about RR, T, & Breath Sounds? I'm just worried about how to manage my time wisely without sacrificing my integrity by charting made-up vitals. At least I'll only have 13 at a time; most Nursing homes (especially in HTX) love to put 1 LPN in charge of 40-50 residents, smdh. I can't wait to finish my LVN-to-BSN program

I’m attending asa college first semester for pre nursing and all of my classes doesn’t even transfer into the nursing section & I also just found out it’s a waiting list so I’ve been looking for Lpn schools to apply to after this semester is over, even if I have to take baby steps that’s what I’ll do...I I found out about the VEEB school in Long Island but I live in Brooklyn and I’m gonna try to apply but they charge 1,000$ up front & if yu don’t get chosen you only get half your money back so I’m still looking for other schools even with financial aid I find that the Lpn programs here you still end up paying out of pocket sometimes it feels like I’ll never be able to enter the nursing program or maybe I’ll just have to move to a different state and come back but I do want to say thank you 🙏🏽 for sharing your experiences...

Yes! You MUST love nursing and taking care of people. Nursing is 70% CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CARE of others.
Imagine customers at a restaurant getting bad food, see how they act? Screaming and all. As a nurse you will get disrespected big time by patients all the time! You NEED to suck it up because our patients are SICK, ELDERLY and DYING. Patients need nurses who Care and understand. So, as she said, YOU MUST LOVE CARING FOR OTHERS OR YOU WILL FAIL AS A NURSE. Do you have any videos on averages of the amount of deductions Florida takes out for Nurses ? Some states take out both state and federal taxes but I was told Florida does not.

I want to become a private duty nurse with my NPI but I have so many questions! 😫 did you bill insurance companies with your npi number doing house visits? Did you have to apply to any state license to do that or did you just operate under your LPN? Did you do private pay?

I feel like you should wk as an aide first to see if caregiving is for you. I agree you should not become a nurse for the money cause it shows in ur care. Some people just are not a good fit for taking care of others. I tried non medical in home care 1st and I fell in love with caring for others.

@@RayBoomBoomRoom I mean to try out taking care of people to see if its a fit. My sister tried it and found out taking care of people wasn't her cup of tea. So she decided not to go to school for nursing. But to each their own

    • @RayBoomBoomRoom
      @RayBoomBoomRoom 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@rushiaj1222 if you said try being a lpn then I can understand but a aid dont understand what a nurse do. There are many aid types in the health care field. Being a aid is 1/4 in what real nursing is. There is no comparison. This how I know you dont understand what nurses do. FYI, there are jobs that nurses don't see patients.

tscott27 NIH certified (stroke), cardiac certified, ACLS and tons more. They help a lot when it comes to better patient care. Learning more about your cardiac rhythm and your stroke patients. Every certificate can be added to your resume also.
