CNT added is Single Wall or Milti Wall? I've tried several times to spin CTN yarn, but its conductivity is not that good as I aimed.. Anyway, very happy to see someone is doing same what I've persued!!
Hi, this is very interesting. Do you have any publications regarding this technique? Or do you have any contacts if I want to collaborate on this? I'm working on incorporating CNTs into PET by melt spinning.
Ideally yes, but that's the problem research is trying to solve. Currently we can only grow them a few feet long in the most ideal circumstances. The reality is you probably would not want a solid piece of carbon nanotubes stacked together as its role is to strengthen an existing medium like glass fill does to polymer. By itself it probably won't have the properties you are looking for.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Actually, a "CNT brick" (which I believe would be called "3D tubulane") is basically the holy grail of material science, and could theoretically have properties similar to those of individual CNTs, which are often massively superior to any single-scale CNT composites I've seen referenced in the literature. Those properties could also be hugely varied by tuning things like wall-count, connectivity, and diameter, making it an ideal material for a large number of wildly different applications. Frankly, CNT composites are rarely that great, often only incrementally better than the matrix material alone, and frequently outperformed by more conventional reinforcements like carbon fiber. However, since researchers haven't even figured out how to make 1D tubulane at the nanoscale, let alone a 3D tubulane the size of a brick, CNTs will likely be confined to compositing for quite a long time.
Hi I work in a spinning yarn, polyester yarn, I have been working on this for 2 years and I still have some doubts, I would like to see if you can help me?
+VicariousReality7 No problem indeed, the temperature at the exit of the dies is sufficiently low, and the carbon nanotubes are embedded in the bulk polymer
Sure, via a CNC arm, but that's a lot of expense for a task that is very simple. Much cheaper to just use one of the staff already employed to do the task. It only has to be done once per spool, so that's pretty good labor cost to profit margins.
1- it is carbon fiber but not carbon nanotubes 2- she is touching the fillers with her naked hand ?! 3- safety at working place is not respected at all, she must wear beside the gloves, a mask

Amazing technique
very impressive !what is the difference between metal yarn and yours?and Is that possibe for using heating gadget?(cloth, pad etc..)
The conductivity is lower than metallic yarns, but we work on the improvement of the percolation pathway in order to increase it
Great vid!
Hello Is this for polypropylene fiber?

Spaghetti's done.
Hi, we are looking for this kind of equipment. Can you suggest where to look for please?
May you say me how cost this machine? I need this for my project
I wan to buy that machine, what is the price
Dear friend ; Are you the manufacturer of this device?

Yes we have several publications on the topic. Can you contact me by email to talk about that ?

.Do you accept production orders
How about melting and spinning temperature difference in this experiment? And viscosity of materials at spinning temperature?
Hello i want to procure the machine in India... can you help me with that ?
does this process work with mwnts?
Is it possible to have carbon nanotubes in a solid state where it’s not a powder, for example to make a stable brick out of it?

now how do we turn this into cables?

We are looking for HOT MELT YARN manufacturing and spinning line with auto doffing for polyester yarn suitable for Shoe uppers
Is that safe to touch?

Is it electrically conductive?
Yes it is of course, it was the aim of the game
was that graphete she poring?
???????????????????????
LOL, I second that Eric.
Is it somehow possible to do this initial process automatically?

Do you sell small batches of PA 6/6/CNT?
Not at all. We are in a research laboratory and we don't have the possibility to make batches
what is the diameter achieved of the filaments?
Typically about fifty microns
Is spinning possible from a polymer 'solution' ? Thanks!
Yes, both wet, and dryspinning are executed by dissolving a polymer in a solvent before squeezing it through.
I confirm
what would be the production of polyester on this 2 spinerrets in 10 hrs...300d/96f

Its Carbon fiber not nano tubes
Definitively not. It is a thermoplastic polymer (polyamide 6 in this case) containing approximately 4 % of carbon nanotubes
Eric Devaux Thanks for reply
Eric Devaux what is its strength?
No, in this case it's PLA containing approximately 4wt. % of carbon nanotubes
