As an Indian, our law enforcement is so incompetent, but I'm grateful to Kit for doing what he does. Folks watching please realize our population is so massive (1.4 billion people) that even 3% of folks doing this, or being creeps represents a figure as big 42 Million -- That's larger than Canada's entire population for reference. We want to see these scumbags gone just as much as you do. Locals are targeted as much as foreigners. Huge respect to Kit, and Kraken.

I remember there was a kit video I watched a few years back where the scammer confessed his undying love to victim Kit haha. "I love you".
And that's on the low end of his scambaiting. He gets 30+ hours regularly
When the scammers are incompetent, it's funny and amusing. But when they're good, it makes you realize how despicable they are, and how malicious scamming is. I'm glad to have someone like Kit fighting people who do this.
I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with Kraken and the effort they have put in to help fight scammers with you. This is amazing and I can really tell they care.

Just remember, it is in Kraken's own best interest to do these public stunts. Crypto platforms are facing the ongoing strong possibility of continuing "restrictive" legislation. One method that companies successfully have used in the past is self-regulation. This is like self-regulation foreplay. Kraken wants to appear on the side of victims, not as the ambivalent facilitators of illegal activity.

As an Indian I am fking ashamed. This scammers not only aim foreigners but us too. They have tried scamming me too many a times. Luckily I was able to identify them. They mostly target our parents cause they dont have much idea about such scams

Being someone who works at a bank and has taken many calls where I have heard the scammers talking to the customer in the background. I for one cannot thank you enough for wating their time and getting them shut down, it makes this world a safer place and I hope one day to get less and less calls where I hear a scammer screaming in the background. Keep up the good work Kit.

Do they still use TTY to scam? When I was a callcentersman that was a huge problem
maybe its a dumb question but, what are you to do? are you instructed to alert the customer that they’re being scammed? do you freeze the account? or are you told to not do anything and give the support asked?
It sucks when someone calls in and you have to talk them down from paying a scammer. One call with an elderly man reached 3 hours because he was absolutely convinced that he owed some fake law firm in NYC $8000.
Eventually convinced him to at least wait until he spoke with his accountant before sending any money. Hope he (and his poor accountant) are doing okay now.

Like that time in the 1700s when your great-great-great grandfather old Jebediah Samson Kitboga foiled a goat-for-magic-beans scam by letting the scammers think they were taking control of your goat, but it was really just a pinata.

Notice how they never said what happens with the bitcoin, just that the accounts get locked/shutdown. Never mentions that people get their money back. My cynical side says they are keeping it internally

Sadly, I believe that some are working in various US companies in the IT department and they are sending co workers information home to others so they can scam 🤔
I've been listening to you take on scammers for years and this may be one of the most impressive scammer groups I've heard. Their speaking skills are better than average and they used a lot of clever techniques. I feel like they could trick people better than the typical scammer group, especially those who don't understand computers well. Very cool to see Kraken collaborating with you.

I like how the scammer wants you to log in to your Bank Account even when the computer is suspicious with virus and hackers are connecting to it... Make total sense to me.

Yep, makes about as much sense as when they set the bank account balances to zero and pretend they stole it all, then tell the victim to go and buy gift cards if they want their money back.
these guys are actually really good at customer service (patient, and doesn't yell or swear when the customer takes ages, interrupts or asks questions) which makes it way more believable.
The lesson is "Not your keys, not your coins" The power these banks and exchanges have is a double edged sword. The scammer really had only brute force tactics to convince the victim.
There are so many types of scams in our world... but the kinds of scammers that can spend this amount of time talking to someone and lying to them so easily are on a whole other level of despicable.
Especially because they mainly seem to prey on the elderly, many of whom are living on a fixed income and really need every penny they have.
Psychics, christian tighing, price gouging are bad also and much more common.

Some asshole just tried to tell my wife she was going to jail if she didnt give $1500 to a kiosk for missing a Grand Jury summons. Almost had me getting in the car to go with her, then I remembered my Kitboga training and told her to hang up on that c÷nt. You saved our fam $1500 today Kit. Real life super hero!

Late to this, but catching up on stuff...and man, this one was wild. I've listened to I-don't-know-how-many hours of calls on Kit's stream, and the videos, and these guys were SO slick by comparison. High energy, big confidence. The first guy was really nailing the Actual Tech Support delivery at first, too. It was fascinating and gross at the same time.

It’s so ironic that crypto was supposed to be anonymous but within a few years it became as not anonymous as regular banking but less safe.
I used btc so much for gambling in like price were 400-800$. Wallets back then are just wallet, if you phone died or stolen you lose everything. Nowaday wallet providers are also marketplace and bank, which is way more safer for my money but yeah,we lost anominity. Still better than Government.

My mom is not interests and i was an shortsighted idiot that dont believe in saving money . So, i used the money on hooker and coke mostly. Then it went up to lik 8k. I regret it but whatever, small balls.
Then in 2019, i read about this virus in reddit and media are blaming China heavily for no reason and China just banned Crypto Mining. I live beside China. So, i thought hey, it might be good time for bitcoin. It was like 4-7k back then.
I bought some and i sold it in first month of profit. 🙂

Crypto was never supposed to be anonymous. It was always planned as being pseudonymous. The whole idea of a blockchain like bitcoin has wouldn't even make sense if it would be anonymous.

I like that you talk about security with centralised exchanges and why they exist. You see so many people on Reddit complaining about having their accounts locked and then when you dig into most of them it’s because they’re sending money to or from a shady wallet, buying things online etc. Often it seems like unnecessary FUD for exchanges but people don’t understand these security measures need to exist to keep customers using the service.

I work in Scotiabank for a couple of months in customer service, last year, I had been following you, and the things you do are super helpful, you give us insight into how the scammers work, I would pass this info to my customers whenever I could because I would regularly talk to elderly customers, so I just wanted to thank you for your work

In New Zealand you can't just say someone is your son and get them to tell you anything. It makes things impossible when you have relatives with dementia and intellectual handicap though. You must get proven power of attorney or you cannot help your family. Everyone is terrified of The Privacy Act here.

A company I’d love to see get involved is Western Union. Their services get used in scams so much and it’d be awesome for us to see what they can do to try and combat that

Working myself in this field from a EU country. Whenever we see Western Union we instantly see it as an high risk. Their validation and security is beyond horrible.
Western Union is corrupt it will never happen.
Most scammers don't even use Western Union anymore, it takes to much time and is traceable. Plus WU takes a cut of every transfer. They pretty much all use Bitcoin now.
It's a shame that he doesn't use his exceptional english skills for good instead of scamming. It makes me sick how well these people are able to manipulate the elderly :/

That's kinda on you and your family for not keeping in touch and taking care of your elderly relatives. The elderly who don't have an involved support system in their life are the perfect victims.
@@jayv7006that's uncalled for. I know a gen X guy whose mother moved in with him. A scammer convinced her that her family was stealing her money. She withdrew and became suspicious of her family until after she was scammed. Unless you completely cut people off from using technology then you don't completely remove the possibility of them being scammed, and that can be cruel.
Also, they often tell them not to talk to their family and will use their love of their family against them. You blaming the family of the victim doesn't help.

You communicate with your elder relatives and build a rapport based on respect and trust with them so they know to contact you or someone else in the family if someone tries to do business or take payments from them over the phone. And if they are not in their right mind then you make arrangements for power of attorney. It's that simple.

The bank would NEVER allow a 3rd party onto your bank account. And why can't you call the bank yourself? Thats what I'd tell em. "You don't hafta call,I got my bank in my phone, gimme a second to call" 😂
This happened to my father in law, almost got him for all of his money tens of thousands of dollars, at the last minute my niece told my sister in law who was leaving his home that something was fishy. My sister in law is a software engineer. She turn off the computer and called the bank to freeze the accounts, credit cards,. The next thing was to move the money to new bank accounts, new credit cards, new passwords for the new accounts and my father in law is not allowed to talk anybody if it involves personal/financial information. These people prey on the elderly.
I'm glad you guys are doing this kind of work. I never got involved with technology and still don't care, but if someone calls me from 'my bank', IRS, etc. I don't believe it thanks to you.
I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me. I have been scammed and they destroyed my computer. I started watching several years ago. I truly appreciate everything you do for us. The only problem I have is to go to sleep. I am laughing too hard. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The Kraken CEO is under investigation by the FBI and Kraken was fined 30 million by the SEC over securities fraud. I'm sure they love justice.
Kraken should create some sort of special scam support to deal with all those mfs.

We love you man, thanks for all you do to shut these losers down. Many of them scream scammer the minute they speak, some of the others are far more convincing...
I'm stunned listening to these guys find each of your play accounts and decide they're going to clean out every one of them. Scams must work enough of the time or they wouldn't be doing it.
What a great service! Since more ppl have been shutting these scammers down I’ve gotten far less scam calls as long as I don’t use Facebook.
