    Learnt on the v1 4.5. great to see the new model has only small changes. Makes me happy with what I got, 12months in and still happy
    Another good vid, thanks.

      Yes, the V1 is still a great wing and actually feels a little softer when you luff it to de-power or flying it on a wave.

    Thx fo da great review. So they fix one problem ,the neutral handle . Didn’t address three issues, 1. the windows being in the wrong place, 2. The weight, 3. the bag being too small. “Solved” an issue no one had, which is more power to an already powerful wing.
    I’ve had a 3.5 and 4.5 since early last year. Had two neutral handles rip in the Maui wind. The tiny bag ripped. Windows are “active windows” because you have to pull the strut down to use them. Wish they lighten the wing. Because when the wind cuts out, it’s work holding that that over the head.

      Light wings are nice but I did not think it feels heavy considering how stiff the frame is. It does have some minimal reinforcement but I don't know how I would remove weight.

    Thanks for the early review! How does the V2 A-Wing compare in power/handling/weight to the PPC wing or Takuma Wingride V3? The V1 A-wing is already super powerful; interesting the V2 has more!

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! I wish I could have a wing that was as powerful as the A-Wing but also de-powers and luffs super smooth like the PPC. I have not tired the Wingride V3 yet so can't say about that one.

    Hi Rob & Dan, great review and riding btw. What is Daniel’s foil set up in these shots please.

      Hi Chris, in this video Daniel is using a Armstrong 1050, 72 cm mast, 50 fuse and a small flat custom tailwing. He talks about his foil setup in today's video and you can kind of make out the shape of his tail wing in the video thumbnail: th-cam.com/video/gtZlJ9Kc-Pk/w-d-xo.html

    Howdy , thanks for the review. Between the A wing v2 and PPC surge, which in your opinion would have the most bottom end get going power and flying capabilities for light wind ?

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used the PPC 5.8 and it’s pretty good but the wingspan is too wide for my taste. In the A Wing I only used the 4.5 so can’t comment on the bigger sizes but it does seem powerful.

    Thanks for the review!! Love the footage! Do you know when the new version will come out and do you have any idea what will be improved? I'm a beginner and I'm looking for a new wing, powerful for its size and strong. But preferably without giving papercuts haha and better windows would be great too. Maybe the luffing could be improved without giving up on power as well, not sure about that (maybe slightly different placement of the handle?) What is the most powerful and best overall wing at this moment in your opinion?

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad the hear you enjoyed it. I am biased but we designed the Alien Wing to do all that and I feel it’s a great combination of power and easy handling. For details: th-cam.com/video/DG0ra_coyvU/w-d-xo.html

      @@blueplanetsurf Wow, nice timing (haven't bought one just yet)! I love the design and colour of the Alien wing, really beautiful. And everything you say makes sense to me too, even though I'm still very much in the beginning phase of learning to foil, I did discover everything you say already. So I'm really excited about this wing! And can't wait to get well at winging too hahaha it will take a lot of time but it's really nice to see you guys and girl going. That's very good to see, gives me a lot of perseverance to keep practicing because I want to ride like that too, one day :-D I'm here all alone, except sometimes some other beginner but that's not inspiring to look at haha. And you need some inspiration to keep going after all the crashing again and again and again. So thanks again for all the nice footage and also for designing this great looking new alien wing!

    Hi Robert….did you stick your wing to the rock at the end to harness the heat to aid quicker drying whilst also having it dried by the wind and the drip down position….or am I reading too much into it ? 😆

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, all of that and keeping the sand and dirt off it. I let it dry for a bit then try to roll it up without letting it touch the ground. Then I curse the long thin bag, haha.

  • @billhuggin733

    Thanks for the intel!
    Yes the window is useless. I have v1 and they are not in the line of sight. The bag is tight but you get the gist of it after a few sessions. Just make sure your wing is dry.
    Any info on the Armstrong foil your buddy is using? 1250?

    Question :) would you know how the 5.5 a-wing v2 compares to the airush freewing v1 5m in terms of low end light wind power ? I am intermediate winger and looking for a light wind wing for 10 knot light winds but dont want to go too big. I am 88kg and would use a 2400 or 1850 HS armstrong wing on a 5'11 armstrong board in 10 knot winds and want to know if the 5.5 a-wing v2 will be fine to get or should i get the monster big a-wing v2 6.5m?

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I have not tried the Freewing but the A Wing is vey powerful for its size, the 4.5 is comparable to a 5 m from other brands, so I would think the 5.5 should be plenty powerful for you in 10 knots with a big foil

    • @blueplanetsurf

      Haha, I know it sounds lame. When I go in the water every day cuts don't heal quickly so I found the sharp seams very irritating.

      I had the same experience with my Ozone Wasp V2 wings. I presume that Armstrong wings are made in the Ozone factory in Vietnam given Rob Whittall’s relationship with Armstrong.

      It's just like windsurfing though. I don't recall windsurfing companies using the terms "V1", "V2", etc, but generally they have new designs and new colors every year.
