I don't know what was going through Bind's head in this episode. - Rush was depressed, they didn't even mention that Rudeus spent weeks depressed without eating. - They skipped the whole interaction between Elinalise, Geese, Talhand and Roxy and how Elinalise "gave her the idea" and also how Elinalise still hesitated to let Roxy know that Rudeus was married. - In one fell swoop we enter "THAT MOMENT" -When Elinalize was trying to convince Rudeus, they skipped the moment where he flatly refused to accept Roxy and she tricked him by telling him that Roxy was pregnant.
It's sad to see that people can't differ fiction from reality and start hating the author for the stuff he write even when it's clear that this fictional world has different law's and cultures Instead of enjoying the story they are more focused on imposing their morals on characters and world that is not even real 😂😂
I must say one thing that many seem to have forgotten. Eris, who is currently training to become the strongest, still thinks Rudeus is hers while Rudy thought she dumped him. I mean, we did see that in the season finale last season. She expects to become the strongest to be able to be by Rudy's side and protect him in the future. Therefore, we all must know when the two ever meet again, Eris likely thinks they'll probably just get back together. But when she returns.... there's Sylphy and possibly Roxy depending on how the next episode turns out. Omg. I wonder what Eris will do.
Please someone give Director a raise, a beer and an award, most of the controversy that I saw on reddit was that they cut chunk of content that gave a lot of context, impact and importance about Rudeus relapse/grief and Roxy's situation/decision but my man with so little information managed to understood the assignment and reached same conclusions that many readers got but with all the details/info from the novel. Fan of this man 😎
Idk what other LN readers are watching sometimes. This adaptation has had some of the best examples of "show, don't tell" that I've seen from an adaptation
@@TWYOP Ya if someone has a modicum of media literacy, they caught on to all of that by the time the episode ended. The source readers need to give people, and the anime director/Rifujin more credit.
They changed how everyone was overly worried about rudy, discussing how to help him in this sad time and turned it into a 'wanted to leave you' scenario
@@4rch0711 it definitely would've been great if they had that group meeting scene, but Roxy DID say that everyone was worried about Rudeus. She didn't say they "wanted to leave him", she said they wanted to let him come back (emotionally) on his own because they assumed Rudy would bounce back on his own
@@TWYOP 1. Rudy was straight up killing himself. Weeks long of no water nor food. 2. They need Rudy for the dessert as well as the teleportation. They all feel guilty one way or another, they even had a discussion on who'll bang Rudy. Either it's Lilia or Elinalise, they're that desperate. But both have reasons to not do that so it came down to Roxy, reason why she learned he's married
Enjoyed the reaction. Oddly enough, Roxy did meet Rudy first (and Roxy told him "wait until you're older" back in episode 2... I do note that Rudy actually asked Roxy's dad when they first met if he could call him father-in-law.... I think Sylphie will be more likely to accept things not just because she mentioned a concubine, but also because she grew up as a kid living with Zenith and Lillia's double marriage to Paul, and was friends with both. IIn fact, since Sylphie spent more time hanging around Zenith and Lilia and Paul then she did her own family (several episodes back she told Rudy both of Paul's wives taught her to cook and proper etiquette after Rudy was taken away by Ghislaine) it's likely that a polygamous relationship is the one Sylphie is most familiar with.
Fantastic discussion at the end, Mushoku Tensei is the only show I see people have a very mature discussion at the end that can also apply to our world(except the magic stuff obviously)
If you think Elinalise was a matchmaker in this episode, she goes above and beyond in the light novel, basically letting Roxy know how to "cure" Rudy's depression, and then backing Rudy into a corner to get him to propose to Roxy. I don't mind the change since this puts the onus of the decision directly on Roxy for seducing Rudy, and directly on Rudy for the proposal rather than just being manipulated into it. But in the light novels, Elinalise was working it.
I love what they did, but I do miss Elinalise's involvement. Although she didn't specifically convince Roxy to do it, just spoke about the deed working and her refusal to do it herself, getting Rudy to propose was such a good moment. It showed she noticed that both Rudy and Roxy were struggling with what they did, and that she knew Rudy needed a push to get over his misgivings about loving 2 women
Hitogami: Do it with Linia or Pursena and you will be happy Rudy: Nah... I'll do it with my goddess anyway Hitogami: 🤬🤬🤬 Roxy: Well... I pre-ordered him Paul: That's my Son, like a true Greyrat!
Roxy didn’t found out Rudy had a wife until Paul’s death. There were actually a conversation involving Geese, Talhand and Elinalise before Roxy went into Rudy’s room. This part of the novel is very important and detailed in writing about Rudy’s and Roxy’s feelings. This is a good episode and I’m not criticizing it. Some details are missing and they can easily lead to misunderstandings in Rudy’s and Roxy’s situation.
Yah, they left out a ton and actually changed some things from the light novel in this episode. They were also worried about getting back if Rudy succumbed to starvation and depression. If Roxie wasn't going to do it, the elf granny was going to, even though she didn't want to, it was that important to get Rudy on his feet. Only Rudy had enough power to get through the sandstorm around the teleportation circle. Also, Roxy was not that aggressive with Rudy. Rudy is the one that initiated it when she offered herself to him. They also moved an important point to later in the show, and it makes Rudy's decision to marry Roxie in a different light. Overall, a pretty disappointing episode.
You shouldn't have to read the LN as a prerequisite to watching a show. The anime is an adaption. If the anime and the LN differ one what happened... they're both right. That given, the source CAN give deeper insight into what is going on.
@@ComradeArthurI wasn’t trying to make LN as a presumption, just saying that I’m not sure which part of the plot that anime wanted to emphasize on. If they were trying to make the affection between Roxy and Rudy more clear, I thought adding more details between the interaction of both of them could make everyone understand the characters more deeply. As always, you must delete some of the things when you want to make adaption and as a Roxy fan I say I enjoy this episode. Appreciate their hard work🙌
Regarding Sylphie saying she was cool with Rudeus looking elsewhere: At that same time he insisted that he wouldn't. If Rudy has the right to both change his mind AND expect Sylphie to keep her original decision, then Sylphie has the same right to change her mind, and expect Rudy to keep his word. The answer is to communicate with your spouse, not take people for granted. That's true IRL or magical polygamy world.
Sylphie is nothing compared to Norn... Like her mom, Norn was raised on a religion that absolutely HATES polygamy. She is going to try to tear her brother a new one when she finds out. And also for some extreme spoilers (so don't read past this if you don't want spoilers): The polygamy thing is actually what partially snaps Zenith out of her vegetable state, cause she slaps Rudy when she finds out he has 3 wives way later (Sylphy, Roxy, and Eris).
Well harem route officially unlocked. New wife acquired. Best believe Rudy will likely be wielding swords Zoro style with that 3rd sword when Eris comes back into the picture. 🤣
Man, there's always too many things I wanna comment on in your videos. Either way, another great reaction. There's so many things you guys talked about that make me excited for you guys watching S3! Cour 1 alone will be insane! This episode had so much of why I love Volume 12 of the LN. Paul's death and Zenith's condition sparks that realization in him that he is a separate person from his past self and that those memories are just memories
Little reminder that Roxy entered Rudy's life before Sylphie. But anyway, they cut out many things from the LN. So i don't know if they are going to cover them in the next ch but i don't think they will, ther cut out the whole depression season and many scenes between Roxy and Elinalise.
NON-SPOILER CUT CONTENT!!! The situation was far more desperate than they portrayed it here, Rudy had not eaten for 2 weeks at this point, the group was busy scavenging the remains of the Hydra, they did talk about what to do to help Rudy, they dropped the info about him being married which discouraged Roxy since she's now in love with him, but Ennalise nudged her forward to go ahead and well "support" him. Roxy truly loved everyone in Rudy's family, remember her relationship with her own parents was strained because she can't communicate telepathically like they and the rest of her race can, her time with Rudy's family was the first feeling of familyhood she ever truly experienced and made her genuinely happy. When she comforts Rudy he is actually the one to get on top but hesitates till Roxy says "we can do it", they do the deed and Rudy feels like crap the next morning, he has an interval conflict inside about his love for Roxy and Sylphie, Ennalise is the one who proposed the idea of marrying Roxy by making it sound like Rudy needed to take responsibility since she was "late", which was lie but ultimately it was to push for the three of them to have the best outcome in Ennalise's eyes and who could really argue that. They make Roxy look really bad this episode, they've messed up both with Eris and Roxy, it's like Rudy just gets pushed into unwittingly being used for sex by 2 of his 3 love interests, I feel really bad for anime onlys who don't have the complete picture for major events like this one, which warps anime onlys perspective of the characters without the context from the skipped content. I hope you have read this so you can get the proper context of this significantly important event
Cheating has absolutely occurred lmao. I don't think the show is shying away from that fact. They know that they both are in the wrong here even if it was a moment of despair and desperation. It's perfectly fine to understand that it was in fact cheating but understanding each characters thought processes.
@@YaBoyRockLeesleeping with someone else without your wives explicit permission is still cheating So Rudy needs to ask forgiveness for that then move on with them both
This episode makes me conflicted as a light novel reader (ik we're the only ones making a fuss at this point). They literally cut WEEKS OF DEPRESSION. Rudy was on death's door, literally fine with dying, as he ruminates over his failures, regrets, and his four parents. So they switched a Rudy focused episode to have more Roxy, and that is very conflicting to me.
And it actually makes Roxy look like a terrible homewrecker at first. She admitted she was just making some excuses to contact with Rudy, but her opinion of helping him is also genuine. The fact that Rudy was about to give up his life at first is what makes Roxy feel it’s a urgent issues.
yeah the only thing they did is draw a line to his cheeks so we know somethings wrong. but he wasn't coming out of his room, wasn't eating and barely drinking some water. they glossed over it like it was nothing.
@@reignmans It was pretty easy to tell he was suffering as an anime only, and I’m used to the time jumps at this point. I can pretty much always guess what happened in that time, but I guess for people who aren’t good at using context it can be a problem. Also for me I think it’s great that there’s extra content to dive into once I get around to reading the light novel, it’ll make it feel more fresh.
15:31 Director is understandable That is why if ever you really want to have multiple baddies, give the signal upfront that you want to have multiple baddies AND be faithful to all of them It ain't cheating if EVERYONE ALLOWS IT. (ofc hard to pull off and only a small % of men in anime and irl can do so, but still) hence, what Roxy said in 16:40
9:52 WILLLLD. 14:44 Yes, Paul married both. The anime just didn't made it clear. 16:29 "what a good woman" right after taking Rudeus which is married 😂 19:49 damn "I'm normal, I'm absolutely normal"? so that's how it is. 22:23 Lee knows how to watch this show lol. 25:24 Lee spitting.
I was not expecting Roxy to be that forward. But then I learned that according to the LN, Elinalise suggested to her to fo what she did. Also noticed that all 3 love interests made the first move.
Roxy: I said I was going to get with someone who saved me in a Dungeon, and I'm gonna do it! "Sorry Sylphy, your Prince is exploring another dungeon tonight"
The anime left out a few of her fantasy's clauses in S1E13. Whole thing: "One day I will bump into a tall, handsome human man who can still make childish expressions. In the depths of a labyrinth he will save me. We will combine our strengths to make our escape, and our love will bloom and blossom. By the time we escape the labyrinth, he will hear of his friend passing. I will be there to comfort him, and that will be our first night together." They left out the bit of his friend dying and her comforting him over it.
I just wanna point out that they cut some time in between: Rudeus was so depressed he hadn't eaten anything for WEEKS and was on the verge of literally ending himself. When the rest of the party started to worry, they started to throw the idea of someone "comforting" him and it was infact Elinalise who suggested Roxy should do it.
Love how I still see clueless MT-haters who claim that "Rudeus cheated on his wife"... it's clear that it's best homewrecker girl who initiated this while Rudeus was barely aware of what was even happening before it happened. Either way, it worked. Good job Roxy, you brought Rudy back to the realm of the living + you where actually still in the room when he woke up.
Well he was there so he did cheat (Sylphie may be cool with a poly marriage but he shouldn’t have done it without her permission first) So he has to go back and beg forgiveness for that as well
@@MinscS2what r*pe, he’s a grown man and he wasn’t drugged Roxy certainly pushed the issue but he coulda pushed her off him if he wanted Modern generation are so weird thinking unless someone signs a written essay about consent lol
he actually view himself as a "fake son" since he feels guilty that he thinks he stole the originals rudeus place so he also denies and hesitate to recognize paul and zenith as parents😥😥
well it's too late now since he lost paul when he finally accepts his feelings and now zenith is vegetable so even if he wants to he can't do it. well we can't blame him it's really complicated since theres also the issue of his past parents so his emotions probably a mess since he don't know where to place himself through all of these family things
I can imagine this will only make things more difficult for Rudy long term, hence Man-God probably added it to the regret pile. Whether Rudeus finds it to actually be one is a different matter.
Just a note, the reason Paul (and many others) can do crazy sword fighting and moves is because of "Battle Aura"... think of it like taking your mana and pressing it down around your body. People in this world use it to enhance their body and any items they're holding like swords and they usually start controlling it when they're kids. Rudy is physically unable to create/use Battle Aura which is why he hasn't progressed his sword fighting much. It's how in season 1 Paul could slice a rock with wooden sword, while when Rudy tried it just bounced off. They really don't talk about it in the anime, but it's a concept described in the LNs.
The concept has been subtly incorporated into the worldbuilding without exposition so far, but at a few points in season 3 it becomes almost inescapable to need to explain it. Would be interesting how they'll do it. All you need is one line: "Fighters in this world can use mana for their strength, durability, and abilities like magicians use it for their spells."
A lot of cut content on this episode, really messes up the characterizations, most important ones are these two imo: -They skipped Roxy learning about Rudy being married. In the same conversation Geese was trying to convince Elinalize to seduce Rudeus so he gets over his depression, this is where Roxy decided to "visit" rudy in his room. Rudy also was a lot more depressed than what was shown in the anime, he stayed in his room for days without doing anything. He compares it to when he was depressed over Eris leaving, he was literally on the brink. -They skipped Elinalise lying to Rudeus about Roxy being pregnant in order to convince him to take Roxy as his second wife. Rudy knew he fucked up big time and was trying to do his best to do better, without Elinalise lying he'd have stayed away from Roxy. Elinalise was a friend of Roxy's before she met with her granddaugher Sylphie so she was unhappy seeing Roxy so depressed so she lied, she knew Rudy would take responsibility if there was a child involved. There was a lot more but for such a controvertial episode knowing these makes a difference in my opinion.
(11:47) I'm glad I watched your reaction straight after the episode cause it gave me the laughs I needed-I was Adorkable the entire time watching the episode😂 (17:03) freaking diabolical Lee OML, you foul for that😂
Yeah. If people are explaining things. I dont even read it lol. I only read original thoughts or opinions. Which i can generally tell now in first few works. Like yours. You can tell you not giving information in the opening sentence . Lol
Love your reaction on this episode. Good opinion with actually applying everything that showed in anime. Twitter/twitch people (and just who doesn't think properly on situation) is on fire rn. But when they wasn't? Its not even sad, its fun af.
Crazy, in the LN he’s the one who pushed her down on the bed and was rough with her. He then felt really bad the next morning for how rough he was with her, taking his frustration out on her.
Plus the guilt of actually doing it. But since they omitted the reason he pushed her down, the soothing sound of her beating heart, having the tryst be a gentler affair makes sense.
He probably would have had a bigger bond with his parents if he hadn't been away from them for 10 years. Also its still cheating, its probably on the more understandable end of cheating but its totally up to Sylphy if she accepts that or not, honestly not sure if him being in love with Roxy as well makes that situation better or worse for Sylphy, she will likely be fairly understanding though.
HeY Did YOu GuYs hEaR tHaT thIS ePiSodE SkiPped aLoT of CoNTenT?? Damn everybody is just sitting there with the book in hand hoping to get a word for word adaptation. People were worried how twitter would react to this episode, im starting to hate the LN readers takes worse. And ive read the LN. I remember years ago, after i had read most of the story and i saw the preview for the anime being made, i was so excited. Remember that excitement and just let it be
Vocal minority my guy. There's plenty of readers who are happy with this too. Very roxy & rudy focused episode and cuts out a lot of the drama around it that was in the LN. People will always want more, but it was a well adapted episode overall. It's the "skipped content" obsessed people who cried the loudest. But this was much more artistic liberties than cut content this episode.
@aerostorm_ idk, I've looked at a few of the comments in different videos and more than half have been long essays complaining about cut content. I've seen very very few from novel readers complimenting this episode. I loved it tho, the LN readers are becoming the twitter feed they hate so much 🤣
I mean it's hard shutting up about such a great fucking series lol, of course we're going to be disappointed because really it's that good. I feel the same way about Re:Zero, I feel the same way about Slime, I absolutely feel the same way about Shield Hero. The books are great guys, you should read them.
@@Panthromise 100%! Read the books everyone, it's always a great experience and adds a ton on top of the animes! now... Yeah I won't lie and say this episode was perfect... because it certainly wasn't at all in terms of adaptation, but looking at it from an anime only standpoint I guess it was pretty good. Still... considering what COULD'VE been, it's a shadow of its former self, not an exaggeration. I think people don't realize that LN readers aren't saying "boohoo this episode sucks!" but instead "...Yeah it was good... BUT it could've been SO MUCH BETTER!" Well, have a great day, people!
One thing that the show has really not done much of making clear up until this point, polyamory is completely normal and socially accepted in this world. Followers of Millis are the only people who view it as controversial, which is why nobody really blinks at it except for Rudy and viewers. In the LN, its actually presented as a really cool way that subverts expectations and does some interesting character development at the same time, but it was basically removed from the anime. I'll put it below because it's pretty long, but I'll say this about this episode: regardless of how things turn out, Rudy's actions were still cheating. Obviously, all things exist on a spectrum and all things considered, it's not the WORST instance of cheating (Sylphy's apathy towards an open marriage, the severity of his depression, and his desire to still do right by her), but given that he made a promise to be faithful to her and failed, it's still a betrayal of trust. That has to be acknowledged. However, the thing that sets MT apart from it's peers is that it really tackles messy things that a lot of other stories handle shallowly and for the drama or power fantasy with real earnest emotion. Rudy doesn't cheat because he's the protagonist and wants a harem. He does it in a moment of deep vulnerability with someone who he trusts and loves and likely would have married under different circumstances, and only comes to the decision to try polyamory after extensive self-reflection and wrestling with his own doubts about his motives. It's rare to see that sincerity in stories that deal with such complicated topics. (This isnt a spoiler and is mostly about the fight Zenith and Paul had when he got Lillia pregnant and how they reconciled) From Rudy's perspective, the drama between Paul and Zenith happened because of the cheating aspect, but we slowly learn that isnt (exactly) the case. Zenith was raised in the Millis church, but had a falling out with her family and ran away to become an adventurer. While travelling, she slowly started to question her faith and almost altogether abandon it. When she and Paul got together, she was mostly out of it but still had a few hangups and things she wanted to hold onto, like monogamy, but Paul had basically lived his entire life in a culture that accepted polyamory, so she made him promise not to sleep with any other women and he agreed. When he got Lillia pregnant, Zenith wasnt upset about "cheating" so much as a broken promise, but at the same time, she had now spent the better part of a decade completely out of the church and began questioning how necessary the promise was in the first place. She was still hurt by the betrayal, but after reflecting, decides that she isnt as opposed to it as she used to be and decides to open the marriage to Lillia. We spend a while in Rudy's shoes making the same assumptions he does about what happened, only to later get Zenith's perspective in a way that really turns your expectations on their head and explores both Zenith's character and the world in one fell swoop. That happens very early on, so there's a lot more time in the LN to adapt to it as a cultural norm (both for us and Rudy), but the anime basically waits until the last second it's relevant to bring up, which makes it feel far more like an excuse for Rudy's behavior than anything else.
I saw this coming a million years ago, But expected to happen with Eris tbh, Ever since he married sylphy, the multiple wives route was obvious to me, I thought Eris would comeback and he'll marry her too, Maybe because I live in a society were polygamy is common, Like... Cheating and age gap aside..., Him marrying Roxy was a very normal and obvious solution to me
Also as a novel reader spoilers ahead In the end Rudeus will have 3 wives. Sylphie, Roxy and Eris. He already married Sylphie, by the end of season 2 he will also marry Roxy, and as I said in my original comment if they announce a third season Eris will be the third wife. Also by the end he will have 6 kids 2 from each wife. I'm not gonna say much about the kids but he will have 2 sons and 4 daughters. The order of the kids is Sylphie - daughter Roxy - daughter Eris - son Sylphie - son Roxy - daughter Eris - daughter Thats all I'm gonna say about the kids noting more. Just somethings to look forward to in future seasons
Technically it was cheating, it has some potentially mitigating circumstances in my opinion, and we will see Sylphie's next episode. Expect me to fill in stuff that will probably get left out. Polygamy in and of itself is not cheating, as long as whatever rules the people involved have set up aren't violated. What those rules are are definitely going to change depending on if anyone/everyone involved is, for example: Christian, Hindu, Atheist, or Rudy's Church of Two Goddesses.
Relationship history here: 1. Ruddey meets roxey, 2. Ruddey is able to leave the house because of 3. Able of leaving the house he was able to meet selphy 4. Loving selphy he needed money to go to school with her 5. He needs a job to get money 6. The job is teaching eries In conclusion, Rudey would not have known eries if it wasn't for selphy and he would not have known selphy if it wasn't for roxy.....
About your discussion about bonding with his family. The problem is that he left them when he was 5 or 7 years old so he didn't grow up with them :/ He didn't have the chance to bond
Rudeus has had a bit over seven years to bond with Zenith, and the same plus three weeks to bond with Paul, and he was always closer to Paul than Zenith, since Paul wanted to be the cool dad, but ended up more like a buddy dad for most of the time. Those three additional weeks were some of the most impactful for Rudeus' bonding with him. A week in Millishion (title drop!) and two weeks in Rapan. Some of the short stories set during vol 1 are heartrending to read after this point in the story, with Paul teaching Rudeus how to read and playing tresure hunter when he was still three years old.
This episode really made me think a lot about quite a few things regarding Rudy. Firstly I was very glad to see Roxy actually admitting she took advantage of him cause that is what happened at the end of the day. I would say it still counts as cheating for sure regardless of what Sylphie says for the future, in those instances before she made a decision it will still be an instance that he did cheat, especially the however many times he did it after the first time. It's hard to say much without a biased mindset when it comes to polyamorous relationships cause I'd say a large majority of people watching has been raised with the "normal" thoughts of remaining faithful to a single person. Obviously comments can be made about how society is very different in a medieval fantasy world, especially one where strength is a massive driving factor to an individuals position in the world which also affords them luxuries like multiple partners. That kind of thing is very common and it's not like that kind of relationship doesn't exist in our world to, in this case though the issue does still remain that he started a relationship before having the approval of Sylphie and that's wrong in very obvious ways. The other side of this episode, being the emotional connections he basically didn't have with his parents. The way I look at it is that it wasn't really under Rudy's control in many ways. There's all the things that was mentioned in the video but on top of that we do have to remember that he was sent away from home pretty young and then the whole teleportation catastrophe happened so he really didn't spend much time at all with Paul and Zenith, if anything it always felt like Rudy actually started building a bond with Paul for the first time when they met after the catastrophe happened and they got into that fight and he never had an equivalent moment with Zenith. I do hope Zenith can recover so they can have a proper connection but Mushoku Tensei has never felt like that kind of a show. TLDR: I do agree with the sentiment that no matter what happens in terms of Sylphie's decision, Rudy did cheat however many times that he did although I can't fully blame him for the first time because he was very clearly nearing that same tipping point that he hit at the end of S1 in terms of despairing. World setting does play a part in how easy it is for polyamory to exist but it doesn't change that what he did was wrong. Plus Rudy with his very unique mindset in many ways, did not spend anywhere near enough time with his family in the new world in order to build a real bond so it makes sense why he basically made the exact same mistake that he did with his parents in the old world.
"Roxy actually admitting she took advantage of him" That's her off-ramp. She wants to be with him, but since he's married, she thought she couldn't. So she tries to emphasize her ulterior motives in helping him in order to make it easier for him to leave her behind. "I do hope Zenith can recover so they can have a proper connection" Rudeus was still barely holding it together up to Zenith waking up, with him expecting to connect with Zenith and grieve over Paul with her. Then she woke up and showed her current state, shattering his heart. He lost his chance in deepening his connection with Paul and he's been denied any possibility of forming a proper connection with Zenith in addition to any existing connection being broken. "Rudy did cheat however many times that he did" It was only that once, but he did offer to be Roxy's lover for the duration of the voyage since he understood that she loves him and wants to be with him. Roxy is mature enough to reject the offer, since she was convinced she'd lose that connection anyway.
Conquer the dungeon? Where's the boss chest? Although, from the way the Hydra was setup, it appears that Zenith was the boss' drop. ------ He met Roxy first. It wasn't until Roxy gave him a magic exam OUTSIDE THE HOUSE that he was able to walk around and meet Sylphie. ---- If you buy slaves in order to free them, you're subsidizing the next round of slave captures. I know that LN reader is not happy with the not 1:1 adaptation . But in this scene rudeus roxy interaction is so emotional and cute . For me i think its still a great masterpiece. Really love this episode concludes
I get how Adorkable feels. Irl, the highest priority of people is to do the right thing, even if it sucks. It is not personal happiness. But just like Nanahoshi said, the morals of this isekai world are all screwed up and it's not quite the same rules as here. In any case, if the adaptation is done right for next episode, then some of these issues will be addressed.
some context that the show missed... Rudy wasnt coming out of room for at least a week. no eating. barely drinking some water. so the rest of the guys and girls down at the camp fire had a conversation and they came to the conclusion that sex would help him get off his axx. The first suggestion was the brothel but then they understood rudy wouldnt do anything with someone he doesnt know and trusts. Everyone looked at Elinalise but she declined because of her grand daughter. Then they looked at Lilia and she said "nope we are family" Then Roxy said i'll do it, i'll do it. She didn't just came up with a cunning plan to enter the room by herself and try to take advantage of him. That was the only solution the group could come up with to make him get back on his feet and start functioning again.
I mean personally, as an anime only, I think that is pretty obvious from one look at Rudeus in the episode. Lee and the others even verbatim said he wasn't eating after just one look at him. The context is there through the visuals.
For a context about millis, this millis religion coming from Millis continent you can look at the Mushoku Tensei Map. The place that when Paul and Rudy fighting. They praised the God of Millis. The person that following this religion is Zenith, Norn, Cliff so far. zenith coming from this Continent and she one of nobble there and paul said that this is her homeland in his message, but she choose to out from that family and become and adventure just like paul. In millishion there's a 2 fraction. Fraction that againts demon race and the fraction that ok with Demon race. The current pope is the fraction that ok with Demon Race. And about zenith family they're againts demon race. Zenith mother also kinda bad too, she teaches Norn and Aisha about how bad demon is. But norn change her mind after meet Ruijerd. And also her roommate also demon race, The bird one we see her in eps 17. Zenith Mom also a BIG donator for the Teleportation Incident research Team. Did you watch the OVA? The Pope he sent the assassin and about to kill a child. Cliff said that she's probably be a Next Pope And cliff also said that she's a blessed child just like zanoba. But what power? Idk. The reason why pope want to kill her, its because she came from the fraction that against Demon Race. So to stop this fraction the pope sent assassin's to kill the next pope candidates, But its stopped by Eris. Its not a Spoiler its a cut content.
"God of Millis" is left unclear entirely. The Seven Gods of old are either dead or missing as far as the people of that world are concerned, and the nebulously defined God of their prayers and chants is an unknown entity to the reader. Millis adherents pray to Saint Millis as an intercessor.

- In one fell swoop we enter "THAT MOMENT"
-When Elinalize was trying to convince Rudeus, they skipped the moment where he flatly refused to accept Roxy and she tricked him by telling him that Roxy was pregnant.
It's sad to see that people can't differ fiction from reality and start hating the author for the stuff he write even when it's clear that this fictional world has different law's and cultures
Instead of enjoying the story they are more focused on imposing their morals on characters and world that is not even real 😂😂

@@TWYOP Ya if someone has a modicum of media literacy, they caught on to all of that by the time the episode ended. The source readers need to give people, and the anime director/Rifujin more credit.

@@4rch0711 it definitely would've been great if they had that group meeting scene, but Roxy DID say that everyone was worried about Rudeus.

Always luv u guys discussions after the show❤
Yah, they left out a ton and actually changed some things from the light novel in this episode.
Appreciate their hard work🙌
yea, I feel like that is SUPER important. Otherwise people gonna shit on Roxy.....
*GOTTA CATCH EM ALL*
Regarding Sylphie saying she was cool with Rudeus looking elsewhere: At that same time he insisted that he wouldn't. If Rudy has the right to both change his mind AND expect Sylphie to keep her original decision, then Sylphie has the same right to change her mind, and expect Rudy to keep his word. The answer is to communicate with your spouse, not take people for granted. That's true IRL or magical polygamy world.

Like her mom, Norn was raised on a religion that absolutely HATES polygamy. She is going to try to tear her brother a new one when she finds out. And also for some extreme spoilers (so don't read past this if you don't want spoilers):
The polygamy thing is actually what partially snaps Zenith out of her vegetable state, cause she slaps Rudy when she finds out he has 3 wives way later (Sylphy, Roxy, and Eris).

Do you know what chapters these were in Volume 12?
mushoku tensei is always putting us in complex situations and showing us that they cant be described as single words like "cheating"
Cheating has absolutely occurred lmao. I don't think the show is shying away from that fact. They know that they both are in the wrong here even if it was a moment of despair and desperation. It's perfectly fine to understand that it was in fact cheating but understanding each characters thought processes.
Therapy and rehabilitation is not cheating

Rudy, Roxy and Sylphie... I feel bad for anyone pulling up on that family looking for trouble
Whole thing:
"One day I will bump into a tall, handsome human man who can still make childish expressions. In the depths of a labyrinth he will save me. We will combine our strengths to make our escape, and our love will bloom and blossom. By the time we escape the labyrinth, he will hear of his friend passing. I will be there to comfort him, and that will be our first night together."
They left out the bit of his friend dying and her comforting him over it.
Back in those days medieval times that was pretty common so if people are mad lol it's pretty much in the 11 hundreds to 13 hundreds kinda time .
"no way he's gonna end up with none..." 16:50

I cannot wait to see that damn rat
someone said that the morals of our world don't apply 1:1 in a different world, as we have been shown time and time again through both season 1 and 2.
And will further see so in the future. Rudeus going native is a lifelong project that I doubt he ever fully completes.
For next week's episode remember that only Norn was raised in the Millis religion while she was in Millishion with Paul
10:13 Ya'll....why would he need a hand that he still has? Lolz. I fucking love ya'll.
A lot of cut content on this episode, really messes up the characterizations, most important ones are these two imo:
-They skipped Roxy learning about Rudy being married.
Rudy is One step ahead of his father, He has three swords.

Yeah. If people are explaining things. I dont even read it lol. I only read original thoughts or opinions. Which i can generally tell now in first few works.
Like yours. You can tell you not giving information in the opening sentence . Lol
Yaboyroshi and yaboyrocklee are my favorite reaction channels
Love your reaction on this episode. Good opinion with actually applying everything that showed in anime.
Twitter/twitch people (and just who doesn't think properly on situation) is on fire rn. But when they wasn't? Its not even sad, its fun af.
Sadly they really skipped important parts (which makes Roxy decision is a bit weird). But for animeonly I guess it's acceptable.
Gotta Catch them all... !!!!
5:00 already knew that boy was going to cheat, but then again it was Roxy who was taking advantage of a weakened man 👀
He probably would have had a bigger bond with his parents if he hadn't been away from them for 10 years. Also its still cheating, its probably on the more understandable end of cheating but its totally up to Sylphy if she accepts that or not, honestly not sure if him being in love with Roxy as well makes that situation better or worse for Sylphy, she will likely be fairly understanding though.

I loved it tho, the LN readers are becoming the twitter feed they hate so much 🤣
Amen brother it's become so annoying, like trying to enjoy sleep and a mosquito keeps buzzing around your head
BUT it could've been SO MUCH BETTER!"
Well, have a great day, people!
My God, look at the outrage in the thumbnail lmao
(This isnt a spoiler and is mostly about the fight Zenith and Paul had when he got Lillia pregnant and how they reconciled)
From Rudy's perspective, the drama between Paul and Zenith happened because of the cheating aspect, but we slowly learn that isnt (exactly) the case.
I saw this coming a million years ago,
But expected to happen with Eris tbh,
Ever since he married sylphy, the multiple wives route was obvious to me,
I thought Eris would comeback and he'll marry her too,
Maybe because I live in a society were polygamy is common,
Like... Cheating and age gap aside..., Him marrying Roxy was a very normal and obvious solution to me
20:10 YOU GET ONE WIFE!! Nick Miller voice
"Side chick of the century bro" LOL
Thats 2/3 wives. Eris will be the 3rd in season 3, if and when they ever announced it.
Also as a novel reader spoilers ahead
In the end Rudeus will have 3 wives. The order of the kids is
Sylphie - daughter
Roxy - daughter
Eris - son
Sylphie - son
Roxy - daughter
Eris - daughter
Thats all I'm gonna say about the kids noting more. Just somethings to look forward to in future seasons
Maybe put the spoiler warning in the original post, and maybe delete the actual spoiler.
Erza's silence throughout the episode had me dying. Meanwhile, Rocklee and DirectorNasty are dabbing each other up over these AntiMillis ethics.
This is not Erza lol. My wife is a totally different person. Erza is my wife on one piece

Love the Marin/My Dress Up Darling Shirt there Rock.
Relationship history here:
1. Ruddey meets roxey,
2. Ruddey is able to leave the house because of
3. Able of leaving the house he was able to meet selphy
4. Loving selphy he needed money to go to school with her
5. He needs a job to get money
6. The job is teaching eries
In conclusion, Rudey would not have known eries if it wasn't for selphy and he would not have known selphy if it wasn't for roxy.....
dual wield arc is real!
About your discussion about bonding with his family. The problem is that he left them when he was 5 or 7 years old so he didn't grow up with them :/ He didn't have the chance to bond
Yup.
Blud didn't eat for several days and becoming skeleton 😂, then Roxy drained it again, like WTF?! Broo…
Conquer the dungeon? Where's the boss chest?
Although, from the way the Hydra was setup, it appears that Zenith was the boss' drop.

He met Roxy first. It wasn't until Roxy gave him a magic exam OUTSIDE THE HOUSE that he was able to walk around and meet Sylphie.

17:24 Hail Our Sacred Goddess, Roxy the Mage!
I know that LN reader is not happy with the not 1:1 adaptation . But in this scene rudeus roxy interaction is so emotional and cute . For me i think its still a great masterpiece. Really love this episode concludes
Not Pauls son! Thats all on Roxy here. But her motivations and why she did what she did makes more sense in the novel.
Man, she did not like this at all😂
Man, the look at adorkable face throughout the episode 🤣.
This episode will end up being controversial for some cultures.
Then they looked at Lilia and she said "nope we are family"
Then Roxy said i'll do it, i'll do it.
Grandma knows best 😅
