Hearing Les talk about some of his fondest memories of his childhood and they were literally my fondest memories as well. I grew up in the same town as Les, fishing in the same bay with my dad, uncles and grandfather.
Was 12 or 13 when I discovered Primus and never in a million years did I think 30 years later I'd be watching a fishing documentary staring Les.

I haven't been that part of Idaho fir over 35 years when I was just a little kid. Forgot how much it looks like parts of OR where I am from.
I love watching shit like this with musicians. I dont want to watch interviews about the new album or what not. I want to know what type of stuff these guys are into. I knew Les loved to fish. But fly fishing surprised me. Way cool.

My dear-ol-Dad always had a boat. We fished in the Gulf for mackerel bonita, hardtail, mahi mahi.. all kinds even landed a barracuda once. ling cod, cats, skates. sharks.. never knew what ya hooked.
Les is the most incredible guy a living legend . Like Danzig or Maynard just magnificent guys.

This is crazy, always loved Primus, the Flying Frog Brigade, and all of Les Claypool's offshoots. I have been fly fishing for a decade now and never knew Les Claypool did too...This is awesome.

I love that in the US you can just load up a 4x4 and boat, drive off road and fish where you want. In the UK you wouldn't be allowed to leave the road, the river would have signs saying no boating, no fishing and no swimming. If you did find somewhere you would need around licence and permit to fish which would need to be purchase in advance from a store 10 miles away.
I get it now. Been fishing nearly every day (local ponds after work with occasional bigger excursions) for the past few years and it really keeps me sane.
Just bought a nice little Carolina Skiff, can’t wait to get it in the water

Its always amazing to see people from all walks of creative come to spend time on the water, waiting for that one moment in life when that tug on your fly becomes so alive, you recognized it's all about the journey and the stories , that have consumed your life with memories. Such a epic adventure for Mr Claypool. Im no music Guru but I am a fly fisherman.
I certainly come alive when there's a tug on my fly.

1 more reason to like this guy, he's a humble fisherman taught by his dad when he went to visit dad as a kid. It's fantastic way to bond w/ your kids creating everlasting memories and a great way to teach them to respect nature.

Been there - ID, MT, WY. Trout on fly, doesn't get any better. Chasing the albies off the OR coast and swabbing bloody decks is the ultimate for me as well.
Some of the lyrics of the Claypool Lennon Delirium songs, e.g. Little Fishes, suddenly come into stark contrast. We've ruined most every waterway.
