@@AbeVentures I am at Geraldton. But I fish at Dongara 🤙
@@qmp666 Cool, mate. I’m looking to visit Geraldton and have been reading threads to get tips on where I can target pelagics. What month do they usually come by?
Do you have any advice on what to expect when launching from Drummond Cove?
Do you fish from off kayak as well though?
@AbeVentures land based here. BUT WAS ONCE A COMMODORE OF A FISHING CLUB After the salmon run and tailor run should come the bigger palagics. Follow the FOOD CHAIN. BASICALLY SPEAKING.
Krill
Whales. Flick lures around whales. Big black King under the whales.
Makeral follow the pilchard run. Then the snapper. Find bombies and fish the lack of current on the bombie. Eg lighter and the bottle trick. The fish sit in the slack current. ( Max food.. might Energy ).
Marinate your chicken strip's in honey soy sauce. $ 1 from supermarket. Pre cut slices and baged in a zip lock bag. Fish as light as the current will let you. Guaranteed BIG FISH. BASICALLY. BE STRATEGIC AND DONT LEAVE RODS AT HOME HA HA. STUDY THE FOOD CHAIN AND WATER TEMP. A SLOW RISING BARAMETRIC PREASURE IS BEST. 1020 FISH A PLENTY
1025 FISH ALIVE
FIND THE FOOD CHAIN....
And keep a log book.
Moon phases barometer preasure
Water temp. Current water salinity. If it is to salty DONT GO.if its green go south of its blue go deep
@AbeVentures dark moon big eye fish. Squid jew snapper most pelagics.
Full moon small eyed fish. Target hunt species 7 to 10 days before the full moon and etart 7 days after the full for snapper again. Work the tide change lul tide if possible. 2 Hour b4 and up 2 hrs after. Moon quarter up is good to
Hi mate when your out on the ocean do you have much trouble with sharks hanging around your kayak..thanks
No, mate, I had a few encounters before I started filming my trips. They just came to have a look for a few minutes, then disappeared. They seem to be camera shy; I haven't seen any since.
I believe it was a Grey Mackerel. minimum size is 75cm
Cheers mate, still kicking myself for not bringing it in quickly for for a close look 😝
@@AbeVentures good fighting fish but are only 3 star eating so dont be to mad
