Melissa is one of the most talented and versatile vocalists in today’s metal scene. Her own band is Ad Infinitum and, together with Hans (gtr, Feuerschwanz) Jenny (harp, Feuerschwanz) and Morten (drums, Amaranthe, her husband) created a band named The Dark Side of the Moon). Bands that a worth a check ! 🤘🏼🐨🤘🏼
Feuerschwanz are so much fun 😀 I can recommend their originals Berzerkermode and Bastard von Asgard. Both amazing songs. Melissa Bonny are the vocalist in the band Ad Infinitum If you want to check out more from her 😀
People have commented that Melissa stole the show here (which she kind of did) but no one can convince me that Feuerschwanz didn't exactly knew what they were doing when they invited her. Their original material is usually in German but in 2020 they started doing covers in English too and since have re-recorded some of their own songs in English. In fact, "I See Fire" was their first ever song recorded in English (I prefer the live version feat. Angus McFife [aka Thomas Winkler aka Angus McSix] over the music video but others might oppose). Francesco Cavalieri from Wind Rose (translated version of their own song "Kampfzwerg" [Battle Dwarf / Fight Dwarf]) The lady with the blue hair in the video, Momo Indigo aka Svenja Metzner, is the wife of long haired singer & multi-instrumentalist Prinz 'Hodi' Hodenherz aka Ben Metzner, she designs and manufactures many of Feuerschwanz's costumes.
Ok if you going to listen to this band there’s 3 songs you need to watch/listen to they are die Horner hoch …das elfte gebot and lastly feuer a flamme….im half English half German trust me do not sleep on this bad and also the singer with the long haired has his own band there’s song I would recommend from them is d'artagnan westwind d'artagnan is his band
I have mixed feelings about Feuerschwanz. They used to be an increcibly funny parody band that wasn't doing Metal at first, just the contemporary Medieval Folk Rock that was popular at that time. I think their switch to Metal happened on the album that featured this song. And it was a phenomenal album, which combined their old strengths and new. Unfortunately (IMO) after the international success the albums after that were pretty much pure Metal and along the way they lost much of the diversity in lyrics and melodies. And the newest album was full of old songs simply translated to English, which sounds like sell-out to me. I really hope they will take a step back eventually.
