I have been fumbling around on my new m1 for 2 months now. This explanation has finally put it all together for me. That gap between full-on modular and this wonderful beast is far less daunting now. thank you thank you thank you, Brennan. Now onwards to your other moogOne vids!
Thanks for making this video. Love the camera angle, lighting and minimalism. Some simple explanatory videos would be great for inspiration. 1:40 The VCO coarse tune is 7 semitones up or down, not an octave. I've had one of these for 9 months and the presets sound amazing. As a synth beginner, I found myself more drawn to the model D and the grandmother, as what you see is what you get. The ability to save presets on polyphonic analogue synth is a privilege; the drawback is it's impossible for the viewer to know what's going on.
Hi Robot Boogie. Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video. And catching those kind of information gaps is always appreciated. I agree I do love the Matriarch DFAM and M32 as well but being able to snapshot and safe the way you can on the Moog One is definitely a quick way to push the sound.
Hi mate. Why does my One sound awful with the volume all the way up? My ob6,Matrixbrute and all my synths in fact don’t have this issue when full volume is applied, just the Moog? I’m puzzled?? Cheers. 👍🏻
Hi Duke of Pearl. Thanks for leaving the comment. There a lot of spots of gain staging available on the Moog one that there is room to create some real gnarly sounds. Your mixer section should sound great maxed out on all three oscillators and noise though. Check the level amount (under the volume) to blend all three synth engines together. The level amount will control the synth you have selected In the focus panel. I hope this helps you find the sound you are after!
@@brennangalley3964 well I’ve tried everything mate. Still shrills and sounds distorted with ANY volume increased? Personal invite to walk me through it maybe? Although I’ve tried. Thanks. Jim🙏🏼
@@dukeofpearl hi Jim. Yes. Let’s connect. My email address is brennan.galley@sfm.ca I don’t currently have a Moog One in my space but I’m happy to hang out with you while you show me what you’re up to and offer some tips.
@@brennangalley3964 hi Brennan. I think all’s ok now. It behaves very differently to my other analog gear. It’s very sensitive. Got the VCA controlling volume now. I think I was just pushing OSC 1 2 and 3 too hard. It once again sounds gorgeous. Thanks for the advice. I worked around what you told me to and all’s good! Cheers mate👍🏻
@@dukeofpearl great news. Well I’m always there for you so if anything comes up send me an email and we can chat all things Moog One. Have a great day.

Can you control the cutoff for all 3 of the synths with one knob? Thats the issue i'm dealing with rn.
Of course. just select all three synths using the panel focus

how would you compare the individual osc to say a cem 3340 osc?
Thanks for your question. i've never sat down and compared the two. If I get the change to I will add to this post.
Grazie
