We are in our 1st year of retirement and enjoy our location of 20 plus, years. But, we are keeping our options open and may consider a major move in the next 12-18 months.

Hi Keith- thanks for this. It is a big move and one that we didn't take likely, but for us it worked on two fronts- moving to a place we have always dreamed of and also closer to my mum for care needs. We did spend a lot of time deliberating this aspect of our ER.
      Thanks again👍

We can’t believe we have actually done it as it has always been a place we loved to visit and could only dream of living there one day x

Thanks very interesting. We are debating all the same things with similar budget too. Enjoy the US.

For us there is not a huge amount that comes up for sale in the Dales in our price range and seemingly the estate agents try to generate a sealed bids war but we were fortunate to win and we haven’t looked back. Hopefully only a few more weeks and the house will be finished 🏡

Sounds a perfect place to move to. So near to the countryside.and accessible to family still.

15 months later we still pinch ourselves that we live here and love returning home after our travels. Our family are also starting to see it as a ‘holiday home’ to stay at while we are away which is so lovely 🏡

I've run many scenarios and the easiest money for us in retirement will be letting rooms in our house. For tax reasons this will be more of a long-term arrangement rather than Airbnb. In Ireland you can rent rooms in your primary residence and pay no tax on the income. We've already started even though I haven't retired yet, just to get a feel for how we can make this work.
