There is no issue with eta movements. I've had many and still do and they have never been a problem. I do however agree that watches that use eta movements even heavily modified shouldn't charge some of the prices they do unless precious metals

Typically these high end brands are not simply using an off the shelf movement. They are typically highly modified for the job. These companies have a wealth of heritage as well. Is it Rolex? Nothing is. You have to leap frog to Patek and AP.

Ok, here it is plain and simple, I'm gonna give you a scenario that is self explanatory as to which watch is deemed a shitter, and which is deemed value. You, AC3, walk into an expensive steakhouse. You order up the 12 oz rib-eye with all the trimming, a $500 bottle of wine, and desert. At the end of the meal, the waiter presents you the bill for $750. You reach into your pocket for your wallet and realize you left it at home. You have a dilemma on your hands. The waiter looks at you disapprovingly and quite upset. So...........................you pull out all 5 watches from your collection and place them on the table in front of you. You look at the waiter and say to him "Look, I'm a goof...........I forgot my wallet at home..............which watch from my collection will you take as collateral so's I can run home and get my wallet and pay you???" With the waiter's limited knowledge in watches, which one do you think he's going to pick?????????? That my friend, is a brand that is of value, and recognized, and will NEVER be a shitter and you can NEVER go wrong with.
yeah, the only problem is that the waiter and then the manager take one look at this guy Puto (or Andy Cunter for that matter)............and all are presumed copies from the Philippine factory pounding them out for 79.90 USD.........so both of them end up washing dishes......after blowing two cops and a the busboy.......

He whips off his watch and leaves it as security while he goes home. The watch? A solid gold Rolex President. Sadly he came back later, paid his bill and took his watch.
It's not a shitter... but it's very bland to me. I rate it beneath Omega. A step above Breitling. The Portuguese is the only one worth getting. Those pilot watches are nothing to write home about.

IWC with in-house Pelaton movement is a great watch and relatively easy to service.
