- Relaxing nature video of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. The Southern Amazon is home to an astonishing diversity of birds and wildlife. In only five days we were able to capture over 100 different species of birds, mammals and reptiles. We spotted all five kingfishers present in the area and many macaws, parrots and parakeets. We also came accross the tapir, the giant otter and the white-lipped peccari. High up in the trees we saw white-cheeked spider monkey, brown tufted capuchin and the white-nosed saki. True highlight were the mighty Harpy eagle and the primeval looking Hoatzin.
Welcome to our birding and wildlife expedition in July 2023 to the Cristalino River in the Southern Amazon in Brazil. We stayed five nights at the wonderful Cristalino Jungle Lodge and would like to thank the excellent staff and our amazing guide Roberto for this outstanding experience.

Total interessant und wunderschön bebildert! Ich war vor ca. 35 Jahren mal in einer Dschungel Lodge bei Manaus. Dort hatten wir auch ein paar Highlights, aber Vögel konnten wir nur ganz wenige entdecken.

Wieder ein klasse Video von Euch. Wir waren 2018 in der Cristalino Lodge für 3 Nächte. Wir haben auch viel gesehen aber ihr habt ja eine erstaunliche Sichtungsglück gehabt. Tapir haben wir leider nicht entdeckt auch nicht im Pantanal. Aber die Vogelvielfalt ist schon beeindruckend. Das Hide wo die Vögel gebadet haben gab es auch noch nicht. Aber auf dem Beobachtungsturm waren wir auch ganz oben. Auch hatten wir immer das Boot für uns ganz allein. Man freut sich einfach wenn man bekannte Orte wieder sieht😊👍🤗

Hi , I'm a retired amateur birder lived in Japan. I really impressed your pictures and videos at Cristalino river Lodge in Brazil. In addition, the taken videos is so clear and the resolution is much higher than I've ever seen . If you don't mind and find any problems, kindly requested, could you tell me what kinds of gears( cameras and lenses) you have used on this trip in Amazon . Looks like Sony ? I have been using Sony and Cannon for taking pics of birds .

We use Olympus/OM-Systems lenses and cameras, in particular the OM-1 and the 300mm f/4 PRO prime lens and the 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO and the 12-100mm f/4 PRO zoom lenses. For the action shots we use GoPro Hero Black 11. Wishing you all the best and best regards, Markus
Thank you so much for your quick reply. Now I understand why your pictures is so sharp for birds in nature even in far distance . Probably you have used 300mm/f4 (600mm in full size conversion)for taking pics for the birds. Ohnestly saying, I have also OM-1as a subcamera but lense is 100-400mm. I have heard from friend 300mm/f4 is the best resolution on OM system. However on birding I normally use Sony/A1 and Cannon/R5 as a main, but a liitle bulky and heavy. But I really noticed OM-1 system would be very handy and fast AF even for the birds in flying.
I will think about the way to use of my gears .
