Yes, but…some of the old luxury bldgs. don’t have updated wiring for today’s advanced electronics, and water pipes can be a constant problem. In addition, many units need to be gut renovated, but bldg. rules can make that very difficult, and very expensive. For a/c, I hope you like window units, which are the norm in many places. And the HOA fees can be much higher than newer condos. In efforts to keep those high monthly fees down, many places skip on maintenance. But the flow of layouts, finishes, and sheer size in the luxury prewars can't be beat, even by the best of billionaires row.

Because the MoMA Tower is built with an “exoskeleton” exterior and not all of the beams go vertically. The soonest mimic the outer skeletal beams.
