So i had a local collectables store put the blacklight on my mtg cards and about a dozen out of 80 did not react and the clerk told me they were fake. I pulled them directly from packs out of a box from my lgs. Premium store, so i know they are genuine. My question is, is the blacklight used for older sets specifically? Thanks!@DualBrainMTG

3:17 I am piecing together that Pokemon is really off as a collectible. I think it is heading for a crash. Demand is driving a price on something that is more common than old MTG just because there are more players? this does not hold in the long run in terms of rarity. Supply is out there with high demand and high price? Bad equation there. 2004 and back rule is working with many things so maybe the older Poke is safe? Not my gig but I am seeing holes in it.

They look darker as they do not absorb the UV and fluoresce. They have a coating which blocks it, and look dark…

lol old foils bending like that doesn't mean they've been played. It's just what foils did back than due to what humidity would do to the card stock on the back of the card.

@@DualBrainMTG well that's what I do as well. Or I scoop decent MINT cards from them. Some don't like their made up MINT but I have only had a very few problems with how that did that a few years ago.

I hear ya dude. Makes me wanna visit the various flea markets near me.
I like how there is no fogging on the foils, you even said it was from "touching and surface abreactions".
But then why did you remove them from there sleeves, which kept them nice all these years, and just start touching them and rubbing them together?
Most foils curve or just are curved. THat is not bad condition.
I can't help but think how easy it would be to slip cards into a bulk flea market buy for views. Doing things for views is no stretch...if this is legit, right on man.
