I can't decide what I liked most . You pulling so many soul rings, the quadruple surprise, the number of rats, or that they just forgot that green is in the game.
I had a friend back in high school circa 1999 that just couldn't seem to build a deck. He could play well just couldn't build a deck. I watched him rage quit burning his whole collection in my back yard. It had many alpha and beta cards. I tried to get him to give them to me(we didn't know their worh) but he set it all ablaze.
I've never been so mad yet so proud of another magic player getting such a profit like this. This is so incredibly rare I've never seen it in person nor has it happened to me
In ye ole days of Magic: Black borders were used for first print and white borders were used in reprints. So white border 1995 cards are likely 4th edition which also did NOT have a set symbol. 6th was the first Core set to have a set symbol.
Just to clarify a bit because I've been doing far too much research on this lately. Alpha and Beta are black border with no date at the bottom of the card. Beta is a reprint, but still has a black border. Both just have illus and the name of the illustrator. Unlimited and Revised are the same as Beta, just that they have white borders. Difference between Revised and Unlimited is that the Unlimited cards are usually darker and just look better, also there are some differences like the lands saying the word tap instead of having the symbol and exactly where the print of various words are on the cards. Unlimited cards are worth quite a bit more than revised, although not near what Beta is worth. Next up you have the Illus 1994 cards. If you have a card that says Illus 1994 without a set symbol then it's a summer of magic card which is worth quite a bit. Although this can be very hard to tell with some of the sets like the The Dark when it is on a black card. I want to say there were only four old sets that have the illus 1994 on them. Arabian Nights, Antiquities, The Dark, and Legends. Which is a bit odd since some were produced and sold before Revised, and some were right after. On average I'd say these are worth more than the revised cards, but probably less than average Unlimited cards except for maybe Arabian Nights which seems to be worth quite a bit. Then you have the Illus cards with the date below instead of in the same line. If the year is 1995 then it's a 4th edition, if it's 1997 then it's a 5th edition. If it is white border with a 1995 but also has a set symbol then that is actually Chronicles and not 4th edition. And then you get into the foreign cards and it gets weird. They are reprints, but the first prints in that language. These could be revised or 4th edition, which is just odd because you have cards that you don't normally see in black border with no set symbol that were in 4th edition. You also have renaissance which is like chronicles, but it's black border and in a foreign language. Overall these cards are usually worth a bit more than the white border versions. And there are some decent cards like dual lands that are foreign black border. They don't quite get up to the value of beta, but they get fairly close and well above revised and even unlimited. I think it's people that want black borders, and also may feel like their opponent not being able to read the card gives them an advantage. But there aren't enough people out there like that for it to go above the English black border card values.
White boarder isent always a reprint 07 main set was all white boarder and there was some originals And ally's 🤔 White boarder was to switch up traditional art so there wasent a standard look to cards Innistrad was 1/3 flip cards 🤣 just to break a mold

Hi there my man Des! Awesome come up for sure, and its awesome to see someone as you, who deserves all the good fortune (especially from WOTC in a sense nonetheless) that life may offer, comes into a find like this treasure box sure was!!! I do hate to say this, as not trying to burst any bubbles.... But maybe just make sure that some of these were not counterfeit, as a few of their colors seemed to be a bit off to me. But nothing that a jewelers loupe couldnt tell you when looked over of course, and would hate for you of all people to genuinely sell a handful of them, not really knowing and being genuine in that, but then only for some douche who bought them off of you to then go off, like many toxic peeps out there certainly can and do..... i could already see the damn Reddit boards now and I am sure some haters would love nothing more than for that to happen to you. So just a heads up bro, to maybe get at least the cards over about $20 bucks checked into, before making some major $$$ on your investment on this! Congrats again, and thanks as always for the unfiltered, REAL content my man! All the Best this summer and beyond!
You're memory is slightly skewed. But I can't blame you. 4 and 6 look similar after all. Also, can I note how weird they were with sets back then? Fifth and Sixth were Roman numerals, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth were Standard numbers (with Eighth and Ninth also having cards as an emblem), then Tenth went back to Roman numerals.
Because the vault is white bordered, that has to be either Revised (3rd edition) or Unlimited (4th edition). Don't know enough and too lazy to look up whether vault was in Revised, because not ALL the cards from Alpha and Beta were. Either way, worth a pretty penny, I believe.
Unlimited is not 4th edition. The series goes Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, Revised, 4th, etc. The card here should be revised or 4th depending if a year is printed at the bottom.
As I'm sure you figured out in post when looking them up: The first three Paths are from Modern Event Deck 2014, and the last one is from the Archenemy decks. Also, screw yo rules! I will NOT keep that to myself :P Love ya, Des. Keep up the fun videos.
You might have messed out on a lot of money over the years if you've sold over a million dollars of cards. It's just kind of crazy. What cards you freak out about and what cards you don't. There's always a process of learning. I understand and keep in mind that the lot of prices change over time. Don't be a hater on this guy. Because there's probably not many of you out here the buy lots
Unlimited. No date or copyright. Doesnt have a "T" to tap, beveled border Revised no date, or copyright. Similar to unlimited, has a T to tap, black line around border
I like your content so I hope you don’t take this as a hate comment, but after you admitted that MTG TH-camrs open 16 boxes and use the 2 best ones for box openings, there is absolutely 0 chance I believe you actually found this in a thrift store naturally. Every thrift store I’ve been in for the last 8 years has been sorting their magic card supply for high end rares
I just didn't upload the last 6 or so years of buying promising blind boxes on eBay from sellers that shouldn't know what they have and failing horribly. There's this and the red mythic one on my channel (which was like $60 lol) and that's all. 2 success vids lol.
Congratulations. Its not the most amazing. But at least quadruple your investment. Dont be silly the sell prices online are not even half as you can sell them for.
Wow brother, I don’t know how you have some much energy lol. Trying to keep up with your commentary is hard when you drink 12 cups of coffee. Nice find.
As a player from the very first they did not put rarity on the cards because they were all rare at the time and you kept calling them ancient I wonder what you call ppl my age 😂😂
The first comment that appears to me isnt in the comment section anymore, which I find odd. The comment essentially says that this collection was probably stolen due to how stacked it is. And I agree. I highly doubt any magic player with commonly competitive staples like rift, chrome mox, jeweled lotus, mana drain etc would let this go for $20. Whoever you bought this from, well, they definitely got this from doing something sketchy. And the fact that they sold it this cheap, is sus. Either the video is fake, which I dont believe youd do that, or someone got scammed/is a victim of theft. Definitely heartbroken for the guy whos cards got jacked
I don't allow lies and false accusations to be prominently featured on my channel. I know what user account i bought it from on ebay. They were a small thrift store. The end. Not stolen.
Why would you say you got scammed after finding the lands? You weren't scammed. You speculated they were something and they weren't. No one said they were something else. i get you probably didn't mean it the way it came out, but in no way were you scammed after finding the lands.

Damn. What a find. Now I'm gonna go looking for some random lots.
The lots I find are are moderately played midnight hunt commons and the like.
They’re proxies.
