    If this pilot even says the words "the earth is flat" he is immediately grounded and suspended. Thats best case scenario but we know hundreds of pilots that were ultimately terminated due to words they verbally said to passengers. Trust me folks when your income and lifestyle depends upon on it you wont dare question it. There are hundreds of independent pilots that work for themselves and they will look you dead in the eye while they tell the truth.... it's flat.

    explain emergency landing of chicago flight to doha that made an emergency landing in moscow, which on the great circle appears to be 1000 miles off the course, but on a flat earth map, the three cities are on a straight line route

    • @stephenkosciesza2706
      @stephenkosciesza2706 ปีที่แล้ว

      I certainly do not see how Chicago, Moscow, and Doha are on a straight line route on a flat map.
      But you can use Google Maps to find the Great Circle route between two places. Start at one point, invoke the "Measure Distance" feature, and click the other point. Not only will it tell you the distance, but the (usually) seemingly curved route the map will draw IS the Great Circle route.
      I just did that from Chicago to Doha. The Great Circle route (7122 miles) takes you over Labrador, over a bit of Greenland, the just skirting the south coast of Iceland. It arrives at continental Europe over Norway and Sweden. Then it goes over a part of Poland and a corner of Belarus, before crossing through Ukraine. The closest that route comes to Moscow is about 600 miles. I can sort of see making a diversion to Moscow, if you start diverting early, although it seems to me that Warsaw, or a couple of other places, would make more sense.

    • @edwarddechausay44
      @edwarddechausay44 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And that is 100% correct. Aircrafts ships/boats travel in a straight line. They only go curved when they are turning left or right or making a U turn.

It still won't get me to jump into every video about Great Circles and flight paths and the like, gloating "THAT will show all those flat-earthers who (aren't) here all over this discussion." First, I don't have this need to do that, to where I imagine flat-earthers under every rock. Second, this video in no way proves that the earth isn't flat (it wasn't meant to prove it)--any more than that Gleason map proves that it IS flat. The video ASSUMES the earth is round (which the vast majority of people know is true) to explain the apparently circuitous routes airliners take.

    Sir please make a video on how pilots find their way on an airport. While taxi to runway for departing and from runway to parking after landing.
    And on what phase do the learning pilots will get to learn these things.

    • @joes2514
      @joes2514 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pilots use 3 main methods for taxiing. First, they rely on Ground Control which are the controllers stationed on top of a control tower which allows them to see everything on the ground (in good weather). They communicate over the radio and give step by step instructions similar to a GPS. Secondly, pilots will use maps of the airport that shows them all the runways and taxiways etc. They are assisted by markings on the ground that identify where you are. Markers are placed methodically so you can make an educated guess where your next marker might be ahead of time. And lastly, pilots will eventually remember the layout of airports the more times they visit them. Memory and maps are the only things to assist pilots on uncontrolled fields, although many times there are other pilots or ground crew using radios that can help a visitor maneuver. But while on a controlled field, a pilot must obey the ground controller because he/she knows everything happening on the ground and tell a pilot when it's safe to proceed.

    Very good explanation because it included a visual representation with the wires. This also applies to satellites, and the ISS. They also follow straight lines, but appear to be curved on a 2-d map, also. The spherical nature of the Earth, coupled with her rotation really convolute what a flight path looks like on a 2-d representation. Thank you.

      The ISS travels over 17,000 mph round the globe with no propulsion holding the same distance from earth???

      @@99.9percent9yeah. Gravitational pull keeps it in orbit. When it went out it was moving at the speed earth is spinning so it goes that fast w no resistance because its space. So curvature, speed, and distance from earth stays the same.

    • @ValkyrieRiderIPT

      There's one thing you need to remember with these flat earth kooks. Not 1 person in the history of mankind has ever been to or seen the edge of this so-called flat earth and brought back a single shred of proof. We've had cameras for over 100 years and there's not 1 photo of the edge. Don't you really think if the flat earth wasn't a hoax there would be thousands of photos to prove their side. But yet, there's NONE! Think of the money and fame someone would get if they were the first to prove a flat earth.

    • @Optionvideo209

      Flat earth is the most censored topic on the internet. Flat earth is the most searched phrase on youtube. You are not a random accident spec of dust flying in a vacuum on a water ball rock that quite literally would defy natural laws. Please keep researching, much love and much peace.

      @@Optionvideo209 ****Flat earth is the most censored topic on the internet.****
      Nope!! not even close. Ukraine was the number 1 searched term in 2022. Wordle...even Betty White had more searches than flat earth. In fact, flat earth was so low in searches it's not even listed.
      This proves the belief in the the flat earth earth hoax is rapidly dying.

    If it's straight opposite then why do we go with pole. We can use Equator line also right ?!

    • @stephenkosciesza2706
      @stephenkosciesza2706 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the two points are on opposite longitude lines, then yes, the Great Circle connecting them will go through the poles. And if the two points are both on the equator, then the GC route IS the equator. If two points happen to be exactly opposite (i.e., start at one and start digging, and you'll come up at the other), then suddenly, there's an infinite number of Great Circles connecting them.
