Lead singer is William (Poogie) Hart Falsetto king with brother Wilbert Hart who is still alive at 77 years old and friend Randy Cain They defined the Romantic Philly sound .William was the main writer of lyrics and arrangements adding soft violins There is so much to say about this group. Thank you for reacting to them they are fantastic. Suggest "Didn't I blow your Mind This Time" and "Ready or Not Here I Come".. This is a group you should read about .As of July 2022 two original members had passed .William Hart lead singer passed in 2022 and randy Cain passed in 2009 at 63.. . I have loved their romantic soul music all these years thank you I've been waiting for this group. Thank you,. don't forget the Stylistics "You Made Me Feel Brand New" and more..

This song "La-La Means I Love You" came out in (1968). And it brought the Philly sound to the world. The Delfonics along with the Stylistics, Blue Magic, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes with Teddy Pendergrass and the O'jays made "Philadelphia International Records" a world renown name in the music industry. Great reaction to one of the greatest groups in music history. Their music is featured in many movies the latest being Quenton Taratino's "Jackie Brown (1997)" with Samuel L. Jackson, Pam Grier and Robert Deniro.

Listen, I’m 53 years old and I have a 15-year-old daughter and she knows this song by heart because her mama plays it all the time. This is such a beautiful song. I love a good full set of too anybody who can sing a falsetto I’m all about it.!

Great Thursday to you Jay and Amber
To further add to what other have said, The Delfonics is a great music group from the late 60s / early 70s, with long list of loved hits. Others have already recommended other songs to listen to. They have even given you the names of the group members.
My contribution is this. This song is reference in the movie "Family Man" with Nicholas Cage and Tea (Pronounced Teh-Ah) Leoni (Leh-oh-knee). It is a GREAT and endearing holiday film to watch for your movie channel. It also has some other good songs and actors you might recognize. Really hope you get around to watch this Winter Holiday season!!
Until then Many warm wishes and Blessings to your family!! Stay Golden!!

This sweet and heartbreaking little song pretty much epitomizes the Philly Soul Sound. Now you can hear where The BeeGees and Hall and Oates got their influences. Another object lesson as to why we oldtimers think today's music is one long dookey stick.

Back when I was a teenager, this was one of the songs we slow danced to. (Nothing like being held by your sweetheart to this song!) No offence to the music you have today, but we really had the BEST! So much feeling in the words and the melody. And the vocals were on spot! We were so blessed to have these singers.....❤❤❤

See, This is what I'm talking about long legendary 🎶 this song is over 55 years I remember when this song was released all their songs and albums are off the hook 🤩 they should have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the stylistics , from the group Major Harris, passed away in 2012 , lead singer of The delfonics just recently passed away in 2022 William " pookie. "Hart , The last surviving group member Wilbert Hart is still performing , one of my favorite old schooler's music 🎶 group. Old schooler's music never dies.

I read in the comment section of another reactor who did this song, the Lila comes from the lead singer is a little girl. She was little and couldn’t say I love you to her dad so she said Lala. That’s how he came up with this song Lala means I love you❤

Thanks you for your words about Philly's contribution to Soul Music ~ you brought tears of joy to old man's eyes remembering those days when local labels tapped into a goldmine of talent ~ Walnut Street Sounds were heard everywhere ~ Delfonics was only one of manySoul Groups that made AM radio great & generating instant sing alongs on corners all over that made it fun growing up in Philly

Oh, yeah. One of those fabulous guilty pleasures. Hart's voice is just beautiful and his diction is crystal clear. I was in High School about then and this song was requested from every DJ at every dance.
