@@markconnolly312 Thanks man. Nothing quite like getting drafted in wartime and having your fiance just vanish. This song and a few others from this period spoke volumes to me at the time. I moved on but damn this song is painful to hear. By the way, I never saw her again and nobody could or would tell me what became of her.
Love love love this song! I worked at a car plant near Detroit and to pass the time on the line a Brother named Luther and I would sing this song and many others he couldn’t believe I knew all these soul songs ! Great memories ! Love you two keep it up !
When a song has the ability to lift up your feelings when you are in the dumps it doesn't matter what kind of music it's supposed to represent a great song Is a great song. When I was learning my ice cream route in reading pa.a lot of radios were playing Spanish music. Now I had no idea what they were singing. But the music was catchy and lively so I just listened and enjoyed it.

They were formally the Hi-Lites but found out that name was already in use so called themselves Chi-Lites

1971 .......student union, a freshmen in college, this was on the jukebox, brings back a lot of old memories! Gotta listen to Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes "If You Don't Know Me By Now"
Chi-Lites, O-jays, Temptations, Stylistics, Delphonics, Spinners, Four Tops. There were so many of these groups in the seventies that I lost trackof who sang what. I just put the ol' transistor radio close to my ear every time one of these songs played on the AM dial.
Lead singer Eugene Record, Robert "Squirrel Lester, Clarence Johnson, Burt Bowen, and Eddie Reed. The group was formed at Hyde Park Academy High School, south side of Chicago, IL. "Have You Seen Her " was written about Eugene's first wife Sandra Scott.
That’s the Chi-Lites! Sounds like Shy from Chi-Town Chicago! Their hit OH GIRL is an All Time Classic, Just Beautiful!

I was 13 when this came out. It was played all over the radio stations. Oh, Girl is my favorite but anything they sang was so dreamy.

They were from Chicago and originally started as a group called The Hi-LightS. That name was already taken so they modified it to honor their hometown and they became The Chi-Lites. So it is Chi (long I phonetically) from Chi-town Chicago

This takes me back to 1972 when I lost out in a love game, still see her face when this song comes on. Her Name was Anne. We were so much in love, but I was in the military and being sent to Hong Kong for 2 years, but she was reluctant to wait it out. 😢

I haven't heard this one in a long time. I'm an 80s/90s kid so I hear MC Hammer's cover (I like MC Hammer don't come for me LOL) but there's nothing like the original. Especially this era of Motown/R&B. I remember seeing them at a Love Jam concert years ago. So smooth and cool. Brings back memories for sure. 😎👍

MC Hammer did a cover version of this song. I'm not sure if the Chi-Lites contributed the vocals. If I'm not mistaken, it was the follow-up to "U Can't Touch This". Or maybe it was after "Pray", I can't recall.
