Thank you Linda, we couldn't do performances this year because of the circumstances which has been frustrating, I imagine for you as well. At least we could do quite a few videos, try the one called Snowbound if you haven't seen it, the other song with a 'proper' video. Let's hope things improve next year 🙏
Thank you glad you liked it, there is a playlist of some other songs here, each one has different instruments and feel: th-cam.com/video/moHvD38PFeY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, after so many 'covers' in lockdown we wanted to get back to doing our own songs again. We chose this one as it reminds us of better days in the summer
Thanks. The video for Snowbound was shot in Sandown Bay, and Daybreak is a time lapse of Sandown at dawn. Quite inspiring to have that scenery on your doorstep!
A few of the songs were inspired by certain places or seasons as well. Do you come often to the island? What are your favorite places? There are some great places if you like scenery and walking, not so much in the way of nightlife but it's not really that kind of place.
@@Quatrapuntal I've been trice in the past 18 years, but it is definitely one of my favourite places in the UK. I wish there was more free time and money to be possible to hop over more frequently. I love nature and history, also good music, but not interested in nightlife at all, except a good concert and the like . 😊 There's plenty to see and explore on your beautiful island.
Well nature and history are two of the main attractions here, from Carisbrooke Castle to lots of historic forts and other buildings. My last video was in a Norman church just down the road from here, remarkably well preserved. I'm not from here, but moved down for all of this and certainly haven't missed the mainland! Apart from the restaurants maybe...
Thanks Robin, with the previous Snowbound video being very winter themed as you know, we wanted to do a summery one. Also with all the 'covers' done over lockdown it was important to get back to the original material, which is the point of this channel after all
Yes indeed, the music has your stamp on it. I wondered where you got all those nice tracking shots from! Those free clips are worth having. If you plan to do more stuff like this, I would be happy to try some steadicam tracking shots for you. I haven't had any occasion to use it purposely yet, but have been using it from time to time in our garden. It is an acquired technique that takes some practise.
@@robinwhitehead1132 yes they are mostly stock footage, credits are in the video description. The ones of sea birds were actually from New Zealand, although it looks like it could have been somewhere on the Isle of Wight! I used some subtle zooming to add some slight movement to the tripod shots but yes it would be better to have some more proper moving shots, they are really effective. I have a camera stabiliser, not a proper one like yours, it does smooth out the shots but it's very difficult to balance and get it super smooth. I think most professionals use the gyroscopic type now that centre themselves
@@Quatrapuntal It's true you see more of the electronic active stabilisers on TV but the steadicams are still in very much use and they are more physically difficult to use and require some skill. Their main advantage is that they don't need powering and rely on being accurately balanced, both static and dynamic. A Steadicam eliminates vertical movement whereas electronic gimbals don't. This means you can run up steps with a Steadycam and get a smooth transition.
Yes they certainly require quite a bit of practice to get right. You can apply some stabilisation in editing but it's a bit limited and can often look odd and 'wobbly'. The latest phones have built in electronic stabilsation which looks really good on demos I have seen, no idea how that is done but it surely can't be doing in in real time
Obrigado, que bom que você gostou. Depois de tantos vídeos não originais durante o bloqueio, foi importante para nós voltar às músicas originais, que são o ponto principal deste canal
Some wonderful work here . Congratulations

Beautiful and soothing.

Lovely! I've never heard anything like it before. Looking forward to exploring your songs.

Nice one Polly xx
Like it!
Thanks, the original songs are the most important things for me on the channel so glad you liked it!
Lovely song and beautifully performed by all.
