Gundam WIng is very 90s, it was very cool when I first watched it and still a fun watch now(for me). There's a lot of "angsty teen" /"grunge" era in the story and characters. My first copies were VCDs too with 420p resolution and cost more than a DVD that time lol.
Have you read the Glory of the Losers manga? It’s basically a remake of the original but trying to fit in all of the missing pieces with the Zero manga, Frozen Teardrop and Endless Waltz. It’s also not perfect but the art is gorgeous and goes a long way to make the plot more sensible even if a lot of motivations and backstory seem to be missing. Oddly enough with Wing in general, I recognize it’s a huge mess but it is one that is generally intriguing with some heady themes (ethics of mechanized warfare and what it takes to achieve lasting peace), great mecha design and characters that have a ton of potential. Makes me wish want them to fill in gaps to make more sense of everything because the plot is all over the place and I really want to love this series more.
Yeha glory of the loser has very very good art, it would indeed be a nice reboot for wing if it becomes an anime. I like the settings and those new Gundam addons, and of course tallgeese f becoming wing zero, was interesting. It does try to bridge the gap. I guess the only way to explain endless waltz was to abandon the okawara Gundams unless they decide to make an endless waltz okawara version which would be wild…maybe they should do a Katoki TV version, kind of like what they did with proto-zero. I like Gundam wing in general, both TV and EW for different reasons. Frozen tear drop I really like the mecha designs they’ve release so far, the characters are also interesting but the story I remember thinking wasn’t very strong and might need some revision. Nothing can’t be fixed with some good story.
@@KAIJUCORP Have you read Battlefield of the Pacifists? Vulkanus was a Self Mining Mobile Doll factory with around 400+ Updated Virgos and the ability to build more Mobile Dolls so they sent it to the Sun... Along with the Gundams. There was a trend in the 90' OVA that the character or MS design are redesigned to look different from the TV versions, but they are exactly the same. I watched a few of OVA that have this scenario. The Endless Waltz OVA design was so great, that we got Gundam Wing Glory of the Losers reboot, incorporating the Katoki version designs explaining why we got this MS in the movie.
The design change is basically a retcon. You can see the changed design in the scenes that take place before the show. So in the movie's timeline, they always looked like that.
Yes. After watching this video, i can confirm for myself that Wufei is indeed an eternal asshole. Only good thing he did was hand Heero the Wing Zero Buster Rifle in the final ep of the anime. That's it and that's all it
He comes off as less of an asshole if you read the stories set between the end of the series and Endless Waltz. The main thing is that while peace did come, the reason why an army got built up so quickly is that the ESUN fucked over most of the soldiers and families of soldiers who fought in the wars during the series. Think something like how badly the Vietnam Vets were treated, except that the government was even more of a dick about it and went about cutting the basic benefits and such that they were entitled to... It's made even worse with the situation of how they reference the G-Unit/Last Outpost stuff, essentially stealing and destroying a lot of their stuff there leading to other issues which then spill over in Frozen Teardrop along with much of the same. As a side note, we never actually find out which side Trowa would have been on, the entire reason why he gets attacked there is more due to No Name having stolen the name (and Gundam) of Dekim Barton's son...and Trowa was there because one of his friends from his time in the circus had been conscripted and died because of things there.
well....his backstory showed he lost his childhood friend and gf/wife before the series began and she was fighting in the gundam so thats why he calls it nataku cuz that was his name for her. and he also is kinda loopy thinking her spirit is literally inside his gundam after her death. its why hes kinda butthead to women not because he flat out hates them but due to trauma that because his gf died in battle he feel girls dont belong there. as for everything else. id say he has "i wanna go back" like alot of veterans get where they just cant acclimate to civilian life amymore and want to be in war all the time cuz it "made sense". not only that wufei did defeat treize but for some reason he felt his victory wasnt good enough. who knows maybe it was because of his gundam and not his victory since all the wing gundams computers have a very stripped down OS based on the ZERO system but each OS is specialized to the gundams main functions but also implys they have a sense of possible simple sentience like how sandrock opened its cockpit to let quatre escape before it blew up.
DUDE lmao! I grew up on the wing series so it’s a grail of sorts. That being said my lord you had me cracking up. That’s truly the nutshell. Love the delivery. 😂 ✌️
They choose to send the Gundams to the sun for self-destruct is actually a smart move, why? In case you forgot, when Wing Gundam self-destructed, the enemy was able to rebuild it by reverse engineering it.
I thought about that when I was making the video but If you check again, Wing Zero didn’t really sustain much damage from the entry. Both nataku and wing zero were already planning to enter the atmosphere. Nataku had equipped a parachute backpack before the fight, and wing zero was planning on entering earth in the first place since he was heading for Brussels.
Reverse/rubberband plot armor, Gundanium is strong as the story demands to, but by default in TV it whitstands and ungodly amount of damage: Dober warheads, beam gun rounds, beam saber blows, atmospheric re-entry, high velocity fall impact, remote explosives, enormous water pressure at seabed, not even self-detonation blows the entire suit completely. Beam cannons effectiveness is somewhat iffy. An example is Deathscythe "destruction" (because they took the remains to be reconstructed) with a Taurus' cannon, another is when the Vayeate receives a sustained twin buster rifle shot and blows the left side of the suit, but, the Mercurius also tanked another W. Zero's sustained shot without his energy shield which sinked the suit into the colony hull and even then the damaged Vayeate took the bullet for Heero just in the back reactor making it go critical. Another gem is Wing getting its waist blown by the libra cannon. Wing Zero's rifle is practically indestructible, it has been taken out of it's hands by sabers, beam shots and whips and is as good as new. Later in the series Epyon's arm gets clean cut by Heero and finally Wing Zero's armor on its iconic last shooting starts to peel off in the re-entry which is baffling because of the aforementioned. So, that was my little summary of gundanium strengths and weaknesses
