Somewhere I’ve been meaning to visit for years! I remember getting taken on a school trip in the 90’s to Snibston discovery park sadly also gone now. (Thankfully the headgear still stands)
The horse gin was from the Industrial Museum at Wollaton park in Nottingham I believe the transport company just cut it in half to remove it!!
Peaky blinders was filmed here too btw!
We had 2 Foster, Yeats and Thom winding engines here at Askern colliery.
the gates from boston colliery are at astley on the end of the platform for the train
