Welcome to this cute little vlog from a day with my friend Gary! We explore some of our favourite quaint towns, the best spot for fish & chips, and a filming location for an iconic Disney film! It's wonderful exploring what's already on your doorstep, and this is a nice summery vlog to refer to if you're visiting the Jurassic Coast! Enjoy and thanks for watching! Brogan & Gary xx
Love this vlog! My dad lives in Swanage so this was like a little bit of loveliness for me to watch and feel close to him (I live in the midlands) Dorset is just the most beautiful place 🥰
Swanage is my absloulty favorite place to go i have been going for over 20 years (i am currently 29) drive four hourse to come here so most of my life x this is my favorite place to go especially carnival week. always feels like home as have many memories here.
Hi Brogan. I told you a couple of months ago that we were going to Rockley Park...we have just returned! Went to Poole, Sandbanks, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Milton Abbas, Corfe Castle and Swanage!!! Oh and of course my partner wanted to go to the B&M store!!! Lol. She wanted to move to Milton Abbas. It's so quaint there. I don't know if you went into the post office but we did and the postmistress, who is an elderly lady, told us she has lived there her whole life! She also said that in the distant past the street used to be close to the Manor but the Lord at the the time didn't like it in such close proximity so he had it all destroyed and then reconstructed in it's current location! Incredible! Anyway, thanks again for your vlogs and advice on where to visit. But after doing all that in 4 days I'm back home for a rest now. Take care x
Brogan, I'm from Australia & I love your videos. These lovely places you go really touch my heart. You've got such a soothing voice as well. Your channel is under-rated as it's so wholesome and lovely. Bless you in Jesus Name.
As someone who lives in NYC I absolutely adore when you explore these towns around you! They’re beautiful and charming. Wish I could visit them all! Please do part 2 and 3and 4 etc!!
absolutely do a part 2! Love Gary and you together, just hanging with a friend! Gary has a very relaxing way about him but I bet you two get into some laughing fits together! thanks for sharing xoxox
Great vlog I also live in Bournemouth and feel very lucky to do so. Loved all the places you visited especially Swanage, always have fish and chips from that chippy and sometimes doughnuts from the kiosk opposite 😂. Enjoyed Gary reminiscing about Leeson House I have great memories of that place. Looking forward to a 2nd vlog.
I used to go to Dorset every year for 4 weeks in the summer holidays, this was SO nostalgic for me. I spent so much time in these places. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you for showing us around dorset brogan, and Gary is a delight , I used to spend most of my childhood holidays in and around the west country and now looking to retire in dorset and watching your vlogs have definitely made our mind up now thank you xxx
I’m from Bath so I have been to Dorset a lot and Swanage beach was a place I used to go loads as a kid, so nice you’re showing it. I haven’t been to Corfe castle before so I shall have to check it out.
All my kids went to Leeson House. I never realised Bedknobs and broomsticks was filmed in Corfe, which is bad as my relative is in the film! Thanks for reminding me how beautiful where we live is. I'm so rubbish at getting out of Bmth and appreciating the rest of Dorset, though just did my annual trip to Camp Bestival and have Romeo and Juliet on Brownsea Island this week 🙂
She’s a sweetheart- I know sometimes you watch people online and you often wonder are they really that nice?! Brogan is a true friend and what you see online is how she is ❤
Loved this! It's so true that you just don't realise what's on your doorstep. Until I had my twin girls and started looking for places to take them I didn't know about a lot of the things I've found and now I love where I live! Those blondies looked amazing. I'm salivating 😂 Looking forward to part 2; more of Gary please. He's a natural x
Part 2 please, I loved this! I'm also a sucker for a candle shop. I love on the North East Coast and it is so easy to forget to utilise whats on the doorstep sometimes x
Lovely to see you two on a jolly. I used to cover the while of Dorset for Bournemouth Primary Care Trust, so it was lovely to see 3 places I've worked lol. Looks like you had a lovely day. X
Love this. We visited Dorset in 2021. We visited corfe castle they do allow dogs. Also visited durdle door and lulworth cove. Stayed at parkdean near Poole. Really want to visit Weymouth as we didn’t have time x
Ahh Swanage, reminds me of our yearly family trip when I was a child. Curiosity is one of THE best shops there for trinkets you never knew you needed! Loved the video, might just have inspired me to plan a trip to Corfe! 😍 Part 2 yes please!
I love this. My grandfather is buried at Lychett, we day visit from Cornwall once a year. I would love to come on holiday for longer. Looks so picturesque.
Hey Brogan 🤗 100% for a part 2 for sure - love Gary, he seems lovely ☺️ I wish I lived nearer to such beautiful locations - just for the break of city life, to get some fresh air and see the wonderful sights. Great vlog as always 🩷 xxx
One of my favorite memories is from the first trip my mom and I took to England - we spent the day in Dorset, went to Lulworth Cove first and then Corfe Castle. So pretty! 😍
Hi. This is the first time I've watched one of your videos! I really enjoyed it, mainly because I grew up in swanage! I moved away 22 years ago! I very been back since, but not for a few years! Was nice to go back through your video. I must get back there one day, so many fond memories! Will definitely watch some more of your videos . 😊😊
I love Dorset. When we visited we got the steam train to Swanage and stopped at Corfe Castle to mooch around the village. The miniature village cafe sells the best ice cream and coffee! Corfe does get really busy in peak summer season. The castle is worth a visit too and the NT offer different activities for children. When we visited they had archery on for the children and summer outdoor games! Lovely vlog and lovely Dorset ❤
I love all your video those shops were lovely I am on a family holiday at the moment it is in your home time been spending a lot of the time on the lovely beach thank you for sharing x
OMG you came to my town, I work in Corfe Castle school and live just up the hill in Worth. I can’t believe you came to Swanage. Milton Abbas also looks so so lovely, never been there. You forget how lovely it is where you live till you see it from the outside. Part 2 would be fab! Xx
really love this vlog, my grandparents live in verwood and i explored a lot of these places as a child, so this was so wholesome and nostalgic for me! thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane!!! 🥺 will have to revisit some of these places this summer! one place i absolutely LOVE is burley (technically hampshire i guess?) - the ice cream place is the best 🤩
Some years ago now, my daughter and I walked from Wareham station to Corfe Castle. We walked all along that main Rd and stopped at the Halfway Inn pub because the heavens opened, and there was a terrible thunderstorm. I'm glad we made it to the pub in time as I don't like storms. We made it eventually. We thought Wareham was lovely, nice shops a bit different than your standard shopping centre. Swanage used to be my other halfs haunt when he was young. He used to meet up with other bikers. Poole Harbours nice, great fish and chips and Christchurch Quay nice as well. You're right about where you live. You don't have to travel too far to be somewhere nice. It's more or less the some for us based in Southampton. Like to see more x
My goodness, how many times can the UK steal my heart. That first village is straight out of a fairy tale. Just delightful. Thanks so much Brogan, and Gary! YES a Part 2 would be awesome!
About to watch but thought I would recommend Ranmoor Estate (Blandford Forum) as a gorgeous place to stay which is dog friendly - for a future doggy break 🥰🥰 we have stayed there a few times and the self contained pods and cottages (all with hot tubs) are fantastic xxxxxxx
Today at my church we are singing Christmas carols as it’s the 5th Sunday of the month and one of the bible study groups have taken over and wanted to sing Christmas carols as we only sing them once a year x so I’m wearing Christmas jumper, Christmas headband and earrings x
Wow what a throwback for me, my gran lived in Harman’s Cross when I was a little girl & we would compete to see who saw Corfe castle first on the drive there. Swanage is such a special seaside town, I wonder if the shop Curiosity still exists, I spent all my pocket money there!
What a lovely day!!! 😍😍😍 Thank you so much for taking us along to see it all!!! Hello to Gary!!! A part two would be fab!!! 👍👍👍 Continued love and health from across the pond!!! 💜💜💜
I went to Leeson House about 35 years ago for a geography field trip. Completely forgot about it until Gary mentioned it. Stunning part of the UK and I feel very fortunate to live nearby
I loved your video of Dorset with Gary. I lived Dartmouth, Devon which I loved, but now, I want to visit your neck-of-the-woods. Thank for being such a great travel guide, Brogan.
Ive been involved in guiding over 30 years - not sure if you knew the connection with brownies island- In the early years of the 20th century, Robert Baden-Powell, a famous army general, developed a scheme for training boys. He tried out his ideas at a camp on Brownsea Island, Dorset, in 1907 and the following year published them in a book, Scouting for Boys. The book was an instant success; boys throughout the country enthusiastically took up 'scouting' and the Boy Scout Movement was formed. Emma x
