R Willy is an absolute unit the kid never stops progressing. He hasn't been riding BMX all that long and he's probably one of if not the best freestyle riders on 🌎.
Ryan Williams has more worlds firsts than any other; so much so, that I challenge any rider to overcome this accomplishment. R-Willy is the Nitro, in BMX! I watched a lot of his scotter vids early on and was like, wtf did this kid just do!???😲😳 When he began riding bmx, I knew he was going to be something very special. 👍Travis helped him a great deal. I am sooo tired of judges awarding spins to win. “A triple is so incredibly hard” …..half the field proceeds to throw triple backflips. Is the trick hard? Absolutely. I bet less than 1% of the population could do it. Is it as visually stunning as some of the others or as technically difficult? No.
It's no surprise rwilly is on top of the game. And I expect we will see more crossover bmx from scooter guys. The tricks he does are heavily based on the bikes momentum instead of the body. Just like the top tricks in scooter riding. He just figured out how to do the same thing with a heavier ride. A true case of a rider using physics to pull off knarly runs....furthermore....why did his first trick get such a low score? Is it because they didn't even know what it was?????
I'm an American and with very few exceptions always root for Americans to win any competition but R. Williams is one of those exceptions. There's not much he isn't willing to try to give a great show.

An 8.53 for a backflip quad tailwhip is way too low of a score. Especially for how clean he landed. A bike flip is easier than that trick, people do bike flips over a spine now. And a bike flip scores higher...? Doesn't make sense
