How many times does the train stops? I am asking because so that Penny can go to the bathroom. Looks like the staff is real friendly helpful. Enjoy the ride back

Thank you, it didn’t come out how I planned but I’m glad you got something out of it. If you do take the trip, you will thoroughly enjoy it.

This was so fun. I love that you use the term carriage; I've always liked that better than car, as in x number of cars in a train. I've taken train trips, the longest one only being about five hours. Love the sound of the train chugging along. Maybe it's an older way of travel, but I hope trains never go out of business. In some ways, I find it less stressful than flying.
    Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I don't think trains will go out of fassion, they're still very popular and I know some of these trains, such as the Indian Pacific are offten booked out months before the travel date. Yes, I don't like the term "cars" either, they're not cars lol

The recent trip I did with friends was great although found it hard to sleep with the noisy carriage connections and the rattling cabin doors. The food was fantastic and the staff were amazing. My thoughts are the cabins needs updating and refurbishing. Everyone had a fab time however very disappointed to find the IP does not leave Sydney Central station, you check in your bags and are then ferried to Lithgow via Blue Mountains. We were sent an SMS on the day. No toilets on the buses which was very difficult for my friend who is going through chemo and needs facilities on hand. We arrived at Lithgow and had to sit on the bus and wait for the bags to arrive by truck and the train to arrive. What should have been a 1.25pm departure from Sydney turned into a 6.00pm departure from Lithgow. When asked we were told it was a one off, this is not the case as the following week in Sydney the IP followed the same routine. Obviously putting more carriages on than can be accommodated at Sydney central. Their webpage states departure from Sydney Central and I feel this is deceiving the potential customer who might think twice.

Hi Valerie, thank you for the comment. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the food and the staff were very good on your recent trip. I'm sorry to hear about your confusion and distress on embarking the Indian Pacific. Hopefully they will have things organised for future trips. I know that some trips have been interupted because of scheduling and fitting in such a long train in Sydney. I'm sure that Journey Beyond will be working on fixing the problem with the relevant authority. As for the cabbins, I believe they have been updated recently but unfortunately they can't do much about the ratteling sounds.
