I feel bad for young teens nowadays, they definitely missed out growing up in the golden age of pop music. It just isn’t the same anymore. Modern pop is more focused on aesthetic whereas 2008-2013 pop was all about being fun, having energy, and being infectiously catchy. Always had crazy music videos as well with massive productions on them. There are a few modern pop girls trying to keep that same energy but I’m afraid music changes with time. Now I slowly understand why my parents would always say “this music just isn’t for me, I miss the old music” when I would listen to songs like this on MTV or in the car.

I feel bad for young teens nowadays, they definitely missed out growing up in the golden age of pop music. It just isn’t the same anymore. Modern pop is more focused on aesthetic whereas 2008-2013 pop was all about being fun, having energy, and being infectiously catchy. Always had crazy music videos as well with massive productions on them. There are a few modern pop girls trying to keep that same energy but I’m afraid music changes with time. Now I slowly understand why my parents would always say “this music just isn’t for me, I miss the old music” when I would listen to songs like this on MTV or in the car.
