Wow.. I have alot to learn. The different versions already confuse me as to why it's done shorter and that is actually more polite, also confusing to see I think Hiragana at the top? I am barely learning Hiragana and Katakana. My son is trying to teach me since he is more experienced. I know more of sound when I been learning Japanese but definitely haven't started learning the writing at all yet 😖. Thank you so much for this video! Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships.
If yuko sensei has a school near my town here in nagano I would transfer school so fast. Most of the japanese teachers don't speak english which I find harder to understand sometimes. I learn so much from these videos and self studying, kinda sad wasting a lot of my parents money just for me to learn japanese very slow..
I was watching this with my brother and he said "so I could say '犬の食べ物は少ししか食べません。' and that would mean that my dog doesn't often eat his dog food... right?" XD i had to explain that he just said that he himself eats a little bit of dog food. and i was concerned when he said our dog only eats a little but i realised he meant that he is very picky.

It's actually not いますか → It's いいますか (to say). So, in the phrase you are asking "what do you say?" instead of "what is it?" Just the way of phrasing the question is different and you are basically asking for the same information. You can use either one that you feel more comfortable.

おねがいします is an independent phrase meaning "I beg you/I request you/I ask of you." ください is a verb meaning "Give me." When you combine ください with another verb as in [Verb (in TE Form)] ください, you are asking the person to give you the action, meaning "Please do (the action)" in English translation. ゆこ先生、Quick question... What is the right way to use or say what, why, where or when in a japanese sentence? Because I often see translation missing what or why or where when asking for a place, object, or person... It really confuses me 😞
It all depends on how you use those question words in the sentence. For instance, is the question asking "is it?" as in "where is it?" or does it have a verb as in "Where do you...? Where did you...?" Then, you need to choose a correct particle according to the verb in the question. I explain how to use "where" as an example in this lesson.
