Drying the toilet brush makes me laugh. I barely get done cleaning a bathroom before someone is trying to come in and use it.. lol. And we have multiple bathrooms. Large family probs 😂
Woah!!! This dusting step was a revelation. This was always my most hated part; pushing around piles of wet dust and lint. 🤮 Thank you!!! I'll be subscribing. ❤
You have definitely taught me more than my own mother on how to clean stuff. Being in a new house is tough, and cleaning is probably up there with some of the hardest stuff to do. Thank you for all of your videos, they have really helped me out a TON.
I really appreciate you sharing that dusting before wiping the surfaces is better! Personally I seriously never have thought about that before especially for the bathroom. I’ll definitely need to do this now! Thank you!
I love the idea of putting the brush like that to dry!! I have had this Pineapple brush holder for 20 years (I buy new brushes) because it has a hanging bit to dry out the brush and the little catch cup just lifts out to wash/dry it after! But I hadn't been able to find anything like it since...😅
I told my husband that when men stand up to pee, urine splashes on the floor sinking into the grout which will start to smell. Then you have to replace the grout. HE SITS NOW! ☺️
As a former custodian, cleaning puddles of urine off the floor always made me wonder why men dont just sit to pee.. this is refreshing to see others think its a good idea too..
Please remember that to disinfect properly you need to let the product sit on surfaces for 5 to 10 mins depending on the disinfectant, before wiping it or rinsing it off❤
These videos have been so helpful. I recently moved into a new apartment and, despite the office saying they cleaning each apartment when old tenets move out, they really don't do a thorough job. Followed along of your videos and REALLY got the place clean and have been following ever since.
So don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying your spring cleaning videos, they are actually pretty motivating... But how you gonna go to the trouble of taking the seat completely off to clean it but still not lift off the tank lid to wipe that area off? At my house (granted I've got too many pets and 2 kids, so this is probably not a big deal to many others) there'd be a ring of dirt and pet hair just under the lip of the cover of I forgot that step 😅
It’s disrespectful toward the matriarch of the family to have a daily chore such as thoroughly cleaning the toilet top to bottom- inside and out, and the floor. We shower every day too, and it can be exhausting to the wife to have so much to do in one day if one is conscious of time. The family should care much more, if they haven’t already realized the actual work load day to day.
For a family with boys, only use that duster on the top of the tank lid (if you don't have a young boy potty training), and never ever in the back part of the toilet seat. There's no time to let the toilet brush sit to dry like that for households with 1 bathroom. So I make sure to spray the brush and leave a puddle of bleach spray in the brush cup to disinfect any possible germs.
I looked at your channel and found the spring cleaning challenge and as I was watching day 1 to day 10 and this was probably posted just now so that's funny 👍
Completely agree w/‘dry’ clean, before ‘wet’ clean everything. Could I be the only one who wears ‘cleaning clothes?’ consider wearing something that doesn’t have ties, like on the hoodie, or deep folds of fabric like the sleeves. It would be a shame to pick up the germs from that toilet seat and spread them all over…. just one person’s $0.02.
This sounds stupid I know but I’m asking anyway. Do you throw away the dusting cloth after you use it on the toilet? Do you use the same cloth on more than one toilet when you’re cleaning your toilets?
@@panhavoteychea8872 you don't want acrylics on your carpet either, for future reference. It drives into a plastic substance and generally won't come out. I'm a professional artist. Charcoal should come out of most things pretty easily. Are you sure it was charcoal? What have you tried so far?

Decide what you're willing to tolerate and what you're not, and put your foot down.

Struggling in a rental with the inside lip of the toilet bowel if people have recs! Super hard water and it wasn’t maintained prior to moving in 🤢 Just a non stop battle to keep it clean.
Could be hard water buildup. I have well water with sulfer and iron. I clean my toilet tank too. Turn off the water, flush to drain. I use the same cleaner that I use for the bowl and a bottle brush. Just keep in mind that this can deteriorate the mechanisms inside of the tank over time. Then use toilet bowl cleaner on the rim of the bowl, let it sit to work (10-15 minutes) and clean as usual. It might have to be done more than once. I've even resorted to using old electric toothbrushes to get in the hard to reach areas. I've had a plumber tell me that I had the cleanest toilet they'd ever seen. If the tank is dirty, the bowl get dirty quicker, especially with hard water it seems.
I live in a town with the hardest water I've ever seen. Long stories, hope they help: #1 I finally found a thing that helped with mine ... a commercial grade acidic bowl cleaner at home Depot. (Can't remember the name .. you can comment to ask me if interested. I'm away from home at the moment.) Then I followed up with a pumice stone. Be cautious about over-use of either, like acid left on too long, or scrub too hard with the stone ... They can etch the porcelain surface, and then the rough surface will forever adhere to grime and calcium more easily and be even harder to clean. (Been there done that. 😂) In fact, this might be the problem for you, that someone accidentally etched it before you got there. #2 Consistency is key ... a friend of mine subscribed to this idea: to keep the toilet brush holder with a couple inches of cleaner in the bottom, So the brush is ready to go at all times. Then you just give it a swish and rinse/flush daily. ... I haven't tried this yet, as it seemed like an old lady thing to do. But I'm ten years older since she told me and now it seems like a better idea 😂😂😂
I like to use either a gallon Milk container with a handle, or a Gallon Bleach container with a handle. Put cleaner in it, swish toilet wand a little bit, pour in the toilet and rinse- the inside can be wiped by throwing in a paper towel or two… and the clean toilet brush to use to swipe it around if it’s undesirable to use the hand to retrieve the paper towels. The initial cutting of the container is inches below the cap- opposite the handle, and take it down about five inches to the desired cut that would allow the toilet brush to set inside and make a shape of an Arched Window. Easy to keep clean, and pick up.
What do you think of a steam cleaner for around and, outside of toilet ,pumice for hard water stains , and, the Clorox disposable brush thingy that I have? I think I need to add that ncide or whatever it's called- stuff 😂 Then my toilet kit will be complete ✅
