Carpenter here; you built it light weight, won’t scratch the painted aluminum coil, and with material I had laying around.

Very simple. I can adapt this to double over the edges of sheet metal and get a professional look. Later: I made a 1200mm bender according to this design in about one hour including getting the tools and timber all in one place. I used much lighter timber and a piece of aluminium profile to get a good straight edge. I only want to bend thin galvanized sheet so it doesn't need to be very strong.

Great ingenuity. A similar design could use flat metal allowing it to bend thicker material.
