Hi there, wonderful tutorial as always and a fantastic idea for upgrade, I have literally just created a number of mock-ups using a different company but I can now do it on my favourite platform! 🎉 The only problem I have right now is that it does not show up in my Canva account under the tools I have three tabs one named Discover apps, one named brand kit and the other named content planner there is nothing else. This feature is still missing from the new Smartmockups experience unfortunately. If you want to change the color of the object, you’ll have to use the Smartmockups website. The good news is that Canva told us they would be working on this feature. So let’s hope they release it soon
Great tutorial. I use mock ups for digital listings and was super excited to get more options. All was great until I tried to save the mock up... photo went grey and saved a transparent rectangle... so yes great news but would be even better if it worked ;)
Thank you for this video. I do have a question on how to change the object color; say change a t-shirt to black. I knew how to do it before this update but for the life of me I cannot find out how to to it now. "Adjust Image" is the only place button I have -- clearly I am missing something. We have the ability to change product colors, correct? T-shirts, mugs, etc...?

This is a very good tutorial. I'm new to all this and it's informative. I'm only running into the problem of using the created mockup with a custom size new Canva project. It doesn't transfer over.
This is an animation that we added in Premiere Pro when editing the video. You could try searching for a similar animation in Canva but it’s probable it would have a green BG.

Another thing that I would like to know is how you do the green transitions with triangles that you have in your videos since I have seen other videos of you and Diana explaining the transitions but I would like to know how to do these new ones for my videos and presentations. I used one of the mockups and loved it! When I tried to use the same one again, it wouldn’t let me. Is that what Canva means by one time use licence? Can you clarify if that means we can only use the mock-up once even as a Pro user?

@@TeamRonDi Thanks for your quick response! I messaged Canva with the link you provided and they responded right away. Apparently we can use the same mockup more than once and I just needed to clear my browser's cache and cookies and it worked.

Great video!! I do not have the Smartmock up under my Tool section on the home page, I have to go under Apps and find it that way. It is also not giving me the options for the 8,000 different mockups. I am also a Pro user.. Please help!! Thanks!
One thing I don't like about Smartmockups is that all the tshirts are white and you can't change the color. I want to create tshirt mockups but it's useless if everything is white. I think there are way better mockup generators out there or am i missing something?
Hey Thomas, no, you aren't missing anything. This is a known issue that we've pointed out several times to Canva. They promised they would be working on adding a feature to let us change the color of the objects in the near future. Let's hope this comes soon 🤞

Okay, my question isn't on point re Smartmockups but I can't find your video re latest on Canva's photo editor. Here's my question: I have public domain images from the Library of Congress that are teensy thumbnails and I want to upload them, and then boost them in size / quality to use in Canva for printed things (like covers for my planner, etc.). How can I increase the ppi (or really dpi, right, since this is a printed product?) within Canva? In other words, does Canva allow for alteration of image resolution within its photo editor?

I was excited about this until I tried it and found that I can't change the size of or reposition the design on the shirt (or a mug). It is so big that only part of it shows. Will the ability to adjust the image (the way you did on the pillow) be part of what we get when the new feature rolls out to us as the way it is now it is pretty useless for anything but an all over pattern.... Thanks.

Thx for the tutorial. When i select an image (any image) I see it on the right side of the mockup designer, but not on the mockup itself. I clic on adjust image, fiddle with it, but when I hit save mockup the window on the left hand side stays white. Nothing is there at all. Any idea please?

They are updating the photo editing features at the moment and that includes a revamp of the Mockup App. You can still access Smartmockups via the Canva Hompage > Apps > Smartmockups, in the meantime.
Is there any way to change the colour of the t-shirt mockups? They all seem to be white and no other colour. Or I cant' find any. I am a pro user and have been looking for a black t-shirt mockup. But as I cant' see anything but white I'm wondering if there is a way to change to t-shirt's colour?
Hi Colin, I haven't found a way to change the color of the Object in this latest update of Smartmockups, BUT, you can definitely do it from within the Editor using the Smartmockups extension like I show in this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/qml5JUg2a6Y/w-d-xo.html

I used to do my photo search on Canva home page instead of on the editing page because I could see the search results on full screen instead of tiny pics on the left side menu in the editing page. But now, I no longer see "photo search" tab when I am on canva home page. Is that really gone from the home page, or is it just hidden somewhere? I did send my question to canva, of course, I got an auto reply right away saying someone would get back to me soon, and that was about 2 month ago...

I'm guessing that since I don't see Smartmockups located where you showed under the Tools section, that it hasn't rolled out to everyone yet.

Not directly from Canva, but it can be done via the Smartmockups website.

One thing I don't like about Smartmockups is that all the tshirts are white and you can't change the color. I want to create tshirt mockups but it's useless if everything is white. I think there are way better mockup generators out there or am i missing something?

no, you aren't missing anything. This is a known issue that we've pointed out several times to Canva.
They promised they would be working on adding a feature to let us change the color of the objects in the near future.
Let's hope this comes soon 🤞

Wonderful video, thank you! I can't seem to get the Smartmockups app in the side menu on my homepage of Canva. I have a Pro account. Any suggestions? Without having it there I unfortunately do not know how to access the Smartmockups gallery page showing all of the mockups available. Any help much appreciated :)

Okay, my question isn't on point re Smartmockups but I can't find your video re latest on Canva's photo editor. Here's my question: I have public domain images from the Library of Congress that are teensy thumbnails and I want to upload them, and then boost them in size / quality to use in Canva for printed things (like covers for my planner, etc.). How can I increase the ppi (or really dpi, right, since this is a printed product?) within Canva? In other words, does Canva allow for alteration of image resolution within its photo editor?

It was not possible so far ... but I know Canva is working on a new version of their Mockup app, let's hope this comes with it 🤞
I was excited about this until I tried it and found that I can't change the size of or reposition the design on the shirt (or a mug). It is so big that only part of it shows. Will the ability to adjust the image (the way you did on the pillow) be part of what we get when the new feature rolls out to us as the way it is now it is pretty useless for anything but an all over pattern.... Thanks.
Yes the new version of Smartmockups will give you the ability to resize your image and adjust it within your mock-up 👍

When i select an image (any image) I see it on the right side of the mockup designer, but not on the mockup itself. I clic on adjust image, fiddle with it, but when I hit save mockup the window on the left hand side stays white. Nothing is there at all.
Any idea please?

Canva is still rolling out this new feature to all users so if you don’t see it yet, be patient. It shouldn’t be too long now.
Why can't I use the mockups with the canva app?
They are updating the photo editing features at the moment and that includes a revamp of the Mockup App. You can still access Smartmockups via the Canva Hompage > Apps > Smartmockups, in the meantime.
There's no update for the Dutch version😥

I haven't found a way to change the color of the Object in this latest update of Smartmockups, BUT, you can definitely do it from within the Editor using the Smartmockups extension like I show in this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/qml5JUg2a6Y/w-d-xo.html

I used to do my photo search on Canva home page instead of on the editing page because I could see the search results on full screen instead of tiny pics on the left side menu in the editing page. But now, I no longer see "photo search" tab when I am on canva home page. Is that really gone from the home page, or is it just hidden somewhere? I did send my question to canva, of course, I got an auto reply right away saying someone would get back to me soon, and that was about 2 month ago...
