  • Comparison tool review of the DeWalt 15 gauge finish nailer model DCN650B and the DeWalt 18 gauge brad nailer model DCN680B. These are the two nailer sizes I use to trim houses inside and out and I've shot thousands of nails through these particular nailers. So let's dive in and check 'em out!

    That was pretty wild that it fired that 15g nail on accident without the tip pressed.

    Thanks for the review. I too have the same Milwaukee nailers as you. They perform admirably tbh. My only concern is to the longevity of each unit; been seeing some problems with the nitrogen tanks running dry and having to bring the unit in for servicing. Wish Milwaukee would’ve added an outboard air valve for us in order to top up the tank if/when needed - Metabo, Rigid and Ryobi do with their framing nailers. Guess you got the best of both worlds if you got both nailers!

      I have seen a guy somewhere on youtube crack open his Milwaukee FUEL framing nailer and refill it with regular air. I guess it's not as good as nitro in certain weather but...

    the inline magazine, sharpener and that 16 inch oc spacer are things I never really noticed with the dewalt. thanks for the review

    I run a Paslode XP framing nailer so the noise isn’t an issue for me. I like it

    My 2nd fix dewalt is misfiring blocking regular and struggles with 50mm pins the mechanism is starting to falter aswell doesn't always engage the trigger. Only 3 years old minimal use really not been used all day everyday

    I'm not a tradesman but don't we want to fire the nails at slightly different angles each time? That seems like a physics question of holding better

    Morning Alex, I always look forward to your honest unbiased reviews. What’s with that Dewalt firing a nail inadvertently??? That was disturbing !! That alone might lean me towards the Milwaukee, not a problem because I’m in both battery platforms, looking forward to your next video, thanks.

      Thanks Joey, yeah that's pretty serious that it fired off a nail in bump mode without being depressed against anything. Really need to treat these like any loaded gun.

    Dewalt is more consistant over time though. Milwaukee gets weaker over time and during cold weather so it needs to be served and refill the gas

    can you adjust the power on this? It's ripping through some vinyl trim and I need to lower the punch- is this possible?

    • @toolrev
      @toolrev  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can adjust the depth.

    Can I use the Dewalt 18 gauge brad nailer for: baseboard, 1/4 round, crown molding, window/door trim?
    Please advise

    5:31 SOLD you can free hand shoot with the gun no safety trigger like on air compressor guns. 🤣

    • @toolrev
      @toolrev  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be clear for those who don’t get your joke these nailers should only fire when the tip is depressed.

    • @mattcraztex9940
      @mattcraztex9940 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toolrev That is correct. Although you do have to be careful with these guns as even the Dewalt (DCN623B - 20V MAX XR, 23 GAUGE PIN NAILER) also has the ability to fire free hand without the tip being depressed.

      some prefer DeWalt guns bc they don't need air or gas refilled to work, only new springs usually, but yeah DeWalt for saws and drills maybe but better options for other stuff imo
