As someone who has carried a Wave for nearly 20 years, I am glad I’ve stuck with it. The versatility of the Wave is just nearly impossible to beat. I did purchase the bit kit, which has come in handy on occasion, but by no means is an essential item. Long live the Wave!

One of the best voices and announcer delivery I have heard on any video. Relaxed with excellent diction. Great review of them, but just had to give props for the voice and audio quality.

I've had my Wave for 15+ years and love it...BUT if the pliers slip under pressure, you can get a nasty pinch between the handles. It took me a couple of blood blisters before I learned to be more careful.

      Yep
The last blood blister just healed on my thumb.
I wish there was a way to change it

Thanks for the vid. Helped me realize I’m sticking with the wave. I would miss the file most, bit holder second.

I like that all the tools are accessible outside on the P4 and one hand function.
The magnet closure is also nice. I like my P4 and the Phillips screw driver on the P4 is also a can opener and very sturdy.
The box opener on the P4 I use daily to open Amazon boxes.

Great video. In regards to both tools they really are not comparable, as they fit different needs and circumstances depending on the job at hand. I have the wave + and want the P4

Every tool on the P4 locks. It’s just an easy release mechanism. Every tool is also retained by the same locking system. Things only move when you want them to 👍

Just got a wave+ to replace a lost bond, which was a replacement for my old wave. It’s honestly way too useful a tool and works for just about everything you wouldn’t already be grabbing tools for. The blade is meh but the pliers and tools have infinite uses.

Good review. I've watched a number of Free P4 and P2 videos and I haven't seen anything that convinces me that the Frees are anywhere as good as the Wave. An extra $0 for an inferior tool? I'll pass.

Clay Hayes used the P4 HARD every day during season 8 of Alone and it held up great. Probably the best, most true field testing a multi-tool has ever had. 70+ days of survival use = definitely NOT a "wannabe" tool. th-cam.com/video/0p62QzrTF0k/w-d-xo.html

As an EDC, I carry the Rebar with the bit adaptor kit on my keys all the time.
For heavy duty work, I use the combination of the Super Tool 300 + bit adaptor + the Crunch + double bit kit, in only two sheaths. This combination can do literally everything.
I also have the Wave Plus, which I was given as a present, but it keeps lying in my drawer all the time - I find no use for it because it's poor in functions, badly designed and simply not good enough.
