Another fantastic video, although very windy and rain storm coming, you made a wise decision to pack you tent and gear. Dave have you thought of becoming a mountain instructor. Regards Philip.
Hey Dave!.............I know we've never met, but you know I've been following your channel for 3 years plus. And..... at last, in May this year I have my first camping trip to the Lakes since 2018 planned. Nothing too ambitious to start with, maybe Pike o' Blisco or Sergeant Man but the knees are sorted and the tent is being tested. Here's to the outdoors, the wind and the rain. Bring it on.
I’ve driven all over uk but the sky above Yorkshire and up north west ways are just something different they seem magical I live in Penzance currently and it’s magical but not like that May I suggest ear plugs ..not sure if I could wear them or if it make any difference just a suggestion
Know what you mean. I’ve struggled with ear plugs previously but have recently found some good ones. Although to be honest I don’t want my senses to be too isolated, just incase something goes wrong. Thanks for watching 👍
@ yeah I would never wear them for uncomfortable reasons it mainly cus I want to be alert I watch going solo channel he doesn’t t have the wind problem so much I’m wondering if it tent brand or maybe make it tighter on guy lines …idk never camped lol but you’ve made me have to
Your video reminds me of my trip to the Cairngorms last December. It was windiest camp I’ve ever had in my life and thank goodness I was in my BL Soulo. My other tents wouldn’t have survived. It’s pretty miserable being in such a windy tent and I only slept for 2 hours. The next night was going to be worse so I slept in a refuge. Thanks for sharing as always.
Yeah know what you mean Ben. I had a rough night in the Cairngorms too but was rewarded by a stunning sunrise. It’s a special place but not for the inexperienced. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. ATB
Little disappointed you never swam over to the Island..for old times' sake Dave. May have been a little chilly possibly😂. Agree with you about the film Evgenia put on her channel..it's a great watch. Still laugh at your makeshift rucksack raft!! Obviously you were too distracted in heading to the 'tuffety titties' to have time for a dip this time😂 Great film mate, glad you found some peace and quiet, wind apart, on a Bank Holiday weekend, takes some doing. Loved the evening colours of the sky and the contrasting moodiness of the clouds over the mountains in the morning. Thanks as always for sharing with us.👍
Super video, Dave, shame about the wind. Those are cracking fells. Last time I was up that way I walked over to Green Crag from there, which again was quiet. I know what you mean about finding peace and solitude in the Lakes even on a holiday weekend. I've often gone to the Northern Fells and that's another good area to avoid folks.
Always enjoy watching your videos Dave. Bank holidays in the lakes are a nightmare alright! You've shown that you can go to the lesser known, less popular areas and still have s great wild camp in lovely surroundings. You were rewarded with a cracking sunset too! 😊
Devoke and up on to White Pike ~ nice. The Lakes has so much to offer anytime of the year, if you know where to go, prep and accept the weather. Where’s the Bounty? Tell me you haven’t given into the ‘Bounty Haters’😂 always look forward to watching your channel. I thought you had a wine decanter pouch? 😂 Has Mary made up any more protective bags ? I wouldn’t worry about the fitness just enjoy what will hopefully be a late breaking spring and fantastic summer. Here’s hoping 🤞 just over 4 weeks and the Lakes will be ‘home’ can’t wait - just a little excited. Amidst all the packing.
Haha. Nice one Colin. Yeah I forgot my Bounty and the 🍷 was a last minute decision 😁🤦🏻♂️. Hope you have a great trip. Glad you enjoyed the video. ATB 👍
Hi Dave, great to meet you if not in the great outdoors but our local petrol station 🤣. At least we were both starting off on an adventure. Thanks for the tips on the route to take, spot on. Your location looked fantastic. Can't wait to show Tracey your red tent. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and share. ATB Cheers Sel
Great video Dave, We were on the Calf in the Howgills Good Friday. 40 mph gusts and hail and rain -4 wind chill from 3pm. Was supposed to stop around 6pm didn’t until 12 am Tent held up well and a good night in all.
Love this one Dave. I can tolerate the rain/snow etc but the wind annoys the hell out of me too when camping. Moderate wind yeah, but gusting like that around 30/40mph, them other tubers can keep it! 😂 Take care & Stay safe mate 👍 Cheers Dave
When your next up in that area try a summit camp on Caw. Its got a perfect flat platform for the tent, protected by the summit rock, with steep drop offs all around, making it a stunning view point. The last time i was up on Caw i could see the mountains of Snowdonia very clear in the distance.
I love it when youre in my backyard, I know every step you took.....okay that came out weird lol But theres some cracking little hills over the western edges, usually quieter too during busy periods.
Bleak, barren, windy and wet: I love it 🎉 and here is one happy man! Talking of Sellafield btw, I'm old enough to remember the Windscale incident (aka accident = nuclear disaster) in 1957.
Very enjoyable video Dave that tent is fantastic, great pitch using rocks. Wow the wind this year had been relentless. Always good to see some new uploads after a windy and very wet bimble.❤
Great work Dave, I’ve passed by that area many times on the way to Wasdale. Not sure if it’s any good for you, but I just picked up a wind proof Buff for running. Really flexible, you can use it under a more breathable beanie ,on its own or under a peak cap. I know the wind gets your ears - snap😔. Great work as always 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
Honestly I knew where you were in literally the 1st seconds of this video. I thought I know where he's at, I just live locally in millom. Good choice pal 👍
Nice one, took a while to spot the place. The winds are beginning to annoy me now - if it isn't blowing a gale it's chucking it down - or both! April camp done then - is that your three years or was that last month? ATB, Roger
So many people scoff at 30mph winds Dave but that is legitimately strong. Plenty enough to damage lesser tents and make for a vile night. Hope your fitness levels creep back up again mate and of course that you're keeping well 🙂 Adge.
Great vlog Dave, just goes to show you don't have to get up on the high summits to be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views. Is the Soulo the red or black label please? Thanks
Great video and pitch as usual mate. Titties everywhere sounds like heaven 😂 is the footpath app any better than the os maps one I can see it's a lot cheaper. Atb mate.

It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October.
