OMG!!! I’m a nearly 40 year old guy that just cried through nearly half of this episode. You two are incredible parents. Caleb is a remarkably grounded, thoughtful, and appreciative young man. Thank you guys. Really. I needed this today.
In a world of "we deserve it" kids, Caleb is such a breath of fresh air. He's so sincerely grateful and kind. We need more "Leach" parents in this world!!
I was tearing up watching Caleb when he realized it's his car. He is such a great kid. So happy for him. I've really enjoyed watching the relationship the three of you share. And Caleb has become such a wonderful part of the channel.
With all of the excitement, Caleb was very poised and respected the moment and situation - immediately thanked the sellers and showed appreciation to them which was awesome - he's such a good guy!
WOW! Watching this episode pulled at the heartstrings. Caleb’s face was priceless and his appreciation and the amount of times he said SERIOUSLY made me smile! You really surprised him! I do believe he is going to work on you to let him take that to school! Thank you both for sharing this remarkable story! Congrats Caleb and we’ll done Mark and Trish! ❤
So awesome! Amazing for Caleb. But I'm betting it was big emotional day for Marc. Bestowing a dream come true on his youngest son and last bird who will fly the nest soon. Big moment, big day, bigger memories. Well done. Well done.
Brought back lots of memories. To this day, one of my favorite days of my whole life was surprising my daughter with her car on a random day when she was 16 years old (in 2004), She just walked out one morning to get in the car for me to take her to school and it was sitting in the driveway. Soooo much fun! I’ll Never forget it. This looked like so much fun for you!
This is really cool and we love that Caleb loves this car. A few years ago, Natalie’s dad (in the Uk) bought an MGB to relive his youth (owned one in his early 20s, now mid 70s). It was the one that got away! Over the years, he restored it to exactly how he remembered his original one. New chassis, repainted, new engine, reupholstered interior, new roof. He barely watches our videos, but we’re pretty sure he’ll watch this 🤣
I started watching this channel when Caleb was just a little boy and now, wow, he got his own convertible. Time flies! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with us!
Fun episode seeing the expression on Caleb’s face when he finally realised he wasn’t being pranked and the car was his. It’s a beautiful MGB. Great episode!
Brought a tear to my eye. Caleb getting his MGB. After watching all these years, Caleb my be our President of the United States of America someday. No kidding.
When my brother was 16, he bought his first car, a 1957 MBA coupe. He restored it (I like to say I helped) and later sold it when he graduated from college. He later restored the car our father bought new, with which we both learned how to drive, a 1957 VW beetle. He now has another 1957 MGA coupe, a 1972 MGB convertible, several old motorcycles, all which he is currently restoring, along with the VW. He has won many awards with his restoration work and he is now 71. The point is, Caleb now joins this British car family of folks whose love for these cars remains lifelong. Loved the video, the joy will stay with him forever!
This memory will stay with him all his life. Congratulations to you all. I think Mom is right about not driving it to college it's having problems and you'll be able to drive it on breaks.
My hubby had an MGB when I met him and it was driven, with constant problems, for years. It will always have problems, lol. And Caleb will learn so much. But def not a daily driver.
A lifetime of childhood Christmases rolled into one magical moment. The look on Caleb’s face when he FINALLY realized that beauty was really all his was absolutely priceless. He’s a great kid - well done!!!
Your parental ruse in unveiling the car to Caleb was awesome! Capturing it on video and sharing it was a very appreciated. I would be happy to nominate you both as candidates for the parental Hall of Fame! Very entertaining! As a car nut since birth, I can appreciate Caleb's excitement and enthusiasm. In no time flat, Caleb will be an expert in troubleshooting his MGB. His first tool should probably be a Multimeter and books on MGB repair. My first car was a problematic beast to say the least, but, the value of education received working through automotive problems in a simple car served me well for years to come. He is going to have a blast and will learn a lot. Thanks for sharing the big day!
We spent 5 years restoring a Jeep YJ with our son from age 15 when we got it for him to now 20 years old. Such a great experience! Y'all have fun and welcome to Florida.
This was so fun to watch! I love the KYD kids and its so wonderful to see Caleb get such a wonderful present. He will never forget that day! Marc and Trish you are the parents everyone wishes they had!!!
Congratulations on the MG. As a guy that has owned British cars for many years, you need to get to know Moss Motors and similar companies. Also, find an experienced British mechanic. Don’t take it to just any roadside mechanic. This car will allow Caleb to develop some troubleshooting/maintenance skills. Owning a British car is like being an RV’er. You need certain skills and get him a toolbox, digital multi-meter, and a solid workshop manual. Also, join a British car club with like minded people. You are entering a new “phase” of your life. All this from someone who has been there and done that.
So happy for Caleb. His face when he finally realized it was his was priceless. Thanks for the view of the two tone green 1974 Frid. My dad had one of those and I used it to pull my two horse trailer. God bless. And Caleb never drive faster than your yard Ian angel can fly!!
This episode is in our top 5 favorite KYD posts. OMG, we love your family and Caleb is a great young man. We've watched KYD for years and his sense of humor is great. You are great parents and what a surprise you pulled off. I'm a 66 year old Grandma. And I cried tears of happiness for Caleb & you Marc & Trish. So, so good. You all will remember this forever....and so will we. Jennifer & Jerry Peoria Az
My 1st car was a 67 Fiat 850 Spyder Sport, got it in 78. It would break down every 150 - 175 miles. In college, I would park it in one specific spot so I could push start it myself for 6 months until I could get the starter fixed. I loved that car. Owned it until 2021. Caleb, enjoy the education of a car you can actually work on and learn all of its peculiar secrets. points burning out, carburetor fowling, electrical problems (catching fire), over heating for no reason and stranding you 100 miles from anywhere, and so forth... Spent every Christmas with my dad, for many years, rebuilding the engine, electrical, clutch until I got my own house then the tradition passed over to my kids. Enjoy it and treasure the memories.
This may be the best video you’ve ever put out! What an awesome surprise for Caleb and you guys pulled it off so smoothly! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Caleb literally speechless before. He’s such a great kid and so deserving and grateful. Most kids his age want new Hondas, or BMW’s etc. The fact he wanted a 50yo MGB just shows he’s an old soul, which we already knew. Congratulations Caleb, this will be the car you look back on with a smile for the rest of your life! Good job parents!
Caleb’s facial expressions are priceless!😂 That was so exciting to watch! I love how happy he is about it! Sitting inside the car while at the gas station! Amazing! It’s a beautiful car!
Parents of the Year! Very happy for Caleb. I had an MG when I was much younger. It was a ton of fun to drive and taught me a lot about how to work on cars.
Can’t. Stop. Smiling!!! Congratulations, Caleb!! Truly so excited for you! And I know that family is so happy to know their Dad’s car will be treasured and cared for as their Dad did for all those years. Such a wonderful coming together of so many kind people!
I wanted to buy an MGB for my first car. My Mother told me they were no good. Test drove a B and a Midget. Both had problems. Later in life I got one. My mechanics skills increased. Was a lot of fun.
Caleb, you have the best parents EVER! Loved this episode. My two brothers and I all had MG's. My oldest brother was transferred to Fort Hood, TX upon his return from Vietnam, and bought a used MG. Ended up with a dead transmission and bought one from a wrecking yard - a year different - and did the replacement work himself. Never figured out where the extra bolt was supposed to go. Returned home upon discharge and dropped the universal joint on the way home, in an obscure town in California. My next-older brother bought a new Midget in college - I think it was a 74. Funny story, my mom worked with him on the purchase, then later that Saturday she went to confession. My brother had done something to torque her off, and she talked with the priest about it. The priest says, "Why don't you do something nice for your son for a penance?" She says, "I just loaned him the down payment for his first car." The priest says, "That's probably enough!" He kept it through college and then sold it and bought a first-generation Toyota Celica. The guy who bought it from him eventually sold it, and then that guy eventually put it in storage. My brother tracked it down and bought it back, has restored it, and it's a garage queen now. I bought my Midget in 79, the last year they were made. Drove it for about 44k miles. The right rear seal never did seal properly, always leaked a bit. Eventually, the electronic ignition started going out intermittently - the car would just die, I'd pull over, give it a minute or so and then start it back up. Eventually it died and I ended up locking up the starter trying to get it going. Had to get the ignition and the starter replaced. Later, one of the gears broke and I had to have the tranny rebuilt. I ended up selling it to a lady who was moving to the east coast (I'm in Oregon) who had retinitis pigmentosa - she was slowly going both blind and deaf, and wanted to have a fun car while she could still drive. Here's a hint: if you get in traffic and it starts to overheat, roll the windows down and put the heat on full blast. I always wanted to get a bumper sticker that would say, "The quality parts falling off this car were made in Great Britain." All the best to you!!!
Back in the late 90s I drove an 1971 MGB for years. Chrome bumpers, three windshield wipers, and spoked wheels. Amazing car. Get used to adjusting those dual SU carburetors under the hood. I found a glass glow plug that allowed me to see the color of the flame in the combustion chamber helped a lot with this process. :) Congrats Caleb! Very fun car!
OMG! That was my DREAM car in the early 80's when in high school. Thanks, you made my CRY! Calebs reaction was PRICELESS! Been watching you for years and he's such a good kid!! Caleb....ENJOY! This 57 year old grandmother will live vicariously through you. You guys are AWESOME parents!!
I was literally brought home from the hospital in a ‘72 MGB and I’ve wanted one since my dad sold it. I’m so happy for Caleb and I wish him nothing but the best of luck with his B.
This brought back so many memories of Michigan. It was 60 years ago this summer US 131 Dragway opened. I was 7 and helped prepare for the opening with my Dad, Frank. In 1974 I owned a Orange '71 MGB (the one with no glovebox) wire wheels (never wish for those again) two 6Volt batteries (impossible to jump) I installed a roll bar (made it much stiffer over potholes) & doors didn't rattle. Recommended! Never had problems finding someone for a push either. And Euchre! Living in Oregon now. Enjoy your MG Caleb and drive safely.
Oh MY! This one made me smile from start to finish! My VERY first car, bought with my own $$$, with my very first teaching job ... was a yellow 1968 MGB! It was my dream car. I loved it like no other. Go get em Caleb! How FUN for you! I've wished many times over in my @#$ years that I had that car again! :)
Caleb, welcome to the club. In the video you were told how easy they are to work on. Every MGB owner will tell you that. Ask them how they know. I’ve had my 80 for 6 years now and just love it! Enjoy the ride.
Congratulations Caleb 🤩 you’ll learn so much having a car like this. We gave our son a VW 1969 bug and he had that engine in and out so many times that he is now a hands on with all his cars. Enjoy the drive 😎 get some sunglasses too 😉
Congratulations Caleb! We are so excited for you! It warmed our hearts to see your mom and Dad reward you for being such a great person with a good heart!
I was raised in the Northeast and had a similar car (Triumph). I drove it all year long, rain, snow, loved it. Unless Caleb decides to leave it at home, when he goes to college he needs to take it. If it’s his car, it should be his choice! Yes, it needs to be taken care of, but there is no reason that can’t be done. Congratulations Caleb, it’s a beautiful car, be careful, take care of it, and have fun.
I had a 1969 MGB. Dad and I rebuilt the car body with the help of a neighbor. I drove that car for over 12 years. We went everywhere together. High School, College, Army Basic Training, Army Flight School and beyond. I wish I still had it. I do have my Dad’s ‘52 MGTD now though. If the car is warm, you don’t really have to be going very fast to push start it. Trust me. 😜 If you’re ever in the Allentown, PA area look me up. I can show you much of what you need to keep her tuned up and running smooth. Stuart
I laughed, I fist pumped, I may have cut some onions, I held my breath, every emotion under the sun in this one. Congrats on the new ride Caleb, those are fun fun little cars
BEST SURPRISE EVER!!! Seriously, really Seriously!! ha I think I watched this video of Caleb reaction about ~ 6 times!! Priceless. This MGB found a great new home to a great young man. I loved his reaction. To the parents, you raised some wonderful kids. This made my day!
Gee Caleb is one lucky fella to have parents that are so loving. I guess the next thing he needs is a do it yourself manuel for all the parts and what they do. Caleb so excited for you. Sending a Big Hug. Thanks and Love y'all
THIS HIT SPECIAL! Two years ago I drove home a new purchased red 1977 Fiat 124 Spider and my two boys were out of their mind. They have access the keys and take "Stella" (she has a name and so should MGB) out for rides weekly. You did great! Now get some antique tags if you haven't already.
I started watching and couldn’t stop grinning the entire video. Such a great surprise for Caleb. One year owning an old car turns you into a Master Mechanic. 😂
Great episode! Having owned an '57 Austin-Healey 100-6 allows me to relate, You'll get it running reliably and it will be so much fun with so many memories. Caleb will be talking about that car forever.
My first car was a British Leyland '74 Triumph Spitfire. First day I got it, it stalled going across 2 lanes of traffic. My Dad had to rewire the whole car. I kept a hammer in it always to tap the starter whenever it decided to act up. You had to lift the shift to move to reverse, until the entire thing pulled out and then you just made sure you could pull forward wherever you parked. God I loved that car! Enjoy Caleb!!!!
Great episode! I just drove from Virginia to Florida over the 4th of July weekend to pick up my wife’s dad’s MG he bought brand new in 1980 so my daughter could use it to drive away in for her wedding. Such fun little cars.
OMG!!! I’m a nearly 40 year old guy that just cried through nearly half of this episode. You two are incredible parents. Caleb is a remarkably grounded, thoughtful, and appreciative young man. Thank you guys. Really. I needed this today.
Yes...it made us choke up. So cool!
I couldn’t have said it better. You hit the mark on everything great about the KYD family. It was such a joy to watch!! Congratulations Caleb!!
I am 61 and I cried! I did not know my parents! I was in foster care!
I got teary eyed too!! Caleb is such a cool kid!
66 and cried! You guys are great!
Now Caleb knows what a vintage car is, not a daily driver. But lots of fun under the hood and behind the wheel. Enjoy Caleb!!
If there was ever a kid that deserves this kind of treat, it's Caleb. He's the best.
So true
In a world of "we deserve it" kids, Caleb is such a breath of fresh air. He's so sincerely grateful and kind. We need more "Leach" parents in this world!!
I was tearing up watching Caleb when he realized it's his car. He is such a great kid. So happy for him. I've really enjoyed watching the relationship the three of you share. And Caleb has become such a wonderful part of the channel.
With all of the excitement, Caleb was very poised and respected the moment and situation - immediately thanked the sellers and showed appreciation to them which was awesome - he's such a good guy!
That was the best reveal I've seen. And his reaction was precious and so full of gratitude. What a good man he is. Great job mom and dad.
Y'all are living my dream...race tracks, super C, convertible....dreamy.
Congratulations Caleb! MG’s are such cool cars 😎.
My condolences to you all for the many hours of work ahead to keep it running. 😉
Giving him the Ford keys was Genius! That sold the whole story. Why would he give him keys?
WELL PLAYED!
Congratulations 👍
Terrific son you raised. His appreciation, kindness, and respectfulness is always present. Thank you for raising such fine contributions to mankind.
My husband looked over and said "why are you crying" and I couldn't explain without tearing up more.
I'm so happy for Caleb💙
Me too! Crying with happiness for Caleb and Trish & Marc. So good 👍
Hope you bought him a nice tool set to go with it. Great car to learn how to self repair.....constantly 🙃
"The parts falling from this car are of the finest British quality" (but I still like them)
😀
I had a TR3, that is where I learned how to fix cars
The car is compact and lightweight,
makes it a whole lot easier on the people doing the *pushing!*
😭Happy tears for Caleb. What a great memory was made that day and what a great kid!!!!
So awesome! Amazing for Caleb. But I'm betting it was big emotional day for Marc. Bestowing a dream come true on his youngest son and last bird who will fly the nest soon. Big moment, big day, bigger memories. Well done. Well done.
Generous sellers, grateful and great kid, amazing parents! Cried when Caleb realized it was his car. Well done mom and dad❤️😄
His reaction when Trish said this isn’t a daily driver was the best.
Congrats, Caleb! Just remember that the MGB gets the best MPG when it’s on the trailer 😄. Be safe and have fun! Epic job keeping that a secret.
Brought back lots of memories. To this day, one of my favorite days of my whole life was surprising my daughter with her car on a random day when she was 16 years old (in 2004), She just walked out one morning to get in the car for me to take her to school and it was sitting in the driveway.
No kidding.
Ok, I'm not gonna lie. 15:06, seeing how much Caleb appreciates what you guys did for him, brought a tear or two to my eyes.

I cried through the first half of this video. Love Caleb. He gives me back my faith in young people. I hope college doesn’t change him too much.❤️

Yeah, he gained more than a car. He gained a hobby.
I raised my three children on MG's. They loved them.

Priceless. From barefooted in Alaska to a MG. He's so grown up. Congrats!

This was so heart-warming! Loved Caleb’s reactions and his whole grateful attitude. You guys have raised outstanding kids! 💕
I am a guy that loves Classic Cars, this by far my most favorite KYD vid!!

love how Bill just strolled along on the side to help with the re-starts lol!
I can remember push starting my brothers MG so many decades ago! That was an awesome surprise!
What a awesome day for Caleb. He will remember every minute of this.
Makes me wanna cry, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Parents of the Year! Very happy for Caleb. I had an MG when I was much younger. It was a ton of fun to drive and taught me a lot about how to work on cars.

That ranks up there as one of the best videos! So happy for Caleb and his reaction was priceless. Excellent job Marc and Trish!!
I'm so happy for that kid! He's been apart of the pleasure of watching your journey.
Love Trish’s nicknames on your iPhone Marc❤️
Seeing you push that MGB brings back so many memories! Gotta love em!
I wanted to buy an MGB for my first car. My Mother told me they were no good. Test drove a B and a Midget. Both had problems. Later in life I got one. My mechanics skills increased. Was a lot of fun.
sooooooo much fuuuuun...all in 1 video...
you guys got me smiling during the whole video.
My cheeks are hurting 😀
Caleb’s car is the only one in the museum that could make it 2 laps. He’s a good sport and very deserving.
Caleb, you have the best parents EVER! Loved this episode.
My two brothers and I all had MG's. My oldest brother was transferred to Fort Hood, TX upon his return from Vietnam, and bought a used MG. He is--definitely--SO BRINGING THIS TO COLLEGE.
Caleb had me in tears with his surprise and joy. That is so cool!
What fun for Caleb!! He has been a great part of the channel for many years!
The paint job on that car is outstanding but I’m still TR - 9 person with wooden dash. This young man deserve this.
No hug for mom and dad? The look of bewilderment was priceless. Congrats Caleb how fun!
Didn’t make the Edit.
What a happy feeling Caleb, i remember my parents gifting my first car, wow, cherish it man.
BEST EPISODE EVER!! I'm 70 and wish you were my Mom & Dad!
So happy for Caleb! He seems like the sweetest kiddo and we have enjoyed watching him grow up. 🥳🥳🖖🖖
OK, this is one of my MOST favorite episodes!!! Next up; Caleb goes to MGB mechanic school...

Recommended! Never had problems finding someone for a push either. And Euchre! Living in Oregon now. Enjoy your MG Caleb and drive safely.
Love Mark’s humble reaction to his son’s excitement a thing only great dads have, wonderful
Caleb's reaction was priceless!!! Well done everyone!! He will remember that forever 😁👍
Love the channel, love the mgb for Caleb, just remember one thing about British sports cars,
"If there's oil in them, there's oil under them". Lol.
Happy Sunday everyone and congratulations to Caleb! Love yall 3000!
Man that surprise was PRICELESS!!!! So happy for Caleb! Safe travels in that sweet ride!
Caleb, welcome to the club. In the video you were told how easy they are to work on. Every MGB owner will tell you that. Ask them how they know.
I’ve had my 80 for 6 years now and just love it!
Enjoy the ride.
The BEST thing is seeing when great things happen for great people! Congrats Caleb!
I nearly cried when it clicked for him! I could feel his excitement!
Congratulations Caleb 🤩 you’ll learn so much having a car like this. We gave our son a VW 1969 bug and he had that engine in and out so many times that he is now a hands on with all his cars. Enjoy the drive 😎 get some sunglasses too 😉
When Trish said this is not a daily driver to Caleb. I couldn't help, but chuckle especially afterseeing the later parts of the video.
What a great family. Well deserved surprise for that young man.
Trust me. 😜
If you’re ever in the Allentown, PA area look me up. I can show you much of what you need to keep her tuned up and running smooth.
Stuart
Hilarious that 40 years ago a Caleb aged me was looking over the mid 70s MGB and imagining heading off to college in one. Wholesome.
Thanks and Love y'all
Priceless pure Priceless!!! Well done folks! Caleb's reaction, that youngster will always remember that moment.
Stella ...Great car name.
Such a special thing! Haha I love all the acting you all had to do to make this happen. He will tell this story forever!
I love it when the air horn makes you guys jump!!! Lol
