Hey Joy. Thanks for the great video. I just recently received the v12.5.4 upgrade and it also work for me with sunglasses with visual monitoring. I wasn’t aware of or hadn’t noticed the green dot so thanks for sharing that. I am very impressed with the fsd now and have been using it a lot more on surface streets than I had before. Living in SoCal also (OC) with all the traffic here, it does make some unexpected choices occasionally where I have to take over immediately.
Girl, you need to put your hand back on that wheel! 😂 Kidding aside, that's awesome you're enjoying the new update. I've enjoyed the latest updates and now 12.5.4. It has gotten so much better from when I tried FSD 1.5 to 2 years ago. I believe tech savvy people tend to appreciate it more than the folks that did the free 30 day trial and claim to be scared or felt unsafe, etc, etc. Self-driving cars was just a dream as a kid. Now we get to live the experience.
It's much better than than all previous versions. I tried the autopark on a hill of about 30° slope, still needs work on that. Can back up but can't go forward, but! It's super accurate! Works very well to get into the spot haha! For parallel parking, it can park in tighter spots now. They were able to shorten 3 inches safety between your car and other parked cars. It's a big difference. Thank you for all that has been testing for awhile now. You've all basically been risking your lives to make this happen. People don't understand, but there is danger in getting to this point. I myself had a few close encounters in the very early days. Thank you for all your help!
I'm glad you get to enjoy hands free too. So good to no longer be Pavlov's dog tugging the steering wheel every ninety seconds. Makes me excited for attention free someday where I can go on scenic drive and just enjoy the view.
Good to know how the sunglass monitoring works. I wear them all the time, and don’t enjoy the periodic nag. The side effects of the nag is that I’ve learned to drive one-handed to always have a slight tug on the wheel while in Autopilot. That is not how I normally drive, since I prefer two hands evenly balanced on the wheel when driving manually.
I had the green dot go away with sun glasses on and came back on with them on. It takes a little bit longer with them off. Try that. The no nag is so much more relaxing of a drive
I came here to say this. I did the hands based monitoring for a second or two and then just stared at the road with my sunglasses on and the green dot returned after what seems like a long time but was probably only 5-10 seconds. There is something about the hands free plus the noticeable improvements that have me really excited about v12.5.4.
I got the update last week and it's so fun to drive without the steering nag. One thing I noticed is that the attention monitoring doesn't work when it's very dark at night. I end up turning on my cabin light to re-enable it.
Thanks for sharing! Didnt know about the need to reset from sunglasses violation....The biggest difference i notice with 12.5.4 is lane keeping on Ca freeways. It positions itself in lanes exactly when / where i would. Doesnt wait too long to change lanes for exits and ramps. I use it for 250 mile trips every couple of weeks and i dont sweat the drive. Also, the smoooooothness is beyond human ability.
You don’t need to remove your sunglasses to get attention monitoring to go active again. You just need to have your face looking forward. I’ve not had to remove mine if I get that message.
Joy I've been having experience in 5.4 where it hesitates and almost stops in some intersections when the light is green. This didn't happen before. Have you seen that at all. It happens very often for me.
Your problem areas have been fixed. Nice progress.

Yes it’s at 98% accuracy so still needs interventions here and there.
@TuneupMagic based on my experience from the last 3 years of using FSD technology.
Huh? You haven’t been following my channel and watched my videos for the last 6 years?
@@TuneupMagic autosteer has been available for several years. I’ve been using it since then.
@rxdude5858 this guy is trolling. I’ve shadow banned him.

Thank you for this video.

Great video Joy. I can’t wait for this version.
More cool Tesla Updates from T.J. ! :)

Thanks I’ll do more testing with sunglasses.

Thank you for another great video. I hope Telsa does the eye tracking for plain vanilla Autopilot.

Thanks Joy! ❤
I was looking forward to your update! Did your building ever settle the ev charger issue?
Thanks! I have a playlist on my channel with the whole project progress update where you can track!
I found that starting FSD while already wearing sunglasses is more effective at getting it to work than starting FSD, then putting my sunglasses on.
I didn’t say that you can’t.
@ 7:42 Cybertruck does have FSD, in fact they have a later version 12.5.5
Not at shooting of the video. It just rolled out today and this was shot on Saturday.
I'm so jealous... here in Germany FSD is still not available 😭
Does your car have interior camera? I have a 2019 model x and don’t think it has the interior camera
Yes mine does.
What year is your Tesla
2018.

Really? How come mine never reactivated? 🤔
@@TeslaJoy it does a take a bit longer to react when you have sunglasses on than without. Try again and it’ll take around 15-30 seconds.
Thanks I’ll give it a try!
@@TeslaJoy you’re welcome!

It hasn’t happened to me so far. It’s been working super well on my end, but I will keep tracking!
Thanks for sharing. Are you a beta tester? Who is getting 12.5.x? I'm in Canada and still waiting for it. 😋
@ayanda1612 I was a beta tester since 10/2021 but v12 is no longer beta.
what profile are you using?
@MsOmgnowai2 assertive. Always.
Do you get the wheel nag when driving at night?
Not even once.
@@TeslaJoy Wow that's so interesting. I have Model S HW3, which gave me wheel nag, but I've only tried it at night.
@sidnickels perhaps you weren’t paying attention to the road?
👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ok im kinda new to all this. Had my M#LR for only 3 months. So is this part of the 2024.32.6 update?
No. This is FSD supervised 12.5.4 update if you have FSD.
@@TeslaJoy I have FSD just didnt get the subscription :/ Thank you. Enjoy!! :)
PS.. love your vids. Love my M3LR and thank you for all the tips and tricks. :) keep up the good work
Thank you!
Maybe your sunglasses too dark? My sunglasses never have problems with the 12.5.4.
No it’s because I tilted my head downward. Try it.
It didn't work for me. It kept nagging and disabled even though I had my hands on in the wheel. Seemed worse then before
Make sure you keep your eyes on the road.
@@TeslaJoy I figured it out. It's my very narrow eyes. They seem closed all of the time. So I keep getting kicked off lol
