    Hey Joy. Thanks for the great video. I just recently received the v12.5.4 upgrade and it also work for me with sunglasses with visual monitoring. I wasn’t aware of or hadn’t noticed the green dot so thanks for sharing that. I am very impressed with the fsd now and have been using it a lot more on surface streets than I had before. Living in SoCal also (OC) with all the traffic here, it does make some unexpected choices occasionally where I have to take over immediately.

      Yes it’s at 98% accuracy so still needs interventions here and there.

    Girl, you need to put your hand back on that wheel! 😂 Kidding aside, that's awesome you're enjoying the new update. I've enjoyed the latest updates and now 12.5.4. It has gotten so much better from when I tried FSD 1.5 to 2 years ago. I believe tech savvy people tend to appreciate it more than the folks that did the free 30 day trial and claim to be scared or felt unsafe, etc, etc. Self-driving cars was just a dream as a kid. Now we get to live the experience.

    It's much better than than all previous versions. I tried the autopark on a hill of about 30° slope, still needs work on that. Can back up but can't go forward, but! It's super accurate! Works very well to get into the spot haha! For parallel parking, it can park in tighter spots now. They were able to shorten 3 inches safety between your car and other parked cars. It's a big difference. Thank you for all that has been testing for awhile now. You've all basically been risking your lives to make this happen. People don't understand, but there is danger in getting to this point. I myself had a few close encounters in the very early days. Thank you for all your help!

    I'm glad you get to enjoy hands free too. So good to no longer be Pavlov's dog tugging the steering wheel every ninety seconds. Makes me excited for attention free someday where I can go on scenic drive and just enjoy the view.

  • @lucidf8

    Good to know how the sunglass monitoring works. I wear them all the time, and don’t enjoy the periodic nag. The side effects of the nag is that I’ve learned to drive one-handed to always have a slight tug on the wheel while in Autopilot. That is not how I normally drive, since I prefer two hands evenly balanced on the wheel when driving manually.

    I had the green dot go away with sun glasses on and came back on with them on. It takes a little bit longer with them off. Try that. The no nag is so much more relaxing of a drive

    • @AlanHerrlich
      @AlanHerrlich 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I came here to say this. I did the hands based monitoring for a second or two and then just stared at the road with my sunglasses on and the green dot returned after what seems like a long time but was probably only 5-10 seconds. There is something about the hands free plus the noticeable improvements that have me really excited about v12.5.4.

    I got the update last week and it's so fun to drive without the steering nag. One thing I noticed is that the attention monitoring doesn't work when it's very dark at night. I end up turning on my cabin light to re-enable it.

    Thanks for sharing! Didnt know about the need to reset from sunglasses violation....The biggest difference i notice with 12.5.4 is lane keeping on Ca freeways. It positions itself in lanes exactly when / where i would. Doesnt wait too long to change lanes for exits and ramps. I use it for 250 mile trips every couple of weeks and i dont sweat the drive. Also, the smoooooothness is beyond human ability.
