    Great videos. What was your 100 gm jig you said was your favourite. Also the hooks that you prefer. I mainly bait fish so please excuse my ignorance.👍🎣

      It’s a Palms Zets Slow Blatt R, very hard to get at the moment I believe but if you can find the S or L model Slow Blatt they also go real good!!

    how do you find jigging spots? do you just pick a random spot more than a certain depth and hope for the best, or are you looking for something specific?

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I look for the three things that make any spot worth fishing - structure, bait and ambush points.. a school of bait on the pressure edge of a rock face is a guaranteed good spot to start. The rest I work out as I go and adjust my drift lines, technique and jig size to suit until I get the result.

    Is there and advantage to using the rod with the eyes that curl around

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question! There are a few advantages..
      • less guides/lighter to preserve the action of the blank
      • line doesn’t touch the blank at any stage even when fully loaded.
      • the direction the guides wrap determines whether it’s a left or right handed rod. The spiral design assists by pulling the line to the palm of your hand when loaded balancing the outfit and causing less fatigue fighting a reel that wants to roll over. So yeah if you wind with your right hand you want a rod that wraps to the left so the guides pull the combo to your palm when fighting a fish.
