Hello, my name is Felippe I am from Brazil. I'm in B2 and I usually use your classes to study. I like the way you explain the things and the speed of your English because it's easy to understand. So I would like to share my text: I was talking with my friend John and told him to take your time to finish the presentation. So my friend started to explain all points about the presentation's delay so I asked him to provide me the long story short about the delay. Finally, he told me that his mother feel under the weather, which affected him to finish the job.
During COVID pandemic in Thailand, I have been cancelled all the jobs and all the events I was supposed to attend so I felt under the weather and almost got depression disorder ..then I said to myself “Just cut myself some slack..it’s not the end of the world and I will cross the bridge when I get to it anyway” .. long story short ..I am getting better and better now by meditating and working out everyday trying to have my work cut out for myself to stop thinking too much. Hi, Arnel! Thank you, very useful idioms! Here is an example sentence to all these idioms: 1) Just a moment. I try to find more info about it. I get back to you soon. Take your time. 2) I think Prague is the most beautiful holiday destination in Europe! You can say that again. I love it too. 3) I recommend you check out the new Chinese restaurant in the city center. The lunch buffet is very delicious there. I'll take your word for it. I am going to check it out someday. 4) When I moved to my new rental flat I knew I had my work cut out for me. Putting things into the right place and cleaning was hard work and took a long time. 5) It was raining buckets and the weather was cold when I cycled back home. Then I got terrible flu, that was the last straw. 6) Our ice-hockey team lost the game 12-0. Our coach was very angry with us. Cut us some slack. We did our best but the other team was so much better. 7) The times are so uncertain. What do you think are they going to lay us all off? Well, we cross that bridge when we come to it. 8) I feel under the weather. I have to go home. 9) My friend visited very many holiday destinations during her holiday. Long story short, she said it was fun and recommended a few places to me. 10) It's so late and I am so tired. I am going to hit the sack.
Yes Arnel, in Spanish we say some of those idioms too: take your time is "tómate tu tiempo "; the last straw is "la última gota que derramó el vaso"; long story short is "Para no hacer la historia larga"; thank you for all your classes, you are very important for our learning. You are beautiful and intelligent. My best regards from a Mexican who is trying to improve his English.
If you feel under the weather, you’re stuck with your English, you’re trying different methods, and they don't work; don't say this is the last straw. Don’t give up. You need to watch Arnel’s lessons; I can tell you that they're very good and complete, so you can take my word for it. There are a bunch of cool lessons about tricky topics that she makes easy to get, so take a breath, and watch all of her videos; you have your work cut out for you. It’s a long way to the top, so take your time. Hi, Arnel. Thanks so much for the lesson; I really liked it. I did my best with the challenge 😂. Love ya! ❤️
Wow, your story is just amazing, creative and well structured! And if you're recommending Arnel's lessons, I'll take not only your word, but your whole dictionary for it. So, I'm ready to start, I'm gonna cross that bridge, but from tomorrow, because I'm going hit the sack right now 😂.
Some months ago, I was feeling under the weather because of my job. I had many things to do and I was neglecting my personal life. My friends and family used to tell me: “You have your work cut out for you” and take my word for it, they could say that again. I wasn’t even hitting the sack some days. To encourage myself and go on with the work, I used to say “I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.” Long story short, I quit my job and now I am happy again.
Arnel, I will cut you some slack and not overload you with much reading. Your explanation of all these idioms have been such a blessing to all of us -- your faithful video watchers! We're quite greatful for ALL your hard work in helping us to speak a better English. GOD is with U, Arnel!!! We love U!!! Thanks 🙏 a million
( not true story hehe ) I hired a nanny and she, most of the time, have taken my word for everything I told her about my baby. and I knew she would have her work cut out for her whenever my baby mess things up in the kitchen when she feels under the weather. but I guess, the last night was the last straw for the nanny. i heard her screaming at my baby near from our house. It was driving me nuts at the moment but I tried to calm myself down a little bit. and I decided to cut her some slack! because maybe, this would be the last time treating our baby such an offensive way If I advise her the better alternative way. well, long story short, I will cross the bridge when I come to the similar situation once again ! If you think I'm generous , you can say that again ! I always need to take time to think to get the best solutions out of the troubles.

Since I moved to Delhi, I had been skipping my workout routine. And have also put on some weight but I cut myself some slack, my studies are more important than anything else right now. But the thing got worse when I was unable to get fit in my jeans, That was the last straw and I finally decided to do something about it. I came across a yoga mentor on TH-cam and taking his word for it, have started doing it. Long story short, I am taking my yoga classes regularly to keep my mind and body healthy.
Keep going girl🤗
Thank you! 🤗
