Apparently Nick Saban called Doug right before he was fired by Jax and asked him if he was done with the NFL. He then gets fired and Bama wins a championship. Doug gets back in touch with Saban, who probably already had a good idea of who was leaving on his staff to go get other jobs at other schools. Doug (who's close friends with Bill O'Brien) was ecstatic about the O Lineman Bama signed in this class. He said that these guys could be better than some of the OL he coached in the NFL. This is hopefully a match made in heaven and everything turns out good.
You have a good delivery sound like you know your stuff. Get you a better recording area and some lights and background. I watch a lot of sports commentary, and you carry your time well.
i think marrone will be great, he took the jags to the afc titles game, and if he had better qb play could have gone to the superbowl, and both he and o'brien took over tough projects in penn st and syracuse,,and did well enough to make the jump to the nfl. and i thought sumlin would be bama staff at some position...and he is a native from bama...don't be surprised if willie taggert will join the staff also
I think youre right, Marrone has all the X's and O's to succeed in the NFL., But theyre definitely different ways to discipline and run a team and some are better suited for college., doesn't mean he isn't a fantastic hire! Also Sumlin would be awesome!
I have thought if Mark wants to hang the cleats up, he would be an awesome hire! The RBs that he has played with have all had rave reviews about Mark's ability to coach them up and make them better.
@@RepublicConstitution They could, but I don't think it is likely. Texas wasn't in his top 2, which was between OU and Bama. From what I understand those were his top 2 for a long time. But he is from Texas, and Sark, Banks, and Flood is an impressive haul especially with Huff leaving bama. But at the end of the day I think he rolls with the tide because of their ability to churn out backs into the NFL the past decade.
I would love to snap Pederson. But I think it is extremely unlikely. Sure, O'Brien and Marrone are both former NFL guys, but Pederson is an NFL guy that won a ring as a head coach. That right there would make it hard for me to believe that he would be as willing to leave the NFL completely because he has found success in the league (whether that credit should be laid at his feet or not) that the other two haven't found.
Bottom line is that Saban takes coaching failures and makes them employable. He puts coaches in his system to do things his way and if they are successful, they can move on. I don’t know how else to say it other than that. I don’t know of any coaching successes that started before they went to Alabama and then they improved what Saban was doing and moved on. I could be wrong but for the most part it’s read and repeat.
I think you're right for the most part. Kiffen didn't improve his scheme philosophy, just his approach to a program! But they all learn much more in the end by being with Saban.
@@aroundthetablesports brother listen, they not only learn but they are able to execute on a different level because of Saban. There is no question that every coach leaves better than they came.
Discipline like the entire NFL is becoming a joke. The NFL is becoming thug ball and no longer connected to actual athletics just like the NBA has for years and they’re losing millions of fans because of it.
He may, but I think it is unlikely. Karl Scott who was his other recruiter is still on staff. Plus Texas was never really in the picture if I remember correctly. It is more likely he would go to OU than Texas IMO but, it is an enticing offer with Sark there.
He also didn't get the benefit of franchises that were willing to work with him. That's why he will prosper as the OL coach at bama. Sumlin would also be a major upgrade on the staff as a special teams coach. He recruits Texas well, and would be a good fit. I stated in the video I don't know how likely it is, but it would be a major hire.
And I subscribed to your channel btw. Really love your content. Keep up the GREAT work bud.
Notice that some asst coaches bounce around from 1 SEC school to another. But Saban rarely looks for new asst's within the conferance

I think its the hire I'm most excited about! You hit the nail on the head, so much talent that an NFL guy has to be ecstatic
Really good stuff bro! I'll have to check that Ricky Green guy out 😉
I think you two would get along really well!! ;)
"We're doomed!!" "It's over!" "I hate it!!" "We just should just give up already!" .........said every other program except Bama. Roll Tide.
🤣🤣 You almost got me. Roll Tide.
Just subscribed, good content, keep it up!!! ROLL TIDE
Thank you very much!
“Alabama: Resurrection U”
True lol!!
a team full of 4 and 5 star recruits.... anyone should be a good hire....except bo pelini

Thank you! I am planning on changing the setup a bit to make it nicer, but any input or suggestions is always greatly appreciated.
Bryan McClendon- former rb coach UGA he got Todd Gurley, Nick Chubbs, Sony Michel, and Nick Marshall
That would be a great one! If Mark decides to hang up the cleats that would be an awesome hire!
Duce Staley from the Philadelphia Eagles for running back coach for Alabama
That's would be a great hire!
Didn't he come out of OLE MISS?

I agree, both had tough projects, Marrone really excites me though! I think he will really be able to continue what Bama has had going for years.
Great job
Bama team is loaded all the way up!
Best OL recruiting in history for sure!!

It would be a great move IMO. I think that Saban is really flexing with these hires.
I concer. Nick Saban didn't do so well in the NFL either.
Rolltide
Could have mentioned Saban's great success in the nfl
Barry Sanders, running back coach.
I have thought if Mark wants to hang the cleats up, he would be an awesome hire! The RBs that he has played with have all had rave reviews about Mark's ability to coach them up and make them better.
Wheaton hasn't signed yet.
True I meant it as in a figure of speech, but you're correct he has not!
@@aroundthetablesports I'm worried Sark and crew will snatch him away.

Alright I hear you but let's not forget Doug Pederson got scrapped by the Philadelphia eagles why not put an offer out for him

Bama football!!

Camar Wheaton isn’t going to Alabama. He will flip. I think he will end up at Texas.

Love these hires when NFL coaches get fired they will go straight to Bama and revive their career
He was a terrible head coach. Good luck with your “major” upgrade

Do you think coach Saban should fire Pete Golding I do cuz to me he's a awful Defensive Coordinator .
