Are they building this thing out of titanium and dragon scales?! What a rip off I can't believe there are people dumb enough to give these guys 50k for this thing.

Nice design, overall. Confused by orientation of the solar panel. Incorporation of a window, only to cover it for added protection... I'd suggest adding top-mounted hinges with gas struts and latch mechanism. Add a coiled power supply cable for extension. The panel could flip towards the sun at that point.

With that big battery, Elaphe motors in the wheels could make this an attractive electric vehicle controlled by Bluetooth app in the towing vehicle or a sensor in the hitch. Electric towing vehicles could use it as a range extender since it is already set up for home backup.

Yes! That would be huge. I’m considering buying the new Ford Lightening truck, but my big concern is towing range. It has good range and it has big capacity (model dependent) but if the tow vehicle could add it’s own power, wow, that would be amazing and worth the upgrade.

I have that same brand of solar panel on my Fantom Overlook and I can assume it is VERY light weight and easy to remove! It also has legs that fold out from the back so you can stand it up. I love it! It’s so light in fact that I sometimes have to stake it down from the wind. But no worries. It was holes for just such a reason.

Bean starts at $18K which is the best in the industry for one piece fiberglass construction. Black is loaded with very expensive components; suspension, hitch system, lithium batteries, wheels and tires, 2000 watt inverter, Dometic frig, etc. We get it, people value different things. You value a bigger trailer and accept the RV industry construction standard. Bean customers value something different.

Nice camper trailer! One comment I'd like to make is with regards to the wiring job on the upgraded power package as seen on the video (11:26). It seems that the wires could be routed cleaner. From what I see in the video, the wires are not routed professionally IAW industry standard. For maintenance and repair (if needed), it would be easier to troubleshoot if the wires are routed in a more professional manner. For this, I tend to question the level of effort that the quality assurance department (if there was such a unit in the company) performed. Thank you.

They look great and they fit a market of those who drive mid sized cars and suvs.
For that price I’ll have to spend 10 more for an Opus 15. Or pick up the winnabego hike for 32.

Question; Wouldn’t the solar panels be more utilized if a little higher up like on the roof since you’re able to fully harness the solar power that way from all directions when driving?

    • @StevenZagaris
      @StevenZagaris 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I believe its just there for when you're driving, it protects the window. Then when you get to your destination, you move it for efficiency and so you can use the window.

That ENTIRE Solar placement is nuts.
Lose, or shutter window for transit.
    Integrate Solar elsewhere.
I like the Black Bean, with all of its “standard options,”
    The benefit of its location?
It deflects rocks from breaking the window it is BLOCKING!
    So, there’s that great feature…
    I like the Black Bean.
Is some re-engineering a standard option?

    • @mark-di5pf
      @mark-di5pf 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The solar panel is on a tether and comes off on site so you can orient it toward the sun. Protects the window in transit and allows you to optimizes it orientation on site. Solar panels are very inefficient when not oriented toward the sun.

    Hello
I am a female senior (New subscriber) who’s been looking to purchase a affordable camping system, and I just saw your TH-cam video about “ BLACK BEAN” and I am very impressed !!
However, I do have a few more important questions and I would appreciate very much for your feedback.
    1. Is it Insulated well enough for COLD WEATHER and
    Air conditioning for Summer camping?
    2. (I live in Oregon and it rains a lot OCT through April.) Is it suitable for OR weather?
3.Can it be BACK IN and park in the home garage and removable hitch system?
    4. Is there external reflective lights so the other vehicles can see while I am driving?
5.Is there place to put or any suggestion for toilet system?
    6. Can it be use with outside tent to connect to trailer FOR EXTRA LING SPACE?
    7. is there gage for gray water tank and for propane tank to detect?
    8. Is there a carbon monoxide and fire alarm detector?
    9 What is total weight?
    10. Is it suitable for off-road camping?
    11. Also can it be pull with small sedan like Hyundai Sonata?
    12. Is this trailer suitable for a senior citizen?
    13. What is the TOTAL PRICE for what you’ve showed on TH-cam?
    14. If I want to purchase and order one, where would I pick up and where is your factory located?
    Thank you.
    S.K.
