- I have owned my BMW 1M for over 4 years now. This is my long term ownership review of my BMW 1M. This is the exact car that Doug Demuro drove and reviewed. The BMW 1M is one of my favorite cars ever.

love your video, after watch all your 1M contents, ibought my own 1M
.👍
AWESOME ! Congrats ! glad my videos helped
Love your videos, I bought one after seeing Doug’s review of your car.. I bought a sapphire black..Dinan $20k upgrade. Extremely fast! 444 hp 450 torque.. love it! Thank you and Doug 😎
Great video, I totally agree these cars are money well invested, and lots of fun! Picked mine up 2 years ago in Montréal with 13k, for 62k CAD black with no mods.
You have great taste in cars. I love the 1M in black as well, never seen one in person. As you said great place to park your money and enjoy the experience. Thank you for watching and subscribing to my channel. Check out my 1M vs Z3M Coupe comparison test
Glenn, I added the smokers kit to my 1m to add a power port up front. It was a simple install. I'm up to 48000 miles on mine and the only issue I've had is a oil level sensor.
Cool, I will have to try that.
My dream car 😍💕
Nice ! check out my 5 Year Ownership Review and just published 6 Year Ownership Review
Good to see you didn't sell the 1M for the McLaren. I don't know if I missed your video for this or not, but what cars did you all sell for the McLaren? That McLaren was not cheap so I know you had to sell several cars. Thanks and enjoy all your cars!
Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel. the cars I sold for the Mclaren will be unveiled in upcoming vids
Keep it! It’s going to be a classic car and it’s well loved.
It's a keeper, definitely !
Hey Glenn, great video. I've been a subscriber since the first video you started your channel, as it luckily showed up in my suggestion box. I've been looking for a 1M here in Canada, and I've found one in my home town of Calgary. It has 40,000km (about 25k miles), same color as yours, same options, stock exhaust though, hah. They are asking 62,000 CAD, which is about $47,000 USD. The car is in pristine condition as well, paint is incredible, interior is as new, etc. IMO this is a reasonably decent deal, do you have an opinion on the price? FYI there were only 220 total made for the Canadian market which all sold, and 140 of them were this same color, which is the color I prefer anyway. I should also mention that for a total price of $65,000 I can get a comprehensive warranty of another 80,000km and 4 years, which is an option I'll be taking should I buy it, as IMO 3 thousand for 4 years and 80k of comprehensive is an excellent value for this car, even with the very low mileage, it's still worth it (I think , opinion here as well would be appreciated).
Great channel Glenn, it's really growing, with the 570 now you'll be getting a ton more subscribers. You should contact StreetSpeed and the other McLaren channels and get in on their "club" of McLaren drivers as it'll really drive some traffic your channel's direction.
We bought the Lexus LC500 this last summer, might do a review of it myself this spring, been a great car, although it's been sitting in the garage since the snow came.
$62k CAD sure seems like a lot of car with potential to increase in value over time. There is one at Pfaff in Markham ON for $55k with 50kms. Just for comparison in Canada 62k CAD or less gets you a 996 turbo, Shelby Gt350, BMW M2, or maybe a higher mileage Nissan GTR.
@@touringteg My wife's car was a 2010 GTR, we had it 7 years when we sold it and bought the LC500 to replace it for her summer car. I've driven the GT350, not the R, just the "non R" GT350, and really liked it, great exhaust sound, but I've already had the Ford GT500 before we had the GTR, and I want something different. This will be our first BMW, and it's THE BMW I want. There is another M in Ontario at the biggest BMW dealer in the Province out there, a bit cheaper than this AB car but more KM on it. I've found 4 in the country for sale, and luckily the local one is the lowest mileage and the one with the color and options I want. Good point on the value/investment, the 1M is one of the only cars in this price range for a coupe sports car that is rising in value up here as well.
I want something nimble and a bit smaller for blipping around the city mainly. We built a GT86 last year and boosted and and did exhaust/suspension/wheels/tires, and it was great, one of my fav cars for the $, but we gifted it to our nephew when he graduated (we're his legal guardian). I've always wanted a BMW, and the 1M will fit the bill for a smaller drivers car that as Glenn pointed out is a true rear drive sports car without a ton of newer wizz-tech stuff. If the new Supra was a different car, I'd be considering it, big time, but no manual, which is a major drag IMO.
Wow, I appreciate you watching and subscribing to my channel for the beginning. That 1M sounds like a good car, definitely worth it for the money. If you plan on keeping it a long time, the warranty is probably worth it as well. Congrats also on the LC500 I enjoyed that car as well
Great comment, i would still take the 1M over those other cars.
Well said
Beautiful car. Glenn one question. Which is more similar to this 1M? The e46 or e9x M3?
E46 M3. Think of this 1M as an E46 M3 with power
Great ride. I remember these well when they first came on the market, specifically the orange color.
I have BMW question. I'm a recent new, first-time BMW owner. I Bought a 2015 428i X-Drive Convertible with every option in Melbourne Red/Oyster interior/black wood interior, including M Sport package. Impeccable condition. I believe the original owner definitely stored in garage and likely parked in a parking garage at work because the paint looks new without any dent, dings, scratches or even swirls. Paint and body are 10/10. Interior is 9/10. Slight wear on the driver seat bolster and since it's Oyster interior, you can see it, but slight. Driven it 500 miles so far, no problems, bought from a BMW dealer where the car was serviced it's whole life. Only issue is mileage is rather high at now 86k. I know spark plugs were placed at 50k. What do you think of higher mileage BMW's? One thing that disappoints me is I cannot check the oil, no dipstick. This is not a daily driver, I'll probably put 5k miles on it per year. Anything I should watch out for or stay ahead of? Thanks for your expertise and input.
Wow, thats amazing shape for 86k miles. Seat were is going to happen at that mileage, nothing you can do about that. I would think the biggest future expense would be replacing the turbo chargers, just remember to give them plenty of chance to cool down before shutting off the car after a spirited drive.
Love this car, glad you didn’t sell it
Me too
Best color
I agree, Glenn
Greet video. Love the 1m. I watch all your channel and even bought a GLA45 AMG because of your vids.
Do you miss your GLA45AMG??
Yes I do. If I still have my old job, I would still have the GLA 45. The S8 works better for the new job. Big back seat for clients, better highway cruiser, softer ride for clients, but I sure miss the handling and engine of the GLA 45
how to check a used bmw 1m specifically,a video on that would be great, looking forward to buy one in China
ok, I will have to make one
Hi Glen
Nice video. Have you, or anyone reading this, heard the 1M with the Akrapovic exhaust? I would get the sound kit but want to know whether the noise it produces 1. Sounds great 2. Is community friendly / acceptable with the flaps closed - I don’t want to be anti social!
Love your 1M videos.
I have a Akrapovic with sound kit on my 1M.
With the flaps closed it's quieter than the standard exhaust and with them open sounds epic !
Thanks Murray. I would love that exhaust for the 1M. Sounds great
Congrats, that is the exhaust I would get, money no object
Looks like a fun car to drive
it is
If I would have the spare money to make a fun investment I am pretty sure this car would be one of my favorite picks. For sure in 10-15 years a nice mint, non-tuned version would be fucking expensive.
Well said. thank you for watching and subscribing to my channel. More BMW 1M videos to come. Check out my comparison between the 1M and the Z3M Coupe
Is the wheelbase shortest on this car or the z3/4m? Any older BMW’s have shorter wheelbases?
to be answered in my upcoming 1M vs Z3 M Coupe comparo.
Anyone have a HPFP issue yet? Just cracked 24k on mine and had to have it replaced.
I will have to check my service records. I think that was replaced by BMW with the first owner
About to chop my 1M for an e92 M3! Am I making a big mistake!?😳 Love your videos 🙌
In one work YES. I had an E90 M3, great car but its no 1M
Do you think a stripper model is worth more at this point?
About a year+ ago I passed on a 32K, same color as yours, asking price was $57,000, what a mistake.
Ouch, sorry to hear. Hope you get one someday.
£550 tax in uk? What a shame
Owned a lot of BMW’s. 1M is the best!
its sure is
It must be an awesome car if 350+- horsepower still puts a smile on your face, even when you have a McLaren sitting in the garage! I’d like to drive a 1M someday!
I hope you get one. Yes, the 1M is still my favorite car to drive. thanks for watching and subscribing
Hey glen. I have a 2018 gti. I know u test drove one on your channel and you pleased. However, what is the best radar detector that you would recommend?
Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel. I use the 8500 and prior to that I had the V1
sell it too me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for watching and subscribing. I can't bring myself to sell
@@GlennsCarCollection
Your welcome. Well if you had to sell it.
How much will it be?
Mine is low mileage 17k, I received several recent offers in the $65-70k range.
@@GlennsCarCollection do you still have the m2? whats your thoughts on m2 comp?
“Produced in the United States”... lol. No.
