Another great video! One thing not mentioned, and it's a HUGE aging factor: smoking. As a nurse, it is one of the great sadnesses of my profession to see how dramatically smoking ages a person, and in so many ways.

Paula O'Buckley I always hear and defanently know that smoking is harmful and how it is, but there must be something out there that works with a person wanting to stop? when the craving hits I smoke, but I am down to 10 a day some times less if I get a nap in. I know I have to change how I go about it and when but I just want to see me not having to go out when my brain says "smoke" maybe it will take time but I'm not a patient person.lol

The most common form of quitting smoking is cold turkey. I ordered a program to do it. It was called Cigarrest. They may still be around.

I was really sick some years back and had to sleep sitting up in a recliner and realized that the lines I was getting on my face in the morning weren't there anymore. I have never gone back to my bed and never will. You truly do look amazing and I will do whatever you're doing if I can look as great as you do!

You are amazing!! I'm in my mid 30's and I've started to see some effects of aging on my skin. There are so many products out there on the market, it's very hard to weed through everything. Your sunscreen video, a.m. and p.m. routines, and now this video have been such a big help! Watching your Retin A sensitivity video has finally helped me to utilize my Retin A properly. I had been using it for over two years with nothing but irritation and frustration. Now, thanks to your recommendations, it's been smooth sailing! I really like how you include research and clinical based evidence for all your recommendations. Thank you for creating this content! It's exactly what I've been looking for. Keep it coming!

I also am a big believer in exfoiliants particularly BHA and aha which will make all products work efficiently , nothing will penetrate on dead skin cells

JMO, but I think the reason you look young for your age is how firm the contours of your face and neck are. It's probably because you are slim, lean, and have probably not yo-yo dieted. Personally, I think having a firm jawline is more important than wrinkles or age-spots. In my case, I've battled my weight all my adult life and now at 51 I'm going to have to have some kind of lower face/neck lift if I want to take my anti-aging to the next level. Love your tips Angie!

Good morning Angie, I always get something out of your videos. When I started going thru some channels for my interest in skincare and makeup, I came across your channel and oh boy am I grateful. I love your intellect touching on so many areas for mature people aging. Of course it's enviable that we all age, I'll be 57 in December 2017, but to age taking care of ourselves is a big plus. Thank you, Rosie 🌺

Hi Angie, I really loved this video. I turned 45 this year. I am blessed with good skin and am complimented by others. That being said, age is making it's mark and I have to do more than moisturize. Thank you so much for your well laid out videos and depth of knowledge. I trust your advice. I get so overwhelmed when searching for the product. You did all the research and are living proof that these steps work.

Hi Angie. Love your videos. I just want to address one thing, pregnant women should not use retinol, it is proven to be damaging for the fetus, or if you are planing on having a baby, don't use it. Instead you can use rose hip oil that has retinol acid in it, and that is safe to use. Kisses from Croatia..

What helped me through the years was using coconut oil/creams. I've been using a bar soap since Iv'e been 16 called TONE with coco butter. I am 48 and no one ever believes me when I tell them how old I am. People swear I am in my late 20's early 30's. Also, like Angie said, sleeping on my back. What also seems to help is only splashing my face with cool water in the morning. I always cleans and moisturize my face at night so I find going in with just water then moisturizing is a huge anti aging secret. I learned this from an Asian woman that swears by it.

    • @sumaika4

so you always wash your face only with water? what about peelings?

    • @user-ou2ty3ts6k
      @user-ou2ty3ts6k 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

No, I always cleans in the evening but most mornings just use cool water then moisturize unless I use some sort of glycolic peel or a face product that may cause my skin to shed, then I will exfoliate.

I agree on all that you said especially the physical fitness. I began getting systic acne about ten years ago, shocking since maybe I got one zit around my menstral cycle oh! And hot flashes. I had a total of two HF, but once I began working an hour a day 5 times a week I dropped 50 lbs, haven't had another hot flash and back to 1 zit once a month. I saw my uncle at a wedding and he said every time I see him, I seem to be aging backwards, yay! I've been watching your vids for going on, I think, two years and all I can say is thanks heaps!!

Hi Angie!! Just read your column in Womans Day. They couldn't have found a better person for that job!!! I have a satin pillow case on my pillow and it is suppose to deter wrinkles. I have used it for many years. I also have a wedge pillow. I think if I can learn to sleep on my back it will help to fight creases on my face..I think lots of water, exercise, supplements, Retin-A, and eliminating sugar from your diet are some of the best anti-aging secrets....Thanks for the information!!!.

You covered so much valuable info in this video, Angie. I know I will have to watch it several times. I do many things right, but am eager to hear more. I particularly appreciated hearing about fluids pooling in the eye area when side sleeping. Twenty eight years ago when I was pregnant my doctor had me change from a back sleeper to a side sleeper and I've been doing it ever since. It won't be easy to change, but I am glad to have the tip to buy a wedge pillow. Thanks for the assurance that those in our 60's can also reap the benefits of making even more positive changes. :-) I'm so appreciative of your videos!!!

When I was in college, my grandmother started giving me eye cream for Christmas and Birthday. I wish I had believed I didn't need to strip my other skin to fight my acne over the years but I have been using it since I had my kids in my 30's. I've had some tough times with pain due to illness but my skin doesn't show it as much as anyone else who has been in my shoes. People are shocked when they learn my age. Moisturize with a light hand and all these suggestions are great Angi! Thanks!

This was fun Angie! I dont mean to sound like I'm bragging but 2 decades ago I saw a derm for something else entirely and a dift doc came in for a few minutes & said something that led me to ask her how old she thot I was. She demurred, thot she might insult me, and said she was trained to know by seeing certain biomarker. I pressed her & she guessed my age at 2 decades younger than I was. Today that is still going strong, most people guess my age at 20 years or so younger than I am. I am a nightowl, what a blessing that is lol. I live in sunny SoCal and use sunscreen only when I go out but have now added cute hats, and I have worn sunglasses since my teenage years. But another big 'natural' thing is that I listened to my beautiful mother who said Never wash yr face with hot water, cold only. I may take a scalding hot bath for muscle aches & relaxation but no hot water touches this face and I have a nice tight jawline, almost no sagging and just a few fine lines. Mom was a sagger (loss of firmness) more than a sinker (wrinkles) but she looked way younger by the time she passed. Cold water only on the face & rinse, rinse, rinse. Oh and one can eat red grapes & get plenty of resveratrol, wine gives me a headache lol!! Thank you!!

I'm such a advocate of sun screens, hats and sunglasses. I even wear sunglasses on my head as an accessory. In one of my videos, I stressed the importance of wearing sunscreen under your makeup everyday. To me its a no brainer. I'm 50 and refuse to get anymore wrinkles. (Side note: try to only eat wild caught Salmon. It may be a bit more $ wise, but its a healthier fish and better for you.) Thanks for sharing your top 5! Great advice! xo

Great tips! Ive just started incorporating bovine collogen into my diet after a relative suggested, and having really nice results. A table spoon into smoothie, tea or juice twice a day.

Thank you for all your advice. You certainly look fabulous. I'll be 56 next week on Aug 18th so have teeth whitening and a facial peel scheduled. I decided to not work on my birthday or even, the day after. Drinking water has been so beneficial for my skin. Keeping hydrated is so important for us as we age.
Your videos are so informative and you do have great wisdom to share. Happy birthday to you!

You look great, as always! Happy birthday :D And I gotta get that wedge pillow, I've slept in a foetal position since forever. This needs to change, not only for no-wrinkles but to reduce the back pain I've started having as well!
