      It can be hard! I used to lift 3-4 times a week, nowadays it's more like 3 times max. On busy week maybe just once on the weekend, but you can definitely fit it in if you are keen enough.

    Hey Jason. Great video. Loved it. I am currently at a Big4 firm, working as software developer(8 months experience). If I wish to switch to another Big4 firm in a Management Consultant role, will I have a fair opportunity given my current experience and the role I am in? And since I will transition my role, so will my interview be centered towards technical skills or something else? If you could give some insights, it will be really helpful.

    • @Jason_lai
      @Jason_lai  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for the support! It is definitely do-able to switch over to management consulting. I do not think the interview will change much because of your previous experience since it will focus more on the type of skillset they expect every candidate to have. Just prepare for consulting interview like how any other person will do, but maybe prepare more for the motivational/aptitude part of the interview (e.g. why have you switched from software dev. to consulting, what skillsets do you think you can bring to the team...). Best of luck!

    Hey! Jason greetings from INDIA.
    I’m currently in 3rd year of my Bachelors in Computer science how to get into this field (cause i hate to code) and is MBA is necessary for this job profile?
    And one more thing can you share your linkedin profile.

    • @Jason_lai
      @Jason_lai  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! Thanks for the comment. MBA is not necessary for the job. If you only have an undergraduate/masters degree you will join the firm in their entry role (different firms call it differently, some call it Associate other call it analyst). If you have an MBA you will join the firm in a more senior role. Not sure if I can reveal which firm I am at at the moment but I might make a video upcoming about the job experiences I had before joining consulting!

      @@Jason_lai a last question from my side does Management Consultants require coding skills ?

    • @Jason_lai
      @Jason_lai  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sudhanshurasotra no, coding skills is not necessary and we do not use it in our work. However if you know some data analytics that might be helpful. But if you don’t already then I will not spend time learning it, your time is better spent making sure you have good work experience, writing up a good CV/cover letter and preparing for interviews

      We're on the same boat! I don't know how I feel about coding, but it gives me hope that if I don't like software or web development that there's other jobs for me. Thanks Jason for the videos, I wish I had more of an opportunity to get a minor in business but it's kinda too late in my college career. Just two questions, how stressful is the job? And are there other roles that you think C.S. graduates could get in the more business world?

      I feel like this is a very narrow way of thinking. It’s a very secure job, lots of benefits and flexibility. You’re able to combine research, problem solving and creativity into one. Not every job is suitable for everyone. (This is coming from a person in healthcare trying to transition into business)

    • @emilyau8023
      @emilyau8023 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      You say nothing personal as you judge their personal life. You should know everyone has different goals in life and if it's saving a ton of money and then being able to move to industry where you'll have less work hours and more pay for appearing competitive than most then I don't think I can blame any consultant. As a consultant, you travel and meet so many different people. It can be fulfilling for the short term and then you chill in industry.
