I can't believe it has been like 7 years this game came out the nostalgia
The weird visual glitches you see are in most modern games now - it happens because the game literally only draws things it has to and doesn't clear the old graphics. The process of clearing the old graphics is usually not needed and so they leave it out to be more efficient. However when there's nothing to draw, you get those graphical trails like that.

Surprised they added collision to some of those things you were landing on.
Oh, just check for all the stuff Galaxy and all 3D Zelda games have collision for.
And adding unique behavior just in case a Mario touches another Mario if the level somehow spawns more than one Mario. The cherry powerup functionality is already present in near-complete form in Galaxy.
The entire Mario 64 being textured and modeled in Galaxy 2's intro even the invisible parts (but no collision - they make up for that by spiriting you back like in Galaxy 1's hub, if you fall through it when you somehow escape the lucridiously high invisible wall)
Old Hyrule in Wind Waker (though it's justified because they wanted to have 8 dungeons there but ran out of time - then reused the dungeon designs in TP, also a game with lots of modeled inaccessible stuff in dungeons)
They only toned that down recently.
Even Odyssey has this.

i dont know what counts for "out of bounds" but I think its where you can sustain being in or on a place youre not supposed to, or breaking the game even if its only visually
You can also get on top of the sand room on the right hand side end of World 5-1 in SM3DW. Just get in the door way in the catsuit then jump up on to the wall outside & climb up. As discovered by WiiLovePeace on Miiverse: miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYQHAAABAAAhUqFLn-Oyuw

Um...I felt like this was more of a death montage...only a few of these were actually walking out of bounds in the void...the rest were just either deaths or decorations you can walk on...

the cat is obtained as easy as 1-1 and the tanooki suit can be found any level you have struggled on. just get the invincibility tanooki and beat the level then it turns into a normal tanooki
you can do 2:40 just by long jumping at the furtherest point

I never wanted to try these sorts of glitches because I am affraid I may do them horribly wrong and crash the game.

Michael J Idk, the only way I've managed to crash the game is by hacking with a bad code. Still tho, might be possible
I’ve tried these glitches and it never really did any harm,it crashes your game but you can just go back to the Wii U menu,and it saves

Going to world 1-1 for cat suit and star-5 for tanooki suit. Well, that's what I find easiest.

Donovan Hundley If you're not trolling you must be doing something wrong. Cat bells are literally in the first level
What happened at the start and at 3:24?
By using the cat dive cancel glitch, he gains enough speed to access areas that you are not supposed to reach normally. The graphics are normally updated every frame, but he is in an area he is not supposed to be, and the game doesn't update thegraphics anymore and it creates the trail effect.
