Used to do this in the 90s with my older sister but I used coffee and put it in the oven for three minutes to cook into the paper. Also you don't need to tear the paper. If you want it to look authentic then crumple it into a ball before you do the coffee wash and oven and it will come out more brittle and just... perfection. I'm thirty now and I still do this for fun.

It’s amazing but you can just simply dissolve coffee into water and dip the paper into the mixture let it soak for some minutes and take it out and let it dry tear it from side now if you want to have darker at the edges or something like that make the mixture of the coffee and water put some plane water or the edges or wherever the portion you want dark apply the water and take a round brush and apply it just by taping the wet areas hope this helped ❤❤
