  • Power Tool repairathon, a little taste of the everyday repairs.
    This is 2 hours work in the repairshop, compressed into a 30min video.
    All these tools are from different customers, and there are also phone calls, computer entries, part numbers to look up, parts to find ect. all the extra work that you don't see, also takes up a lot of time.
    The main bulk of tools at you see every day are, grinders, nailers, hammers, drills and mixing drills.

    Watch your vids every night before I go to bed. It’s a therapy for me. I especially love it when it’s in landscape!! Keep it up

      Landscape for sure. Always enjoy these videos, can't really say why. I guess it's nice to see modern kit getting fixed rather than binned.

      @@chucknorris2952 because everything, and I mean everything that has video, is in landscape orientation, outside of phones. I consume most content… not on my phone, like most people

    Makes me happy to hear engineering companies ordering large piles from shops like your place instead of squeezing the last cent by going to Amazon or some big outlet.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      they have better comeback if they order local. any problems or questions they can simply call and ask. Small local businesses want your business and will look after you better.
      That's why the shop i work for, provide this tool repair service, to keep their customers happy and machines running well into the future, not just the 1 year warranty.

      Most of the engineering companies rent or buy in bulk and claim back VAT. But yeah, I totally agree it's worth fixing most tools, especially the commercial grade ones. I changed the brushes and oiled (had oil in the gearbox) a large HILTI rotary hammer drill. Man, what a beast! Well used, you could hardly see what color it was!

    I’ve got 2 of them. Small one with brushes, bigger one brushless. And one with powercord for the heavy work. I messed up my little one, just bought a new one, after 5 years of abuse. Also removed the retainer, so I could use 5 Ah batteries. The new one can handle the bigger batteries from factory.

    Love your videos mate. The dewalt nail guns the friction ones I had one that wouldn't drive the nails and spent 3 days trying to get it to work. If you get one that wont drive them properly I found if you sand a 100grit crosshatch pattern on the flywheel it restored the driver power and a light sand on the pinch roller. It drove 90mm-65mm nails again. Could you try it out if you get a trouble some dewalt. Cheers

    You could scavange the controller from the makita grinder for the makita saw :). No wait needed.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you could, but if it was my own tool. i would simply cut out the controller and wire the motor directly to the switch. And monitor the tool myself.

    • @Feldmarshall12
      @Feldmarshall12 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm surprised that when Makita uses MOSFET to drive the tool, they still put a switch capable of handling the current. Very decent of them :-). But I guess when doing the same modification to another brand, one has to be careful.

      @@oscarmarfori613 The purpose of ferrules is to stop the stranded wire becoming loose, as its stranded it can move udner the screw and eventually loosen, having the ferrule prevents that, it also can provide a better connection as you guarantee full contact with the screw and as you found out can also prevent you from accidentally missing a strand causing other issues
