    If you are preparing for your first business analyst job interview or if it’s been awhile since you’ve interviewed, you are probably wondering what questions you can expect and how to answer them. Interviewing for a business analyst job is very different than interviewing for a more technical or domain-focused role.
    In particular, what’s different is how you answer questions to position your skills to a potential employer. I’ve been on both sides of the business analyst job interview process multiple times - I’ve hired several BAs and, while I was contracting, I interviewed for several BA positions.
    In this video, I share my insider tips on how to prove you have the business analysis skills your employer wants to see in an interview, so you can really sell your skills.

    Our minds work like a CPU(s) in a computer. All unfinished tasks clog the CPU. The reason we do business process analysis is to discover important/natural regularly occuring break-finish points. When we reach such a break point we feel positive, happy, joyful etc. Alternatively, when those points are not clearly defined we feel lost, like driving on a road with no lanes. If others want our attention, unless emergency, they should put a Post-it note: "Thank you for completing this task. Join me to celebrate and let's get some fresh air". From this simple idea the world's challenges heal themselves.

    My last interview I answered some questions in a straight forward way based on experience then they asked some questions about things I hadnt done before and all I could do was talk about it in terms of textbook theory. Well they could tell I was making it up from theory but I just kept on going as I had no other choice ! Anyway luckily I still got the job ! Lol.

      @@BridgingtheGapBA I have NO idea. It was an internal interview where I know the interviewer well. I prepared well, but I wasn't asked any questions besides how much programming I knew. A lot of the interviewer talking about the role and what they expect. I do know the interviewer well and work closely every day with the team for the last 6 years, but no questions didn't ask about my certifications or anything. Have you experienced this?

    • @BridgingtheGapBA
      @BridgingtheGapBA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cu806 It sounds like perhaps this was for more of a technical role, than a business analyst role. Some interviewers also just don't know how to interview, and it could be important to riff off of their descriptions of expectations to speak to your experience and qualifications, and how you could fulfill those.
